DIY Birthday Party Decor

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here today with some fun party décor. Birthdays, well, they happen every year (whether we like it or not), so why not make them fun and exciting with custom décor?! I have always loved making special decorations for my son’s birthdays. There are a few We R Memory Keepers tools that I always grab when I am getting started and I am sharing them with you today.

Project number one on my list is always a banner. We have the perfect place in our kitchen to hang one and it just says, celebration time! The Banner Punch Board makes the job quick and easy. I cut my Pebbles Happy Hooray patterned paper down to 6” x 6.” Then I lined the paper up with the 6” line on the Banner Punch Board and made two cuts. Two cuts. That is it for each pennant of the banner. Nice!

On each pennant, I added a cardstock sticker from the Pebbles Happy Hooray collection. To make the stickers pop off the paper, I adhered them each with foam squares.

The top of each banner was covered with two layers of DIY Party Fringe Tape. By using two layers, it looks fuller. I adhered the bottom layer first, then lined the top layer up with the top edge of the patterned paper. It makes it cleaner looking that way.
Next item that we always get for birthdays in this house is cupcakes! Using the DIY Party Board and the Clear Cut Punch Circle, I took the bakery cupcakes from cute to wow!

I made cupcake wrappers from patterned paper and the DIY Party Board. The instructions for the size of paper to use and where to cut are printed directly on the board. Another tool that makes it quick and easy to make an impact.

For the cupcake topper, I used a small DIY Honeycomb pad. I trimmed small pieces and adhere their ends together. It made a cute and dimensional circle. On the front of each, I added an image from patterned paper. Using the Clear Cut Punch Tool, I could place the punch directly over the image I wanted and perfectly cut it out.

Final item, silly straws. Totally essential for birthdays! Instead of leaving the straws plain, I added a punched circle of patterned paper, once again using the Clear Cut Punch Tool. It punches so smoothly, its great to use for any circles I need.

The final detail was adding the letter E to each of the straws. The Mini Alphabet Punch Board made quick work of making the letters. Oh, and a special thing to notice, see the stripe of rainbow at the bottom of the letter E? I left the tear strip on the patterned paper and let it add some fun color to my letters!
