DIY Christmas Hoops

Hello everyone! It’s Eva on the blog today sharing 3 different Christmas hoops made with a few We R Tools!

DIY Christmas Hoops by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

Before scrapbook, I used to do a lot of embroidery and have some supplies in boxes: threads, needles and of course hoops. This year I decided to use some of those hoops to create some Christmas decorations. I love to reuse things and create something beautiful with things I already have!

I created three hoops using different tools, the first one is a mini pom pom hoop. Choose some colored yarns and create small pom poms, We R has a Jumbo Pom Pom Maker and also a set of three pom poms , the smallest one is really cute and I haven’t seen that size a lot! Is perfect for embellishing mini books and small decor projects.

We R Memory Keepers Pom Pom Maker

Use your Precision Scissors to cut the yarn and trim a bit your pom pom.

We R Memory Keepers Pom Pom Maker and Precision Scissors

To glue your pom poms to the hoop use the USB Hot Glue Gun, I love that I don’t need to have and outlet nearby! I simply use my phone’s power bank!

We R Memory Keepers USB Mini Glue Gun

Finally, use the Bow Loom to create the perfect bow and decorate the top of your pom pom hoop.

We R Memory Keepers Bow LoomDIY Christmas Hoops by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

For the second pom pom hoop I used my Tag Clear Punch and made 9 banners in different colors. I bend them creating a banner and then put some letters on top.

We R Memory Keepers Clear Cut Tag Punch

With the Word Punch Board you can customize your hoops and soon you will have the chance to create numbers and symbols, how cool is that?

We R Memory Keepers Word Punch Board

Finally I embellished my hoop with some die cuts from Pebbles’ Christmas line Cozy & Bright.

The last hoop is my favorite! I used the Stitch Happy Pen to write a word on felt. I used my Stitch Happy white thread and it was so easy and fast! I really like how it turned out.

To give my hoop a nice and polished look; I cut the felt, glued it to the back of the hoop and also put a felt circle in the back to protect my work.

These Christmas hoops are perfect for my tree but you can also use them to decorate a wall or to give them to a friend! Which one is your favorite?

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes

Hello everyone! It’s Eva on the blog today sharing some treat bag ideas using the Pillow Box Punch Board and some of my favorite We R Tools!

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I love to give small treats to neighbors and friends and I think a pretty decorated packaging can turn a small and inexpensive gift into something really cute and festive! To create these cute boxes I used my Pillow Box Punch Board, it’s easy and you can use your favorite patterned papers.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I used some papers from the Merry Days collection by Crate Paper. Follow the instructions on the board and don’t forget to punch the notch with the Reverse Punch on the top of the board.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory KeepersDIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I made three different pillow boxes, the first one is really simple: a big bow and a sentiment and you are ready!

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

To create the bow I used the Bow Loom, simply choose the bow size, put your ribbon through the tool and tie in the middle with a small thread.

We R Memory Keepers Bow LoomWe R Memory Keepers Bow LoomWe R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

Remove the ribbon and glue a small piece of the same ribbon on top. I love that I can create double and even triple bows easily!

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

Next, I used my Word Punch Board to add a sentiment. I spelled Falala but you could also put your recipient’s name, which would be very cute! I covered the back with patterned paper to make the word stand a bit more.

We R Memory Keepers Word Punch BoardDIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

For my next pillow box I used my Stitch Happy Pen to create a sentiment with Stitch Happy Twine.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

The Stitch Happy Pen is perfect for adding small and intricate sewing into your projects, and it is so much easier and faster than hand stitching!

Thread the Stitch Happy Pen with some Stitch Happy Twine and write your sentiment on white cardstock. Don’t make it too small or your paper might tear while you are stitching.

We R Memory Keepers Stitch Happy PenWe R Memory Keepers Stitch Happy Pen

Tip: slowly stitch your word making sure you use the tool perpendicular to the cardstock and that the thread always points backwards towards your previous stitch.

Secure the loops with the backing sticker and cut your sentiment.  I also used some twine and a few die cuts to embellish my box.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I decorated the last pillow box with some hanging embellishments. Really easy and fun!

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

First, use the Tassel Loom and the Stitch Happy Twine to create a small tassel, with this tool you will have perfectly even and cute tassels every time! Embellish your tassel with some Stitch Happy Gold thread and even the edges.

We R Memory Keepers Tassel LoomWe R Memory Keepers Tassel Loom

Next, use your Happy Jig create a small tree with gold wire (you can find the design on the Happy Jig Instruction Booklet that comes with the tool).

