Flower Girl Layout + Giveaway!

Happy Monday morning friends, and welcome to Flower Girl Week here on the We R blog! This week is all about celebrating our latest paper collection, Flower Girl. Our team has come up with some amazing inspiration for you, plus today we’ve got a couple of giveaways so let’s get things started with design team member Shellye!

Hello, We R friends!  Shellye McDaniel along today with a quick and easy layout using the new “Flower Girl” Collection and the 1-2-3 Punch Board.

Shellye McDaniel-Flower Girl Layout1

I started with a 12×12 sheet of the “Flutter” and “Bloom” papers (side B for both).  The “Flutter” paper was trimmed down to 12”X11” and then adhered to the top of the “Bloom” paper, leaving a ¾” border at the top and a ¼” border at the bottom.

Next, using the 1-2-3 Punch Board and the “Terrace” paper, two envelopes were made.  The 3X3 card size was selected and then I proceeded with the instructions for creating the envelopes, which are conveniently found on the board.

Shellye McDaniel-Flower Girl Layout3

The envelopes were attached to the center of the layout, followed by two small photos and one of the 4X4 cards found in the “Card & Frame Kit”.

Before adhering the photos, the pink frame from the “Ephemera” pack was cut in half and then adhered to the backs of the photos.

Various pieces from the Ephemera Pack, Sticker Letters and Puffy Stickers from the “Flower Girl” Collection were used to embellish and complete the layout!

I had a couple of scalloped paper pieces from my stash that I added to the design, as well as a strip of white Bazzill cardstock that added a nice accent border to the top.

The colors and sweet designs of the “Flower Girl” collection are perfect for a girl of any age or those welcome Spring or flower garden photos!

Light Strand Moss Wreath

Happy Friday friends! It’s Aly Dosdall here today. I hope you’ve found some valuable home decor inspiration this week. Have you enjoyed the projects so far?

I’m really feeling the spring weather here, so I decided to make this spring-inspired Light Strand Moss Wreath. I used the DIY Party Globe Punch and Vellum Pad to create the light bulb covers.

To create the wreath, I used a 14″ square wire wreath form,  a moss sheet, and my Sticky Thumb Cordless Hot Glue Gun. You can find wreath forms and moss at your local craft store or online.

I laid the moss sheet face down, and placed the wreath form on top in the center. Then I used my craft knife to cut eight lines from the center of the moss sheet toward the inside edge of the wreath form, making sure to end one line at each corner, and then one line halfway between each corner.

cut moss

Then I wrapped the moss sheet around the wreath form, using my hot glue gun to attach it to the back of the wreath. I had to trim a couple of inches off the pieces I cut so they fit into the back of the wreath form.

Once I covered my wreath form with moss, I prepared my light strand with little vellum paper globes. The DIY Party Globe Punch and Vellum Pad made that happen quickly and easily. You can use the pre-cut pad, or simply trim your paper to 4×7 inches, and then follow the easy instructions included with the punch.

I stuck with a sweet spring color palette, and I love how the pastel colors look against the fresh green moss. Once you’ve punched your paper, attach the bottom hooks, insert your light bulb with the cover on, and then wrap the top hooks around the cord of the light bulb to close up your globe.

To cover up the bare white cord and to add a little more fun to the wreath, I  cut several 2″ folding pennant banners with my Banner Punch Board. Just fold a 4 inch strip of paper in half, and then cut with the board as usual. Then I adhered the banners over the light strand cord.

I attached the light strand to the wreath with twine tied to the back wires. You could also use twist ties or zip ties. The wreath only fits 9 of the 12 bulbs, so I tucked the remaining three into the back bottom of the wreath where I tied the battery pack. Tip: Be sure to secure the battery pack in the center bottom or top of the wreath to help the wreath balance properly.

I added a pretty pink bow at the top for hanging. This wreath lives on my craft room door as a happy welcome into my favorite place to hang out.

