Photo Frame Planner Insert

Hello friends! It’s Aly here with you today sharing an easy planner idea if you’d like to add more photos and a bit of visual interest to your planner spread. Check out what I made with the Planner Punch Board and the Frame Punch Board!

Photo Frame Planner Insert by Aly Dosdall

Using the Spiral Punch Inserts, I was able to add this photo frame insert to my Heidi Swapp Time Flies Monthly Planner quickly and easily.

A photo frame insert is a great way to add extra photos and memories to your planner. It’s also a great way to include something a little different to break up your planner spreads. Take a look at the rest of my May planner set up, and then I’ll show you how to make a photo frame planner insert with the Planner Punch Board and Frame Punch Board.

To make a photo frame planner insert, start by trimming two pieces of paper to 6 1/2 x 4 inches. Then, using your Frame Punch Board, follow the instructions and punch the two corners on the right edge of the papers with the guides set at at 1/2″ and 1/2″. Then punch the two left corners of the papers with the guides set at 3/4″ and 1/2″.

Using the cutting feature on the board, cut out the center of your papers. Then set the guides to round the corners of your frame, and round the two right corners.

Now it’s time to punch the spiral holes so it will fit into the planner. For my planner, there are two holes per inch, so I’m using the mint spiral punch insert. (The instructions will tell you which one you need for your spiral planner.)

Center your paper in the punch. If you want to be really accurate, you can mark the center of your paper and line the mark up with the center mark on the punch. Punch once, and then move your paper to the left to line up the hole you punch with the guide on the insert.

Once you reach the edge of your paper, flip it upside down and repeat the process on the other side. Do this to both papers, and then sandwich two photos between them, so you can see a photo on each side.

Now you’re ready to insert the photo frame into your planner! I love that it’s removable if you ever want to take it out for some reason.

Custom Planner Dashboards

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here today with absolutely fabulous Planner Punch Board. I knew this tool would be amazing, but until I started using it, I had NO idea just how great! The Planner Punch Board is going to change the way I use my planner, for the better and prettier!

Custom Planner Dashboards by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

I have so many patterned papers that I love, but sadly, with a little boy, have no use for in my scrapbooks. But now, with the Planner Punch Board, I can use these girly papers in my planner to create dashboards for the months. Now I can see and use my favorite papers!

Custom Planner Dashboards by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

When I first opened the Planner Punch Board, I was worried about how I would figure out which configuration I needed for my planner. Then I flipped the punch board over, and wow! There it was!

Planner Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

An entire list of all the most popular planners on the market. I was able to find not only how to configure my punches, but also the exact size of paper!

Planner Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

After lining the punches up inside the punch board, according to the chart, I pushed the teal cover down for an easy punch. To punch the other side, simply flip the paper over and punch again.

Custom Planner Dashboards by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

Creating dashboards is easy, but don’t forget about adding fun extra pieces. This tag I cut from the Dear Lizzy Lovely Day papers, worked in the Planner Punch Board too! Imagine all the possibilities for fun pieces to be added to your planner.

Tab Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

One more tool helped me really finish of my new dashboards; the Tab Punch Board.

Tab Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

Tabs are created easily with two punches and two trims of the paper. All the tools are on board and ready to use. The tabs can be made in three different sizes. I chose the small size, due to the smaller size of my planner.

Custom Planner Dashboards by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

When creating these dashboards, I started with my paper wider than the planner called for. When I added my tabs, I found they cut farther into the paper than I expected. By making the paper bigger, I was able to trim away the excess, with the tab fitting perfectly into my planner.

I might “need” to make new dashboards for each week now! How will you use the Planner Punch Board in your planner?

Mother’s Day Gift Boxes

Hey there, We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here to share with you a set of 3 Mother’s Day pillow boxes that I created with the Pillow Box Punch Board and the DIY Party Tag Punch.
Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
I’m hanging my head in shame as I admit that this is the first time I’ve used my Pillow Box Punch Board. Honestly, I have no idea why it took me so long to play with this awesome tool. It’s been in my office for a while now, I don’t know why I haven’t played with it but I’m glad that I had a chance to play with it for this project.

Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
Whenever Mother’s Day rolls around we always have a gift for all of the moms in our life. Usually these are small gifts such as jewelry, gift cards, fancy chocolates, or even a small gift that the kids have made at school. Each year, I throw the gifts in a small gift bag or envelope on the evening before Mother’s Day and call it good. This year, I thought I would plan ahead and create little pillow boxes for our Mother’s Day gifts.

Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
All you need to create these gorgeous Mother’s Day Pillow Boxes is a Pillow Punch Board, the Tag Punch, patterned paper, ribbon, a few small wooden clothespins and a few letter stickers. The instructions that come with (and printed on the punch board) make these pillow boxes come together in minutes. When I had the pillow boxes complete I added just a little bit of embellishment with the tag punch, some fussy cut butterflies, and a few letter stickers.

Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
I created three one inch tags using patterned paper that coordinated with the papers I chose for the pillow boxes. After I finished the tags and the pillow boxes, I tied each pillow box with ribbon. I simply attached the tag to the pillow box with a white clothes pin.

See, easy peasy! I love how these pillow boxes turned out and you all know that I LOVE the tag punch. The Pillow Box Punch Board is now among my favorite tools. Now that I’ve played with the Pillow Box Punch board, I know I’ll be reaching for it again, and again.

Throwback Thursday: Interactive Mother’s Day Card

Happy Thursday friends! We hope you’re enjoying the beautiful Mother’s Day projects from our design team this week. Today we thought it would be fun to throw it back to a favorite Mother’s Day blog project from last year by design team member, Chantalle McDaniel. Check out her incredible interactive Mother’s Day Card, video included!

Hello We R fans and thank you for stopping in today. With a special day on the calendar fast approaching, I’d like to share a card that I created using the beautiful new Flower Girl collection. It would be perfect for your Mum or someone special you would like to show your appreciation to.

Interactive Mother's Day Card by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

While the idea for this card has been seen before (find a link to create your own here) the way in which you use your supplies and embellish it can make for a stunning and unique gift. I’ve used a combination of Bazzill cardstock for the base and the pretty floral prints of Flower Girl ‘Bouqet’ and ‘Rose Bud’ for the sleeve and inner tray lining.

Mothers card_2

The inner tray and outer sleeve were created using my Envelope Punch board. Now, you might be thinking this is way too complex for you to give it a go, but I promise, it was surprisingly easy to put together.

Mothers Card_3

The little tray pulls out to reveal a pop up surprise. This effect is achieved by three small rows of folded cardstock which have been embellished using Flower Girl ephemera and stickers. I thought it would be a cute idea to add in some ’grass’ to compliment the flora and fauna. I used some DIY Party Fringe Tape in ‘Meadow’ and adhered a strip to the front of each row. I then used a very sharp pair of scissors to snip the squared off fringe in a haphazard fashion, creating the blades of grass.

Mothers card_4

Towards the back of the tray there is enough to stash a small present like some chocolates, a gift card or a voucher. (You can adjust this area by spacing your rows a little further apart or closer together.)

Mothers card_5

Mothers card_6

The sleeve can also be kept on the base, with the pop up elements on display in front. I’ve used a wreath shape ephemera on the top of the sleeve, along with two super cute pieces of Flower Girl wood veneer. The word ‘Mom’ was actually the word ‘moment’ from the Flower Girl accents sticker pack. I’ve snipped off the rest of the word and popped it on with a bit of foam tape.

Mothers card_7jpg

That cute spring is thanks to bits of acetate I’ve used to back the ephemera.

Here’s a look at this fun interactive card in action:

I hope you will give this idea a go. It’s such fun to create and even more fun to receive!

Mother’s Day Photo Gift Idea

Hi! Welcome to the We R blog! It’s Eva Pizarro here showing you how to make a beautiful and quick Mother’s Day gift using the Photo Lights Collection.

Mother's Day Photo Lights Gift by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

Ever since I had a son, my mom loves to receive pictures of her with her only grandson. The Photo Lights frame is a different approach to the classic photo frame, and I can assure you your mom is going to love it!

The first thing you need to do is print your picture on the backlit paper with an inkjet printer. You need to print it on the textured side. To figure out which one it is, I like to run my finger through the paper. If it doesn’t make a sound that’s the glossy side, if it does then that’s the textured side.

Mother's Day Photo Lights Gift by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

Use the Photo Lights Rub-ons to embellish your picture. In each package you get 20 different designs in 3 colors: white, black and gold.

Place your photo inside the magnetic Photo Lights Frame. The picture is protected by a sturdy acrylic sheet and you can light the frame with AA batteries or plug it using a Micro USB cable.

To embellish my gift I used the Magnolia Jane collection and my 1,2,3 Punch Board to make a large bow and a 3×4 envelope.

Mother's Day Photo Lights Gift by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I wrapped my frame with a strip of paper and used these beautiful clips to hold my card in place.

I put my bow on top of my frame and closed my envelope with a clear sticker.

And this is how the frame looks once is lit! I think it is gorgeous during the day or the night, now I want to make one for myself!

