Military Hero Banner

Hello, and happy Veteran’s Day to our U.S. friends! This is a special day to remember those who are serving, or who have served in our military, and I’ve got a fun project idea to honor our veterans. This Hero Banner is the perfect decor for any gathering celebrating our servicemen and women.

I used some Honeycomb Paper and the Honeycomb Stencils from the DIY Party line to create these rosettes for my patriotic garland. I used the small honeycomb pads and cut a 3/4″ strip horizontally across the pad, just outside two of the visible glue lines as shown in the photo below.

Then I used the tip of one of the rosette honeycomb stencils to round the end of the honeycomb paper strip.

I hot glued the open honeycomb paper onto a scrap of cardstock in a half-circle rosette.

Then I added a half circle of patterned paper from the DIY Party 12×12 Paper Pad, a banner strip, and a gold Thicker from the Clearly Posh collection.

To complement my banner, I made a simple plain red, white, and blue cardstock circle garland using the DIY Party Garland Punch. So easy!

To finish off this project I adhered some baker’s twine to the back of each rosette for hanging. This Hero Banner is a great way to say thank you to a friend or loved one in the service. And that’s what I’d like to do today–to all our wonderful military heroes, thank you so much for your service! Happy Veteran’s Day!
