Add Extra Journaling to Your Scrapbook Page

Hey there We’R fans, Nancy here with a look at the 1-2-3 Punchboard in action! Let’s put it to use creating a page full of pockets with a dramatic design twist.

Story Pocket Scrapbook Page by Nancy Damiano for We R Memory Keepers featuring the 123 Punch Board

To create this layout, use the Punchboard to create 15 small envelopes in different patterns and colors. You can create these in minutes using the Punchboard and the handy measurement guide found inside.

What you end up with is a beautiful little pile of envelope goodness. We’re going to use these to make the background of our layout, but I can see these hole-punched in one corner and gathered to create a beautiful mini-album. That just may be my next project!

The envelopes were glued to a plain sheet of cardstock to create a beautiful and functional background for this favorite photo. The texture and patterns of the envelopes makes a perfect spot for framing out the picture. A simple title and journaling completes the page.

The pockets are not just decorative – they hold stories about my grandmother and her life. The pockets with stories are highlighted with tiny enamel hearts so I can remember where they are!

Celebrate with a Waffle Bar

Welcome back to the blog today! It’s Chantalle here and I’d love to share a celebratory idea with you, which I put together for my kiddo’s first day back at school. It was a special one, as my DS started High School and my sweet little girl faces a new chapter without big brother to look out for her on the playground.

To mark the occasion, we had waffles for dinner! You can imagine their delight in having sweets as a main meal, lol.

All-you-can-eat candy at this waffle bar!

I got the waffle idea playing around with my new and improved Trim & Score Board. The blade has been updated and now features super precise cutting. The board also feels sturdier now, thanks to a new locking mechanism at the back. I definitely enjoyed using this new board more than it’s predecessor.

I started by trimming up four pieces of some Bazzill Classic Yellow Mono Cardstock. (I just eyeballed it, but I reckon it was a bit wider than 4×6 size. Maybe 5×6) and then ran some score lines down the length and breadth of two of the sheets, at roughly 1 inch intervals. I also ran some narrower lines in between those (again, eyeballing) to create the illusion of the dents in the waffle shape.

I trimmed out the square shapes that had formed from the scoring lines, leaving a narrow border around each one. Initially, I had a much wider border around the whole outside if the piece of paper, so I could decide how much of en edge to leave. I ended up trimming this down so there was a slightly wider border than the one between my squares.

Finally, I mounted the cut paper to a sheet of un-scored paper. (The cut ones were now smaller than the un-scored pieces, so I trimmed off the excess. ) I rounded the edges slightly, just using my scissors, to give it a slightly wobbly finish, like a real waffle shape.

One could type up on the back of the un-scored cardstock pieces with a Typecast Typewriter and create super fun little Waffle Party invites!

You could also take your paper waffles to the next level by adding some shaded areas with inks or paints!

What’s a fun waffle bar without toppings, right? These little paper jars were quick to make and actually held way more sweets than I thought!

DIY Waffle Bar Decor by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

Again, using my Trim & Score board, I scored up some 12×12 sheets of bright paper, at 2 inch intervals. I enlisted the help of my Triangle Score Guide to create the geometric shapes. The booklet that comes with the tool goes in to detail on how to trim and score your paper, depending on the type of shape you want to create.

Remember: The Score Guide slots in to the Score Board at the 3 and 9inch marks.

Once the shapes were scored and trimmed, I went about closing them up by applying runner tape along the tabs. I closed all but one section, laying it down to see which side was best to remove once I found the best side to stand it on IYKWIM. When I was happy with how the shape sat on a surface, I trimmed off the section of paper above it to create an opening. The 2inch sided shape, created a big enough opening, so that little hands can easily fit inside to retrieve their tasty toppings! Of course, you could just pop a serving spoon in there.

These little paper jars turned out so lovely. I will definitely be making more to fill with treats and give as gifts.

The geometric shapes leave a bit of excess paper once trimmed. I used these scraps to create some embellishments and a title for my waffle bar. I ran this little flower die through my Evolution Advanced on a Magnetic Mat. I have always raved about the magnetic mat – it makes placing and keeping your die in place a breeze!

Evolution Advanced by We R Memory Keepers

Another embellishment I made was this ridiculously easy ‘cheat’ banner using some kebab sticks and a chipboard sticker from Crate’s ‘Good Vibes’ collection, which I glued on. It went straight into the waffle pile!