Mother’s Day Brunch Decor

Hello again We R fans. Chantalle with you today – thank you for stopping by!

If you are thinking of treating a special Mother in your life to a picnic or outdoor activity, I’ve got some ideas that are quick to put together, which coordinate with some inexpensive store-bought items.

Mother's Day Brunch Decor by Chantalle McDaniels for We R Memory Keepers

We all have a lot on our plates these days and I love an idea even more if it saves me a bit of time! Some fabulous graphic-printed picnic ware, spotted while out shopping, was the inspiration behind creating some custom table décor. I loved the colour combination and graphic pops of black. It’s these colours that I have run with and gone with a graphic feel for the items I created. Let’s take a closer look…

Mother's Day Brunch Decor by Chantalle McDaniels for We R Memory Keepers

The little table centerpiece was created with some bbq staples – kebab sticks and a bit of foam, which I covered to match. I started off creating lots of super awesome little shapes, using my Trim & Score Board and my Triangle Score Guide. I’ve been busting to try this tool out for ages and now I had my chance! The basic principle behind every shape is simple scoring. At first, I was pretty intimidated, but once you get the initial scoring done, it’s just a matter of tracing your shape and cutting out with some scissors!

The instructions that come with the Triangle Score Guide are straightforward: Trim your paper to size, score vertically, then add the guide to your score board, then score again, creating angles, then flip the guide, rotate your paper and score one more time to product lots of triangles on your paper. You then not the shape you want to create, based on the size of paper you have, and cut out. Awesome!

Trim & Score Board and Triangle Score Guide by We R Memory Keepers

The shapes you create are great on their own on the table as décor, or you could string them along some sparkling thread for a great cake topper. So many possibilities!

Mother's Day Brunch Decor by Chantalle McDaniels for We R Memory Keepers

When I was folding my shapes, I must have adhered two pieces in the wrong spot and accidentally came up with the shape below. It kinda looked like a wonky fortune cookie! It got me thinking that I could use it as a place card, so I embellished it with some yellow acrylic paint and added a splash of glitter paper. I really like American Crafts ‘Pow’ glitter paper as it runs through my Silhouette machine very well, it’s thin and doesn’t shed lots of glitter everywhere.

Mother's Day Brunch Decor by Chantalle McDaniels for We R Memory Keepers

If Mum is going to be seated… surely she would need something to eat with? I saw this seriously cute cutlery bag idea on Pinterest and decided to make my own, using my Scalloped Goodie Bag Guide along with some Ombré Oh Goodie Glassine papers. I’ve chosen to work with the pink paper as it matched my paper plates and napkins.

Scallop Goodie Bag Guide by We R Memory Keepers

The scallop edge looked so pretty, I chose to keep it facing up instead of at the back of the bag. I’ve added some little On a Whim die cut shapes and tied it off with some silver twine.

Mother's Day Brunch Decor by Chantalle McDaniels for We R Memory Keepers

Now, let’s treat Mum to a drink as sparkling as she is…

Customise some basic disposable drinkware with rubs-ons and stickers!

Mother's Day Brunch Decor by Chantalle McDaniels for We R Memory Keepers

I’ve added a Vicki Boutin Rub-On to this clear champagne goblet, which turned out great! I love the subtle difference in the colour. I then added a Heidi Swapp sticker over the top and finished off with a few little enamel dots in coordinating shades. (This idea would also be great at a party to differentiate people‘s glasses.)

Does Mum prefer something a little warmer? How about a custom sleeve for her favourite brew?

Mother's Day Brunch Decor by Chantalle McDaniels for We R Memory Keepers

I created this coffee cup using the 9 Oz. measurements on my DIY Party Board. Simply trim your paper to size as instructed, then cut at two intervals along the board. Presto!

It has been embellished with some more rub-ons – I couldn’t resist!! This time I’ve used some Photo Lights Rub-Ons. I love how easily these rub-ons transfer and that some are pretty big.

Confetti makes for a fun and festive way to add a little dazzle to any table. Create your own, super fast, with a DIY Party Confetti Punch. I love this tool! (It was also a great way to use up the scraps from creating my graphic shapes.) Punch some foiled paper for a metallic pop!

Mother’s Day Card with the Mini Alphabet Punch Board

Happy Monday friends, and welcome to Mother’s Day Week here on the blog! This week our design team has cooked up some fabulous project inspiration to show the mother, grandmother, or mother figure in your life just how special they are. Kimberly gets us started with a beautiful card she made with the Mini Alphabet Punch Board!

