How to Make DIY Gift Wrap with Your Stamps

Hello!  It’s Rebecca with you today, taking on autumn-inspired packages and spotlighting some WRMK stamping tools, specifically the Mini Precision Press and the Mini Evolution Stamp, Die, and Emboss kit.  I have a tutorial for you for the stamping portion of the gifts, along with a couple of tips to make your projects sail along smoothly.

My first tip: Read the directions!!  I know, it seems so simple, but I often jump right into a thing without giving the directions a second thought, especially if it’s something I think I already know how to do, like stamping.  If you’re working with either of the Precision Presses (Advanced or Mini) or the kit, it’s going to help you sort out all the products and use the presses correctly.  Also, there are helpful tips in the directions, like stamping your lighter colored images first and using the perfect paper size.

I’m starting with the Celebrate tag.  The components to create this pretty floral piece line up exactly with the pegs of the Mini Precision Press.  These stamps will also work with plain clear acrylic blocks or the large Precision Press; likewise, the Mini Precision Press is a great tool for any of your smaller stamps, not just these.

Align the stamps to the press first, then position your cardstock.  Tip: I recommend using a bit of washi tape to keep it in place.  Rub a good quality white eraser over your stamps to remove oils or lint and smooth the clear stamp surface to absorb the ink.  When you’re ready, ink up the stamp, and press to your cardstock.

You may get great coverage on your very first try, and you may not, which is why a stamping tool like the PP is nice to use.  This is also why it’s good to use the washi to keep the paper in place.  Stamp again if needed and then add the second part of the image–the leafy spray.

If you’re using this kit, and these particular images, you can run your paper through the Mini Evolution with the die cutting/embossing folder.  It will create the tag you see here.  I also made a tag from some DCWV patterned paper that I’ll use for my gift wrap.

The above stamps were coordinated and placed just-so, but what if you want to make your own design?  That’s just as simple with the PP.  On a different tag, I decided to use some of the other stamps in the kit.  I love to create my own backgrounds and it’s difficult to mess up if you’re using a stamp guide.  You’ll always know exactly where you’re stamping your images.

I taped my cardstock to the platform base again to keep it from moving since this design requires more placing/removing of the clear top piece.  Place your stamps face down on your paper in the position and area you want them, press the top piece down to grab them, and lift off.  When you put it back down with ink on the stamp, it will be right where you meant to stamp the image.

When I’m creating a design like this, I make sure to clean off my stamp between each round so I don’t get smudges on my paper.  It’s an extra step if you’re using the same stamp over and over, but you know you’ll get great results each time.  In the end, I have a pretty paper swatch, ready to be turned into a tag.  Tip: You can use a different ink each time you stamp an image for an extra colorful design!

After my tags were created, it was time to make the packaging, which I did with my trusty 1-2-3 Punch Board.  I chose an A7 size envelope box this time.  It’s as easy to make as an envelope, but there’s an extra scored line on each rotation and you end up with a box that’s 3/4″ deep.  (It’s a terrific way to package notecard sets!)

My papers are from DCWV Faded Floral paper stack.  The colors and patterns are gorgeous and I’m excited to dip back into my favorite color palette, the autumn-inspired navy blue, coral pink, ochre/burnt orange, and gray.

I tied some ribbon around each box, attached my stamped tags, as well as a coordinating patterned paper tag, and then embellished with yarn pom-poms.  Pom-poms on gift wrap is still a favorite of mine, and I made these with the Pom-Pom maker set.

Cool Stamping Techniques with the Impressed Stamping Daubers and the Precision Press Advanced

Hello We R Fans! As the days turn colder, we are starting to have more time to devote to being crafty. Seems like a great time to add some new tools to your collection and to learn a new technique with a trusty We R Memory Keepers tool already in your stash.

Cool Stamping Techniques with the Impressesd Stamping Daubers and the Precision Press Advanced by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To create this card, I started by inking a panel of card stock with the new Impressions Dauber set. This set of inking tools is fantastic! Each of the daubers has foam on the end, either in a circle or triangle shape, that is meant for inking. The daubers fit easily on your fingertip, or can be gripped.

Start by swirling your dauber into the ink color of your choosing. When you put your ink-loaded dauber down on paper, it will be very dark and intense. To help keep your ink more even on the paper, start by moving your dauber in a circular motion on a craft mat before applying it to the paper. I am using the American Crafts craft mat here. Continue to add ink and slowly build up your layers of color. Set the background aside to dry as it will need to be dry for the next steps.