Beautiful Moments Corkboard Frame

Good Morning We R Memory Keepers friends, Wendy here today sharing my Organizational Gallery Corkboard decorated with the brand new Flower Girl collection.  I was so inspired when I was going through the Flower Girl papers that I decided to recreate the idea on my Corkboard.

Beautiful Moments Board by Wendy Antenucci for We R Memory Keepers

I pulled my favorite items that I wanted to try and use on my corkboard which then helped me pick my colors for my butterfly lights.  I arranged the butterflies with a little space in between so they wouldn’t bunch up and I had enough lights left to come down the side of the board.

Beautiful Moments Board by Wendy Antenucci-1

I then took my wood veneers that I had chosen and hot glued them onto the Ruler Studio picture clips, this way I will be able to change out the pieces on my Corkboard as often as I would like to.

Beautiful Moments Board by Wendy Antenucci-2

Once I had my basic board idea I took the Natural String and adhered it to my board to mimic the banner paper from the Flower Girl collection.    I chose my favorite 4×6 card to be the focal point of my board and used my new clips to secure it.  I added a few fun pieces around this focal point to draw your attention to it.

Beautiful Moments Board by Wendy Antenucci-3

I chose a few pieces of ephemera to decorate my string and to help bring the colors down the board from the butterflies at the top.  I chose the banners to give my piece a whimsy feel.  I also used a few butterflies to hide where I attached my lights to the frame.

Beautiful Moments Board by Wendy Antenucci-4

A few more fun cards that I enjoyed which added some splashes of colors were tucked into the bottom of my frame.  I chose the bird wood veneer and hot glued it to a thumbtack to give my cards at the bottom some added dimension and hold my card to my board.

Many of my pieces were tucked in to the frame and held by my clips allowing my board to be changed for the various seasons.  Thanks to the Flower Girl collection (which I have completely fallen in love with) I have a beautiful spring board to showcase some of our spring photos.

Pom Pom Wall Hanging

Hello We R fans!  My name is Amanda and I’m a pom pom addict.  As a lover of all things cute and fluffy, the WRMK DIY Party Pom Pom Maker is a new bright spot in my life.  It is so easy to make perfect looking pom poms right from the start.  My daughter and I went through at least two skeins of yarn making these colorful and bright pom poms just for fun.

Pom Pom Wall Hanging by Amanda Coleman for We R Memory Keepers

After we spent a few minutes admiring our giant pile of pom poms, we went to work putting them to use.  She made a necklace and a pair of earrings for herself and I created this cheery wall hanging to put next to my desk.

Pom Pom Wall Hanging 3

It was fun seeing how the variegated yarn would come out when we made the pom poms.  There was no planning, we just simply wrapped yarn around the pom pom makers until they were full.  Some of the pom poms were solid, and many had a variety of colors making fun patterns.  TIP: Don’t be stingy with the yarn.  Wrap your pom pom maker with as many layers of yarn that you can possibly squeeze on.

Pom Pom Wall Hanging 4

I thought this little phrase from Flower Girl Card & Frame set was just perfect for an office or craft space.

Pom Pom Wall Hanging 5

The embroidery hoop is backed with patterned paper coordinating patterned paper.  I adhered the paper to the hoop by adding a few glue dots to the back of the hoop and then placing it on the paper.  I trimmed the excess with a craft knife.

Pom Pom Wall Hanging 6

I popped up the phrase with three layers of foam dots so it wouldn’t get lost behind all of the big pom poms.

Pom Pom Wall Hanging 2

I hope you are excited to give pom pom making a try.  Once you start, it’s hard to stop!

Happy crafting!

Amanda

Ruler Studio Inspiration Board

Hello, We R Memory Keepers fans, Laura here! Today, I am sharing with you a fun way to use the Ruler Studio in your home decor as an inspiration board.