—–

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here today with a special card for Mother’s Day. There is no doubt how special the word “mom” truly is. The word evokes the love we feel for our moms, or mom figures. And for those of us fortunate enough, we know how the name “mom” sounds when coming from our children. (Except maybe after they scream it ten thousand times in row. Wink, wink.)

Mother's Day Card with the Mini Alphabet Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To keep the focus on mom and the love we have for our moms, I used the We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board to create the letters “M-O-M.”

Mother's Day Card with the Mini Alphabet Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

So often when I use this punch board, I use solid color paper. This time, I wanted to use the adorable, small heart patterned paper from Dear Lizzy’s Lovely Day.

Mini Alphabet Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

Turns out, the way you put the paper in matters! Be sure to note when you punch your letters, which way you need the pattern to appear. After making the first “m” incorrectly, I saw that I needed to turn the paper sideways.

Mother's Day Card with the Mini Alphabet Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To embellish the letters, I used a Font Punch. These clever punches create shapes to add to your letters.

Font Punch by We R Memory Keepers

I punched several leaves from green cardstock using the Font Punch Serif Punch-Elegant. It creates three different shapes with one punch. I chose to only use the leaves, as it worked into my flowery theme.

Mother's Day Card with the Mini Alphabet Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

On a couple of the leaves, I added Lovely Day Puffy Stickers with flowers. I also added the word love to my card. This embellishment from the Lovely Day Ephemera pack has rose gold foil on it, adding a special touch

This card is larger than normal, as it is an A9 card. I see my mom on Mother’s Day, or send her a package, so slipping this large card into her gift is easy.

Have you started a card for your mom or mom figure yet?

National Scrapbook Day Roundup

Happy Friday, and Happy (Inter)National Scrapbook Day tomorrow! We’ve been celebrating all week with plenty of scrapbooking inspiration, and today we’re going to cap things off with a roundup of some fabulous memory-keeping projects we’ve found on the internet. We love to see what you’re creating with our projects, and we hope you enjoy the inspiration!

Use your Envelope Punch Board (or 123 Punch Board) to make pockets for your scrapbook page. You can use your pockets to include extra photos, memorabilia, or journaling. CLICK HERE for more details and a process video by Zinia Armoiridou for Hip Kit Club.

Make a statement on your scrapbook page with a large bow embellishment! Use the One Piece Bow Die and the Evolution Advanced to create your bow from your favorite patterned paper. For more photos and details about Kim Jeffress’ beautiful layout, visit the Heidi Swapp blog HERE.

Mini albums are a great way to preserve photos and memories, and we love how designer Renee Zwirek used our Glassine Papers and Frame Punch Board as part of her Cinch book. For full instructions, visit the Pebbles Inc blog HERE.

Our Font Punches are perfect for adding decorative details to letters punched with the Alphabet Punch Board, but they’re also great for adding punched embellishments to your scrapbook pages. We just love how Chantalle McDaniel added some tiny flowers to her page with the Marquee Punch.

Include beautiful hand stitched accents to your scrapbook layout with our Sew Easy Floss. CLICK HERE for more about this gorgeous inspiration piece by user Puddin Head on Scrapbook.com.

Memories don’t have to be documented in an album. Designer Kim Jeffress recorded her family adventures in a Heidi Swapp Memory Dex, and easily added her journaling directly to the cards with the Typecast typewriter. CLICK HERE for more photos and details.

Thanks for stopping by today. We hope you’ve enjoyed this scrapbooking roundup, and that you have a wonderfully crafty (Inter)National Scrapbook Day tomorrow. Crafty cheers!

Shaker Pocket Page with the Fuse

Hello We R Memory Keepers fans! Soraya here with you today to talk about pocket pages, and share with you some tips and tricks to use your favorite tools and embellishments to showcase your photos in a very cool way!

Shaker Pocket Page by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

If it’s the first time you’re diving into the pocket page world, here are some product ideas that will perfectly fit: I used the amazing FUSEables embellishments, some washi tape, sequins, colorful papers and some We R Memory Keepers journaling cards.

When using the Fuse Tool, the Laser Square will be perfect to guide you! All you have to do is placing the Fuse Mat just under the pocket page before starting fusing!

Use the Laser Square to get straight lines with your Fuse tool.

You can place the FUSEables embellishments directly on the pocket page ! Plus, you will get a beautiful stitch effect. Before closing the top of this section, insert some sparkles in it!

Geometric shapes can be fun too: for example in this pocket, I cut 2 patterned triangles and used my Fuse Tool to separate them. I also placed some FUSEables die cuts on the top of the pocket for the final touch.
