DIY Wedding Favor Boxes

Happy Monday! Laura here today to share with you how to create your own wedding favor boxes. These boxes can be easily customized to match your wedding colors. You can create them for a fraction of the cost of buying them premade. Plus, you can personalize them with any sentiment that fits your wedding theme!

Start by cutting your cardstock to 10 ½ x 8 inches. Align the longer edge to the top of the score board. Score the paper at 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and 10 inches.

Rotate the paper 90 degrees and score at 2 and 6 inches. Use the score guide to line up one edge of your paper at an angle. Score an angled line coming down from each of the one-inch sections. Score the lines on one side, flip the paper over and do the other side, so you end up with two triangle shaped score lines at the bottom of the sides of the box.

You can see where to score the paper in the image below.

Cut off the pieces shown below using your scissors. You will trim off the top and bottom sections where you scored the half inch line. You will also cut off along the top score line, leaving only a 3 inch by 2-inch rectangle. Then, cut along the two-inch, 5 inch, and 7-inch score lines, just to the bottom horizontal line.

Fold along all the score lines and assemble your box using double sided adhesive, leaving the top flap open.

Use the Corner Chomper scallop edge punch to punch each corner of the top flap.

Fold the top flap into the inside of the box and use the Crop-A-Dile to punch two holes close to the each edge of the box.

Create a heart shaped embellishment using patterned paper and the clear cut heart punch.

Use the ampersand from the Rise & Shine embossing folders to emboss the shape onto the heart using the Evolution Advanced. I used a sanding block to distress the edges of the embossed “&” to make it stand out a little more.

Thread ribbon out through the holes in the back of the box and then in through the front flap holes. Attach the heart shape and tie the ribbon in a bow.

You can create these boxes in any color or design that fits your wedding theme. You can choose a different embossed accent for the heart shape or even add your monogram or names to the front of the bags using a stamp or a sticker. Then simply fill the bag with the treat of your choice.

Envelope Punch Board Card

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly Crawford here with a fun card that seems kind of backwards. Instead of putting the card in an envelope, I used the envelope as a design element, and used it to hold a special surprise! When I was using the We R Memory Keepers Mini Envelope Punch Board, I noticed something perfect! So, my scrapbooking friends, you can now rock card-making as well with my little tip!

The Mini Envelope Punch Board has the measurements for many different sized envelopes printed on the tool. I think that is the smartest thing ever! As I was looking through the chart, I noticed measurements for a 3”x4” envelope. Know what else measures 3”x4”? Journaling cards! All those sweet cards on 12×12 paper, that I hoard. Well, they can now fit inside their own envelope! Sweet!

This punch board is fantastic! I am totally obsessed! My second favorite feature of the Mini Envelope Punch Board is the punching part at the top. It has this extension piece that helps perfectly line up the score line. I have struggled with that in the past, but no more!

I created the card and the layers from papers and stickers in the Pebbles Happy Hooray collection. Its colorful and fun. It is also perfect timing because yesterday my little boy turned 12! This card will be perfect for him!

Once I created the envelope, I tucked a 3×4 journaling card and a gift card inside! Yes! A gift card also fits inside this envelope. Whoop!

The envelope was tied closed with baker’s twine and adhered to the card.

Here is a closer look at what is inside the envelope. When making envelopes like this, try and find two-sided paper. Adding color and design to the inside is so fun. Hello balloon animals!

So, who is ready to make inside-out cards? What surprises will you put inside your envelope?

Valentine’s Day Card with the Score Board

Hello We R fans! Kimberly Crawford here today with a Valentine’s Day card. I don’t know what it is, but I love, love, love making cards for Valentine’s Day! Maybe its because red is my favorite color, but I am guessing it mostly has to do with the fact that I get to send cards to people who mean so much to me! One way to make my cards really stand out is by creating a rosette. Making rosettes of all sizes is a breeze with the We R Memory Keepers Score Board!

Rosettes are a folded circle of sorts. They add a ton of dimension. I love how I see large rosettes being hung on walls for party décor, so I thought, why not make a card-sized version? While I am sharing a smaller size, you can easily adapt these instructions to create rosettes for scrapbook layouts or large ones for party décor!

Valentine's Day Card by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To create a card-sized rosette, begin by cutting a piece of patterned paper measuring 1” wide by 12” long. Using the We R Memory Keepers Score Board, score the paper every ½” for the entire length of the strip of paper.

Tip: Place the paper slightly below the top of the scoring space. When you place your scoring tool inside the line groove at the top, sliding down from there over the paper makes the score lines cleaner.

Once the score lines are completed, fold the paper to create mountains and valleys. Meaning you will fold the paper forward on one score line, and then backward on the next score line.

After the entire strip of patterned paper has been folded, adhere the ends together, making sure to continue the pattern. Use strong adhesive.

Clear Cut Circle Punch by We R Memory Keepers

A flat circle needed to be created to hold the rosette in place. The We R Memory Keepers Clear Cut Circle Punch was the ideal size. A circle was punched from the same patterned paper, as the first step.

Cover the punched circle with glue, strong glue. Push the center of the scored paper circle down to create the rosette. Carefully place it over the top of the glue. It will need to be held this in place for several minutes. Consider laying something down on top of it, to keep everything adhering as flat as possible.

Once the rosette is dry, go ahead and embellish and decorate it. I used the Pebbles, Inc. collection, Forever My Always to add special touches. With rosettes, pennants always seem to add a nice contrast to the circular shape. Plus, that heart-shaped die cut in the middle of the rosette is perfect!