Mini Alphabet Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

The title was created using more scrap leftovers and my Mini Alphabet Punch Board. This little guy makes the cutest size letters and using a very mini 2.5 x 1.5 inch piece of paper for each letter (apart from the wider ones like ‘M’ and ‘W’ in which it uses 2.5 x 2.5 inch pieces)

I machine stitched the letters together, leaving an extra bit of thread on each side so I could string it up.

My bar was a huge hit and is on the cards for a repeat performance I’ve been told! The seriously clever cake stand I placed the waffles on to, comes from The Sweet Tooth Factory. You need to check these guys out!! The range is amazing and this stand in particular is so clever and stores so compact! It even comes with the attachments to string up banners!

I hope you enjoyed this idea and might give it a go for your next celebration event! Until next time, happy crafting!

Valentine’s Day Gift Tags

Hello We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here, to share with you some adorable Valentines tags. These cute tags are so easy to create with the new Trim and Score board. I love tools that have many different uses and this tool has an endless list of uses and projects that you can create. My favorite thing about this tool is that it’s two tools in one (a trimmer and a score board).

Valentine's Day Gift Tags by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

To create these cute tags, I only used three tools (the Trim & Score board, Hole Reinforcer Punch, and scissors). The first thing I did was create the tags by trimming the patterned paper into a rectangle and trimming the top two corners off to create a tag shape.

Valentine's Day Gift Tags by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

The main focal point on these tags is the patterned paper rosette behind the wood veneer sentiment. These rosettes are so easy to make!. They’re one of my favorite embellishments because they make such a big impact. Each rosette is made from a 1 ½” x 12” strip of patterned paper.

After trimming the patterned paper strips I scored all three strips every 1/4 inch. I wanted these rosettes to add texture to the tags but not a ton of bulk.

I should probably tell you about the products I’m using, huh? This awesome collection is “Main Squeeze” from Crate Paper. It’s perfect for ALL of your Valentine’s Day projects.

The main embellishment on these tags is obviously the rosette/the wood veneer sentiment. I kept the rest of the embellishments very simple with only a couple of stickers and some glittery washi.

The finishing touch on the tag is the patterned paper hole reinforce that I created with the hole reinforcer punch. You guys, this punch is brilliant and has a permanent spot on my desk.

They’ll add a fun interactive element to your party, and make each of your guests feel extra special.

Love Note Cupcake Toppers with the Mini Envelope Punch Board by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

To make these Valentine’s Day cupcakes, I started by making some simple cupcake wraps with the DIY Party Board using the Forever My Always collection from our sister brand, Pebbles Inc. I really love the color palette, along with the grounding neutrals of black, ivory, and kraft!

DIY Party Board by We R Memory Keepers

Next, I trimmed apart the Love Notes paper so I could use some of the 2×2 inch blocks as love notes for my cupcakes. Then I made some 2×2 inch envelopes for the love notes with my new Mini Envelope Punch Board. I also slipped in some of the smaller die cut ephemera pieces as well.

I sealed up each envelope with a puffy sticker from the collection, and then added a red decorative toothpick to the back of each one with a small glue dot.

Then I wrapped each cupcake, and stuck the mini love note toppers into each one. The Magic Sweet Stand by Sweet Tooth Fairy is the perfect way to display them!

Valentine’s Day Card with the Score Board

Hello We R fans! Kimberly Crawford here today with a Valentine’s Day card. I don’t know what it is, but I love, love, love making cards for Valentine’s Day! Maybe its because red is my favorite color, but I am guessing it mostly has to do with the fact that I get to send cards to people who mean so much to me! One way to make my cards really stand out is by creating a rosette. Making rosettes of all sizes is a breeze with the We R Memory Keepers Score Board!

Valentine's Day Card by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

Rosettes are a folded circle of sorts. They add a ton of dimension. I love how I see large rosettes being hung on walls for party décor, so I thought, why not make a card-sized version? While I am sharing a smaller size, you can easily adapt these instructions to create rosettes for scrapbook layouts or large ones for party décor!

Valentine's Day Card by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To create a card-sized rosette, begin by cutting a piece of patterned paper measuring 1” wide by 12” long. Using the We R Memory Keepers Score Board, score the paper every ½” for the entire length of the strip of paper.

We R Memory Keepers Score Boar

Tip: Place the paper slightly below the top of the scoring space. When you place your scoring tool inside the line groove at the top, sliding down from there over the paper makes the score lines cleaner.