We R Memory Keepers Happy JigWe R Memory Keepers Happy Jig

I couldn’t resist to this vellum paper from the Merry Days collection and cut a little piece with my Dial Trimmer and the waved blade.

We R Memory Keepers Dial Trimmer

Finally I made a small bow with the Stitch Happy Gold thread and my Bow Loom. Wrap the thread a few times and you will have a subtle embellishment.

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

And what did I put inside these cute boxes? Since I was a little girl I always loved candied almonds and recently I found a big pack with cute pastel colors! I think they would be perfect for my neighbors’ gifts this year!

Do you make small treat boxes for your friends? Hopefully you can use some of these ideas to create a fun and yummy treat this year!

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page

Hello, hello!  It’s Rebecca here today and I can’t believe how close we are to Christmas!  I know it’s still 6 weeks away, but that 6 weeks goes by so fast!  For me, so many things get lost in the holiday hustle, so this year I’m making more of an effort to not let that happen.  I don’t do too much in the way of scrapbooking, but every now and then, something extra special transpires, and I’ll want to remember it (and my feelings about it) forever.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Last December, I was buried in work and trying to meet deadlines and my kids were driving me crazy!  I think they were arguing, then wrestling, then arguing, then high-pitched screaming.  I finally separated them and told them to do something creative.  My then-7-year-old son took it upon himself to write a letter to Santa Claus and when he showed it to me later that night, my heart melted.  I held onto this letter all year and as the kids have been talking about starting their letters to Santa early this year, I pulled it out and decided this was just the sort of thing I wanted to remember.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I scanned the original letter into the computer and shrunk it down just a bit with photo editing software, then re-printed it.  I did this because I wanted to make it a little smaller to work with my 12×12 patterned paper, and because I had the idea that I wanted it to be sticking out of an envelope.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

How awesome is it that I could make my own envelope, in the size I wanted to use, with my 1-2-3 Punch Board?!  I could have used a boring long white envelope, but this way, I also got to use the patterned paper I wanted.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I followed the easy directions to create an envelope that was 4” W x 8” L from some Crate Paper Fa La La paper.  After assembling the envelope, I made an extra fold to the bottom flap, simply folding the top portion over to create a lower, flattened opening rather than the taller, pointed version.  This also allows for the addition of some extra embellishments in that space.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I backed the letter copy with red cardstock and slid it into the envelope, tucking various die cuts into the front of the envelope for more color.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Texture and dimension are often a key design element in whatever I’m creating, and that was no different here.  I ruffled gold and white crepe papers along the sides of the back of my letter/envelope ensemble, as well as scraps of gold crepe along the top and bottom edges.  Then I adhered it all to the green buffalo check base paper.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

There were a few more small touches to put in place before my layout was complete; I jotted down the journaling part so I could indeed remember this moment—and my first instinct really was to go out that night and get my son ‘a cute litl pup’!  (But we didn’t, and we still don’t have a dog so…)

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Because this is a holiday layout, I thought it would be apropos to include a glittery ribbon bow and a tassel, both of which were easily made with We R Memory Keepers tools—the Bow and Tassel Looms, respectively.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory KeepersHoliday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Like I mentioned, I don’t do too much scrapbooking or memory keeping, but every time I do, I remember how fun and satisfying it is.  Just as I will get sentimental looking back at this page years from now, I’m sure my son will enjoy it, too…but I doubt it will make up for the fact that Santa did not bring him a puppy that Christmas!

Thanksgiving Hoop Wreath with the Bow Loom

Hey there We R fans! Laura here today sharing how to make this pretty Thanksgiving hoop wreath using the new bow loom. Making bows is so easy with this fun tool, and you can create a variety of sizes and styles of bows using one tool.

Thanksgiving Hoop Wreath with the Bow Loom by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I started by adding some wired gold burlap ribbon on the hoop. Simply take the hoop apart and place a strip of burlap between the two pieces, leaving some of the ribbon outside of each side of the hoop. Add a long piece of ribbon to hang the wreath with at the top while you have the hoop open. Tighten the hoop closed.

I added gold Thickers letters to the burlap to spell out the word ‘thankful’. They seem to be sticking okay, but I may need to add some hot glue to the backs if I find they are popping off.

Now onto the fun part of creating some bows for the wreath! The bow loom is easy to use. It is marked with various widths, so you can make the perfect size bow. You can wrap your ribbon around as many times as you want to create the number of loops you want.