Ruler Studio Inspiration Board by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

In my craft room, I originally had a plan for a gallery wall with inspirational art work I have collected. But, as my room has evolved, I have ended up using all my available wall space for shelving and storage.

Once I got my hands on the Ruler Studio, I knew it would be perfect for creating an inspirational gallery wall, of sorts. I chose the 12 inch Ruler Studio since it is the biggest one and I wanted to create a shape that would be large enough to hold more than one 8” x 10” print.

I started by creating an octagon shape with the Ruler Studio.

I added the DIY Party Die Cut butterflies to the Ruler Studio light strand. It is so fun to have battery powered light strands you can use anywhere. I love butterflies, so this was a natural choice for my craft room. I hooked the light strand on the ruler studio using a Hanging Clip and the Pewter Picture Clips.

Ruler Studio Inspiration Board by Laura Silva 2

To be able to attach my artwork to the Ruler Studio I tied some Natural String around the top and bottom of the bends on the octagon. I can now clip on any artwork or inspirational sayings I want to the strings with the Pewter Picture Clips.

Ruler Studio Inspiration Board by Laura Silva 3
I think the gold foil print is my favorite. I received it as a gift at last year’s Snap Conference from Heidi Swapp.

Ruler Studio Inspiration Board by Laura Silva 4

This inspiration board will be hung on the outside of my craft room closet door.  I think it turned out even better than a gallery wall because I can change out the artwork any time I want!

Fiesta Fringe Cards

Hello, friends! Tessa Buys here with a pair of cards that has me in the mood for a fiesta!

Tessa Buys Fringe Cards for We R Memory Keepers

I created this birthday card and congratulations card using We R Memory Keepers DIY Party Fringe Tape. I used yellow, orange and red to create an ombre effect.

Tessa Buys Fringe Cards 2

I cut a 4 inch by 5.25 inch piece of cardstock as my card front, then started layering strips of the fringe tape from the bottom up. Once done, I glued the card front to a 4.25 inch by 5.5 inch card base.

Tessa Buys Fringe Cards 3

I typed my sentiments, cut them into strips, and added them to the cards before I ruffled the fringe. To fluff the fringe, I turned the cards upside down and gently brushed my fingers down the card fronts.

I love how festive these cards are! I think that when I send them out, I’ll include confetti in the envelopes. Now, what else can I stick this fringe tape to? Thanks for visiting today and happy creating to you!

Love & Laughter Fringe Scrapbook Page

Hello again! Chantalle with you today, sharing a page that captures some spontaneous, fun moments between my Sister and Niece. I watch her growing up and wonder where the time has gone! I’ve matched the pretty hues of the Honey I’m Home collection and paired it with some decadent gold and a pop of bold animal.

Love & Laughter layout with Fringe Tape by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

The star of this show for me would have to be the DIY Party Fringe Tape. Being self adhesive, it’s a snip to apply directly to your projects. Plus, it comes in a large variety of colours, making coordinating a breeze.

Love-&-laughter_2

Using the printed vertical lines as a guide, I’ve layered Gold, Sky, Meadow and White tape over their corresponding colours.

Love-&-laughter_3

This pink card with the foiled ‘Love’ comes from a pack of Crush Ephemera.

I’ve also used the Honey I’m Home Card Kit which contains 4×4 insta cards, frames and clear cards. I’ve popped a green card behind my photos to serve as a base and then adhered two clear cards over the top, to add to the title and draw the eye in.

Love-&-laughter_4

Because the page has so much detail going on, I’ve kept the embellishments sparse. A couple of gold sequins, some stickers and an adorable bow-shaped paper clip from the Oh Goodie! collection. Acetate can be a tricky thing to attach. You could stitch it to your project, use eyelets or a stapler. I recently found a good glue, so I dotted it on the underside of the spots and adhered it my page.

Love-&-laughter_5

As a final touch, I’ve run some lines of metallic machine stitching for a bit of texture and to finish it off.