The We R Memory Keepers Precision Press is perfect for lining up stamps to create a shadow effect. On this card, I will create the shadow effect with a gold heat embossed image and a plain inked image.

  1. Place your card stock in the Precision Press, securing it into a corner with the magnets
  2. Set the stamp (uninked) down on your card stock where you want the sentiment to appear.
  3. Place the lid of the Precision Press over the top and then press down to pick up the stamp. This will ensure the stamp will be in the exact location after you apply ink to the image.
  4. Ink the image.
  5. Return the lid and stamp down. Push to get even pressure along the image.
  6. Heat set the image.

  1. Clean and remove the stamp from the lid of the Precision Press.
  2. Return the stamp to the card stock, but instead of lining it up perfectly over the image, set it slightly below and to the right.
  3. Put the lid on again and pick up the stamp.
  4. Ink the image. Replace the lid. Push down.

  1. When you remove the image because of the surface of the heat embossing, you will need to remove the ink from the surface. I used a cotton swab for a more precise removal.

Finish the card base off with floral images stamped in watermark ink. The Mini Precision Press, lid-only, is perfect for stamping images all over. Apply gold dust to the wet ink. Adhere the card stock to a card base.

I am fairly certain that I will be adding a shadow stamp to all my sentiments now! Will you give this a try?

Summer Card with the Precision Press Advanced

Hi there We R friends, Nancy here today with a look at the Precision Press Advanced. I love crisp stamped images on stamping projects and this tool comes in handy! Let’s create a card with ombre images with a design twist.

Summer Card with the Precision Press Advanced by Nancy Damiano for We R Memory Keepers

There are certainly ombre ink pads that could be purchased, but I’m more of a use what I have kind of gal. I pulled out two shades of pigment inks in pink, orange, green and blue. The Precision Press Advanced and a solid center stamp will bring this card to life!

Use the removal stamp plate and place the clear stamp. Next, using the darker pigment ink up half of the image and then add the lighter shade to the opposite side. Don’t worry about the overlap, it will create a beautiful hue.

This is what the image will look like after the first stamp attempt. Now this is where the Precision Press Advanced shines – you can keep inking and restamping getting a perfectly aligned image every single time. The press allows you to continue building layers of color until you have a clear, crisp image! This image took three passes to complete.

The Precision Press Advanced is also key when stamping sentiments. Here I used it to place two layers of embossing ink on the cardstock. The extra layer of ink results in a bolder title.

This is what the card looks like completed. It took just an hour to create this intricate look with the Precision Press Advanced. It lined up perfectly every single time and made for a quick and easy process!

Stamped Card and Envelope

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly Crawford here with a card and matching envelope. When you are stamping, its wonderful to be able to not only create custom-colored images, but also coordinating projects like envelopes. We R Memory Keepers has all the tools to help you create stamped cards with ease.

Stamped Card and Envelope by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

My card began with color inspiration from the Cedar Lane 6×6 Paper Pad. From there, I choose the Rose Layered Stamp set to create my card.

The layered stamp sets include a guide image. It is a stamp that assists in perfectly lining up your images. Because of my project, today I did not use that guide image, but it is very handy. The other three images in the set include layers. These layers build up the image and create a lot of depth.

We R Memory Keepers Layered Stamps

You can see how the layers build upon one another. Also notice the acrylic block I am using to stamp my image. I really like the lines on the block. The lines meet in the middle and go all the way across. Having those lines really helps line up your images.

While I was stamping my main image for my card, I also decided to stamp a liner for my envelope.

I stamped my rose image repeatedly onto white text-weight paper.  (so as to not add bulk to my envelope) Using my Envelope Punch Board, I created a simple liner. What a special touch to add, with ease!

I trimmed my second stamped rose out and adhered it with foam. This added a ton of depth to my card. The finishing touch to the card was a bit of Stitch Happy Multimedia Baker’s Twine.

Have you tried Layered Stamps yet?

Butterfly Favor Boxes with Layered Stamps

Hello everyone!  It’s Eva here today bringing you a quick favor box made with the 1,2, 3 Punch Board and the Butterfly Layered Stamp Set.