I love those big beautiful bows you see on wreaths that have lots of different ribbons all attached together to make one big, gorgeous bow. I knew I could use the bow loom to create a bow like this.

I started by using large 2” wide wired ribbon. I wrapped the ribbon once on the bow loom at the 8-inch marks.

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

I twisted a long piece of floral wire to cinch up the middle of the bow. You can also use string for this step, but I think floral wire is easier when adding more ribbons to the bow. Pull the ribbon off the bow loom and trim the ends. Leave the ends of the twisted floral wire long to attach the other two bows.

Next, I used some thinner gold ribbon. I wrapped it around twice at the 6-inch mark on the bow loom. Use the wire from the first bow and twist it around the center of the new gold bow, so that both bows are attached to each other using the same floral wire. Remove the ribbon from the loom and trim the ends.

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

Lastly, add another thin brown and gold ribbon to the other two bows. This time I used the four-inch mark on the bow loom and created three loops for this final bow.

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

Once the al the ribbons are attached together use a small piece of brown and gold ribbon to wrap around the middle. Secure it on the back with hot glue.

I also created three smaller double looped bows using the bow loom. I used the 3-inch mark and the thinner ribbon. I used floral wire to cinch the middle of the bow and then wrapped another piece of ribbon around the middle of the bow to give it a finished look.

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

Once I had all my bows made, I added some different florals stems to the bottom of the hoop using hot glue. I hot glued on all the bows – the larger one in the middle and the three smaller ones on top.

This wreath turned out so beautiful and the gold touches are so pretty in person. The big bow turned out even better than I had hoped.

The smaller bows at the top add a fun and whimsical touch to the wreath.

Halloween Cupcake Toppers

Hey there We R friends! It’s Aly here again with some fun Halloween party decor to share with you. I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I’m creating a holiday themed project I just can’t seem to find the right themed supplies that works with what I’ve imagined in my mind. When that happens, I turn to my non-holiday themed supplies and get creative!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

This Halloween season I’ve been inspired by ravens, owls, moths, and other vintage style critter images. I wanted to create something like that for my cupcake toppers, but I didn’t have a Halloween themed stamp that looked anything like that. So, I grabbed my Precision Press Advanced, the CMYK Bird Layered Stamps, some silver, grey, and black ink pads, and went to work!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers 5

The CMYK Stamps are made to work with the CMYK Ink Pads, which is how I usually create with them. But this time, I used a grayscale color scheme instead of the cyan, magenta, yellow and black to create a different look.

Halloween Cupcake Toppers by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers 6

I picked four colors of ink: silver, grey, charcoal and black, and followed the same sequence of stamping as I do with the CMYK Stamps: charcoal first, grey second, silver third, and black last.

We R Memory Keepers Precision Press Advanced

Once I stamped all of my black birds, I used my Detail Scissors to fussy cut the shapes. To dress up my cupcakes, I made some cupcake wrappers with the DIY Party Board and some black marble paper from the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection.

step out 2

Then I glued the wrappers together, and glued some black and write striped straw segments to my blackbirds with the USB Power Mini Glue Gun. Hot glue is my go-to adhesive for 3D paper crafts.

We R Memory Keepers USB Power Mini Glue Gun

To finish off my cupcake toppers, I added black seguin stickers for the eyes, and black floss bows I made with the Bow Loom and some black Stitch Happy thread.

I love the texture that the monochromatic colors and the layered stamps create!

The toppers together with the black marble cupcake wrappers look pretty cool too!

3 Gift Wrap Ideas for Treats

Hello We R friends, it’s Aly here! One of my favorite things to gift during the holidays is baked goods and treats. Today I’ve got three gift wrap ideas for edible gifts. These goodie bags are unique, easy to make, and will leave your recipient with a smile.

Halloween Gift Wrap Ideas by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

My gift wrap is Halloween themed, but you can modify yours to fit the holidays or any other occasion you need. Just change the colors, the sentiment, and the wrapping paper or patterned paper.

Halloween Gift Wrap Ideas by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

I started by making a simple Goodie Bag using the Goodie Bag Guide and some holiday Glassine Papers.

step out 1

I followed the instructions that come with the Goodie Bag Guide, filled it with some fall colored candy, and embellished it with some DIY tassels I made with the Stitch Happy Metallic Thread and the Tassel Loom. Tip: I used a small scrap of Happy Jig wire to create the metal rings for my bitty tassels.

step out 3

Next I used the 123 Punch Board to create a small String Tie Box to hold some sweets. I followed the instruction booklet that comes with the board to make the tie box, and used the measurements on the board to make this 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 inch box.