We R Memory Keepers Score Boar

Once the score lines are completed, fold the paper to create mountains and valleys. Meaning you will fold the paper forward on one score line, and then backward on the next score line.

We R Memory Keepers Score Board

After the entire strip of patterned paper has been folded, adhere the ends together, making sure to continue the pattern. Use strong adhesive.

Clear Cut Circle Punch by We R Memory Keepers

A flat circle needed to be created to hold the rosette in place. The We R Memory Keepers Clear Cut Circle Punch was the ideal size. A circle was punched from the same patterned paper, as the first step.

Valentine's Day Card by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

Cover the punched circle with glue, strong glue. Push the center of the scored paper circle down to create the rosette. Carefully place it over the top of the glue. It will need to be held this in place for several minutes. Consider laying something down on top of it, to keep everything adhering as flat as possible.

Valentine's Day Card by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

Once the rosette is dry, go ahead and embellish and decorate it. I used the Pebbles, Inc. collection, Forever My Always to add special touches. With rosettes, pennants always seem to add a nice contrast to the circular shape. Plus, that heart-shaped die cut in the middle of the rosette is perfect!

Valentine’s Day Scrapbook Page with the Square Punch Board

Hello We R fans! Thanks for visiting our blog today. I am Eva Pizarro and I want to show you how to use your Square Punch Board to make a super easy Valentine’s Day layout.

Valentines Day Layout with the Square Punch Board by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

A few years ago my husband and I had a photo session, and because there were so many cute photos I couldn’t decide which one to use for my layout! I decided to use 6 small photos and combine them with patterned paper to create a grid look.

I used my Square Punch Board to cut lots of 1.5 inch squares. This board is great and I love that I don’t have any paper scraps after I use it. That makes organizing much easier!

Valentines Day Layout with the Square Punch Board by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

Another great use of the Square Punch Board is to cut rectangles for the Mini Alphabet Punch Board. I only used two letters here but imagine when you have to make banners or long phrases!

Valentines Day Layout with the Square Punch Board by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I arranged my pictures and squares randomly, and to make sure everything was aligned I used my Square Guide.

I wanted to add lots of journaling so I used my Typecast Typewriter to add small phrases in every blank square of my layout.

Next, I added my “XO” title made with the Mini Alphabet Punch Board and a dot patterned paper from the Main Squeeze collection by Crate Paper.

Finally I embellished everything with stickers and die cuts from the same Valentine’s collection. I embellished some squares with a tone on tone technique and on others I used 3d dots.

My Square Punch Board really made the job easy! And the best part is you don’t need several punches! With this amazing tool you can punch up from ¾ inch to 3×4 inch rectangles.

I am glad I was able to include so many pictures! Are you a one photo layout kind of girl? How many photos do you usually use?

Love Note Piñata

Hello, We R fans! Laura here today to share with you an easy and thoughtful gift idea for Valentine’s Day. You can make this love note heart piñata for your spouse, your child, or your best friend. They come together easily with only a few simple supplies. You can customize the design with any color fringe tape.

Love Note Heart Piñata by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Start by using some scrap cardstock or patterned paper and punch a bunch of heart shapes using the heart clear cut punch.

Clear Cut Heart Punch by We R Memory Keepers

Write out things you love about the person who is receiving the piñata. I made these for my kids, so I wrote little things I love about each of them like “you are smart”, “you are funny”, and “you are kind”. Personalize your hearts however you want.

Love Note Heart Piñata by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Add twine loops to the top and bottom holes of your heart piñata. The top one allows you to hang the piñata, so be sure you account for that with the length of your loop. The bottom one is simply to allow the recipient to pull it open, so it doesn’t have to be too long.

Love Note Heart Piñata by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Fill your piñata with all your folded heartfelt thoughts. Tape the bottom closed.

Love Note Heart Piñata by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I love rainbows, so I thought instead of the traditional pink and red for Valentine’s Day, I would create a rainbow pattern using the fringe tape. Start at the bottom and work your way to the top. Cut separate strips to cover the sides.

Love Note Heart Piñata by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Once you have your piñata all covered in fringe tape, trim around the outside edge of the heart to make it look a little neater. Now your Valentine’s gift is ready to give!

Love Note Heart Piñata by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

You could add some candies or small toys in with the paper hearts if you wanted. You could also add love, XOXO, or the person’s name to the front using Thickers or other alphabet stickers.
