Hello We R fans! Aly Dosdall here to share a project I created with washi tape, one of my go-to craft supplies. I love to use washi tape in my journals and planners because it’s a quick and easy way to embellish my projects without adding bulk.
Recently I created a journal spread and wanted to include a pocket folder for a photo and some journaling, so I used some washi tape to make my own using the pages in my journal.
Normally I can use the Planner Punch Board to add a pocket folder into my planners, but with my journals I take a different approach. First, I pick the washi tape I want to use from my stash. I keep my favorite new washi tape rolls in the Mini Bloom Storage. I keep my favorite roll of washi tape on my new Washi Tape Runner. I love that little thing!
Next, I insert my Mini Magnetic Mat under the page I want to cut to make my pocket and then use the Mini Magnetic Ruler and Craft Knive to cut the page in half at an angle.
I then cut down the center of the page with my craft knife to remove the top portion of the page.
I used my Washi Tape Runner to tape the side and bottom of the page I cut and the page behind it together creating a pocket folder!
To ensure the pocket is full size I used my craft knife to separate the washi tape along the edge.
Of course, I couldn’t stop there so I embellished my journal spread with some rolls from my favorite new Bright Floral washi tape set.
I finished off my journal spread with some stickers and ephemera from the Amy Tangerine Journal Studio collection
So, are you a washi tape fan? What’s your favorite way to use it for your craft projects? Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your week!