Butterfly Favor Boxes with Layered Stamps by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I love to make favor boxes for parties or family events and stamps really make the job easy because you can have all the favors look the same with just a few supplies.

For this favor box I used my 1,2, 3 Punch Board to make a Small size box. All the instructions are already on the board so it is super easy! I started with a 6 inch paper to use my 12 x 12 inch paper completely.

How cute is this polka dot cardstock from Bazzill Paper?  There are a lot of colors to choose from!

To have a cohesive look I choose the Layered Butterfly Stamp and made them in the same color as my box. These new Acrylic Blocks come in three different sizes and have guides in the middle so you can align your stamps perfectly!

Next, I used my Vicki Boutin stamp set and stamped a sentiment using the black CMYK ink.  After that I punched a tag with my Clear Cut Punch.

Finally I used my Ribbon Cutter to cut and seal three different ribbons.

Stamped Bookmarks

Hi there, We R friends, Laura here today. I must admit I am a little bit of a paper hoarder. If I have scraps from projects, I usually save anything that is left over. This year I have been trying to use up some of my stash. Making stamped bookmarks is the perfect way to use up those smaller pieces of scrap cardstock. My bookmarks are two inches by six inches.

Stamped Bookmarks by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

The fun part about using stamps is you can layer them on your project to create an entirely new look. When I am working with stamps that I will be stamping off the edge of my design, I place a piece of scrap paper under my cardstock. I use washi tape to secure both my bookmark and the alignment frame, so nothing shifts.

Stamped Bookmarks by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

When using the CMYK stamps, start by placing your K stamp on the acrylic block. The acrylic block stamping set has three different sizes to make it easy to find one that will work with all your clear acrylic stamps. Apply black ink and place the stamp in the frame.

Repeat this process with the M, C, and Y stamps and coordinating inks in that order. I did two roses on my bookmark with each one going off the cardstock a bit.

For the layered stamps you follow the same process of first placing your alignment frame on your project. But for these stamps you can completely customize your project by using any color stamp ink you want!

For the hello bookmark I used the cyan and magenta ink pads. I started by using the alignment guide to create the layered hello part of the stamp. Then I used the floral stamp to free hand a pattern around it on the rest of the bookmark.

On the layered camera stamp, I started by stamping each camera in black. Then, I used different colors to create the inner designs. I stamped the cameras on an angle to make the bookmark a little more interesting.

To finish off the bookmarks, use the Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the top of the bookmark. Thread ribbon or twine through the hole.

Valentine Cupcake Toppers

Hello, We R Memory Keeper fans, Laura here. The holidays are the perfect time to share a special little treat with the ones you love. Today, I am going to show you how to make these fun sweet Valentine cupcake toppers using the new Precision Press and the Typecast typewriter.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-1

I started with the butterfly stamp set. Line up the guide on the precision press. I aligned mine in the upper right corner. This way I could add my paper flush along the edges of the lower guide to do multiple stamp designs with ease.

I created multiples of the same design. I aligned a square of white cardstock in the corner. I started using the peach colored stamp pad with stamp number one.I repeated this process on several sheets of plain white cardstock.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-2

In between stamps, I wiped off the guide with a baby wipe and dried with a cloth. Then, I used the pink stamp pad with the second stamp.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-3

Again, I did all my butterflies with stamp two before moving on.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-4

Lastly, I used the navy stamp pad and stamp three to create the outline of the butterfly. Then, I allowed all the stamped images to dry. Once they were completely dry, I cut around the edges of each butterfly leaving a small white border around each one.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-5

I used more white cardstock and the Typecast typewriter to stamp the words “sweet valentine” on the cardstock. I love how the typewriter gives my toppers a vintage feel.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-6

I cut circles around the words to create a background for my butterfly stamped images. I also cut out circles from this beautiful pink and gold striped paper from the Typecast collection.

To assemble my cupcake toppers, I started by adhering the white typed circle to the pink and gold paper using my sticky thumb adhesive. Then, I added an adhesive foam square to the back of the butterfly to attach it to the circles.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-7

I used a strip of washi tape to attach my lollipop sticks to the back of the cupcake toppers.

valentine-cupcake-toppers-by-laura-silva-8

This is the perfect way to share a ‘sweet’ treat with your ‘sweet’ valentine, this Valentine’s Day.

These would be really adorable to make for a class party. And you could even use them without the lollipop sticks as a fun gift tag.
