Outer Space Party Decor with the Foil Quill

Hello We R Memory Keepers fans! Soraya here today to share a birthday party theme decor using the amazing Foil Quill! I’m so excited to show you another way of using this fantastic tool : with adhesive vinyl!

First of all, you will need navy blue adhesive vinyl by DCWV and Champagne foil in the Foil Quill collection. Place the vinyl on your cutting mat and use the scrapper Basic Tool to flatten it. Then place the foil sheet on the vinyl, make sure it is completely flattened and stretched, then secure it down using the placement tape. Here is another tip: use the mini rotaty cutter to cut the foil!

Grab the A adaptator if you work on a Silhouette machine like me and screw the Standard Tip inside. Plug the tip to a power bank and wait five-ten minutes until it heats. Place the cutting mat in your Silhouette then you’re ready to launch the foiling and cutting process!

I used the pretty designs in one of the five USB drives and went with the moon, stars and planet! In my Silhouette Studio software, I first choose the designs then made the contours to cut them all.

And the magic happened! Look how shiny and bright the Champagne Foil is on the blue navy adhesive vinyl! Love the contrast!

I also used the Alphabet Punch Board to create a “To The Moon And Back” banner.

A Birthday Card + More with the Gift Bow Die

30 days of evolution

Hello!  It’s Jennie McGarvey here with you today to share a project I created with two of my favorite We R Memory Keepers metal dies.  These two have been in my stash for a long time, years in fact and I reach for them often.  It was easy for me to settle on these two to share with you as the Nesting Stars and Gift Bow are so fun.  They are also perfect together for a birthday card!

I started with my Evolution Advanced, the 6×6 Clearly Bold pad and the two metal dies I already mentioned.

Putting the whole thing together was simple with these dies!  Just add a sprinkle of Sequin Stickers in turquoise and in white and you’re all set!

I couldn’t stop there, however.  Once I had the Evolution Advanced out and the bow die it was much too simple to create a few bow paper clips perfect to use with my planner!

I simply cut the 6×6 Clearly Bold papers with the bow die and attached them to some oversized Pebbles paper clips!

How are you using some of the older We R Memory Keepers dies that are in your stash?  Make sure you share with us on Facebook or tag us on Instagram to share with us how you’re using We R Memory Keepers metal dies and Evolution Advanced!

Birthday Gift Bag

To finish off Birthday Month here at the We R blog, we’re sharing a birthday gift bag featuring a sneak peek of one of our most popular tools that debuted at CHA this summer in Las Vegas.  Take a look at how you can combine two of our hottest new tools to create decorative and unique wrapping perfect for any gift.

Start by trimming your paper according to the directions on the Gift Bag Punch Board.  Then, using your favorite 2 Edge Punch, punch a border across the edge that will end up at the top of the bag.

Next, punch and score the bottom edge of the bag by following the directions on the Gift Bag Punch Board.  Your paper should end up with the top and bottom edges as shown in the photo below.

Fold the top edge of the bag down about 2 inches and punch holes as directed on the Gift Bag Punch Board.

Unfold the top edge of the bag, then fold and adhere the gift bag together.  Finish up by folding down the top edge of the bag and tying it with ribbon and a tag.  Add a washi tape border down the front for a fun twist.

Watch for four new Punch Boards (including the Gift Bag Punch Board) to start shipping this fall–just in time for the holidays!

Birthday Layout with Cards Included

One common issue for many scrapbookers is how to include birthday cards on their layouts.  The Albums Made Easy photo sleeves are a great solution for this dilemma.  Take a look at my birthday layout below to find out how I was able to include some birthday cards.
For this layout I used two different photo sleeve configurations–a 6×4 landscape photo sleeve configuration for the left side of my page, and for my right side I used a 6×4 with 6×6 configuration so I could fit my cards.

I simply used some 6×6 Simply Spring papers for the 6×6 pockets and rounded the corners with my 1/2″ Corner Chomper.  Then I added Memo 3×4 Albums Made Easy Journaling Cards and adhered the birthday cards to the background papers.  I punched some tabs with the File Tab Punch, added a strip of text, and adhered them to the front edge of the birthday cards with some Tab Stickers.

Then I slid the whole thing into the 6×6 photo sleeve pocket with the back of the card inside the pocket, and the front of the cards outside the pocket so that they can be opened and read when we browse through our album.

Here are a few more details of my layout.

I cut the large number 3 from a 4×6 Memo Textured Cardstock Card using my Cricut machine.  I love using the smaller textured cardstock cards for punching and die cutting–that way I don’t have to cut into a full 12×12 sheet of textured cardstock.

As I’ve mentioned before, I love to cut out bits and pieces from the AME journaling cards to use as accents on my layouts.  That way I can create my own custom journaling cards.

There are so many different Albums Made Easy photo sleeve configurations, that you’re sure to find one that will meet your scrapbooking needs.  Try mixing and matching different configurations to fit your photos and memorabilia.