I made a simple sentiment with the Word Punch Board and then added a handmade bow that I made with some Stitch Happy Thread and the Bow Loom.

To embellish the treat pouch I made a mini pom pom with the small DIY Party Pom Pom Maker and some black Stitch Happy Thread. I love the more ragged look of a thread/floss pom pom for Halloween!

A tool that I often combine with my Word Punch Board is the Washi Chomper. They’re the perfect pair for making banner shaped sentiments and words!

3 Handmade Gift Wrap Ideas

Hi everybody! Soraya here today to share 3 ways to make beautiful gift wrap using the new We R Memory Keepers gifting tools: the Bow Loom, the Jumbo Pompom Maker and the Tassel Loom!

3 Handmade Gift Wrap Ideas by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Let’s start by making a giant pompom! The Jumbo Pompom Maker is easy and fun to use, first of all you have to wrap the yarn of your choice around the 2 arms. Then close them for the Pompom Maker to look like a circle.

Jumbo Pom Pom Maker by We R Memory KeepersJumbo Pom Pom Maker by We R Memory Keepers

Use your scissors to cut the yarn in between the arms and proceed this way all around the perimeter. Tie a knot in the middle and open the arms to free the big pompom!

To cut the paper wrap I used the amazing Gift Wrap Trimmer and added the pompom like the cherry on top!

Here is another fun tutorial to make beautiful tassel! You can follow the instructions you have in the packaging but basically all you have to do is to wrap some thread or yarn around the opened Tassel Loom.

We R Memory Keepers Tassel LoomWe R Memory Keepers Tassel Loom

Then tie a knot in the middle of the loom (this knot will help hanging the tassel). Cut the the looped material on both edges. Close the Tassel Loom then tie another knot before popping out the final tassel!

I decided to go with some gold thread in order to decorate the top of the tassel. Love the sparkly touch!

Time to wrap it all (still with the Gift Wrap Trimmer) and decorate the present with girly embellishments.

Pleated Wrapping Paper

Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a gift wrapping idea using a few We R Memory Keepers tools.

Have you ever seen pleated wrapping paper? I came across it on Pinterest, and got hooked! I think it’s elegant and very unique, and it really makes an impact.

Pleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

For these boxes I used the Gift Wrap Book from the Crate Paper Willow Lane collection. Although the design is more noticeable on solid wrapping paper, I’m a sucker for patterned paper, so that’s what I used today 🙂

I started by folding a 9×24 inch paper in half. Then, using the Tri-Fold Magnetic Mat, I positioned the 18 inch ruler that comes with it above the crease, and folded the paper over it – This mat is perfect if you need to keep your paper in place without shifting.

Pleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory KeepersPleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

Next, I folded the first crease on top of the second, and doubled the paper again, like in the photos below.

Pleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory KeepersPleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory KeepersPleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

This gave me the middle pleat, which became my base for the other two. Each pleat is about ½ inch, but you could easily vary the size if you wanted to. The width of the We R Memory Keepers ruler worked really well in this case, as the pleats are about half its size.

Pleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory KeepersPleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

To keep the pleats in place, I adhered tape on the back – I used washi tape here to show how you would hold it together, but clear tape or double-sided adhesive would be ideal.

After wrapping up the box, I worked on the embellishments. I love how the Bow Loom allows you to make perfect bows in a variety of sizes. Here I created a Three Wraps Ribbon in no time.

Last, I made some mini tassels with the Tassel Loom on the 2 inch size, and finished decorating the boxes.

I am pleased with the way these turned out, and hope you’ll feel inspired to give pleated wrapping paper a try!

Autumn Hoop

Hello, all!  I’m Rebecca Luminarias and I’m so, so excited to be joining the WRMK design team!  I’m even more excited to share an autumn-inspired décor project with you that I created using some of the coolest WRMK tools!  I’ve been seeing these cute gold hoops embellished with florals and greenery all over Pinterest and Instagram, so I thought I’d put my own spin on one.

Autumn Hoop by Rebecca Luminaria for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Jumbo Pom Pom Maker

I picked up the hoop at a local craft store.  It’s 8,” which was the perfect size for using the WRMK Circle Spin & Trim.  I easily cut an 8” circle from Pebbles Spooky Boo buffalo check paper and adhered it to the back of the hoop with hot glue, being sure to string a length of copper glitter ribbon between the top of the hoop and the paper layer (this will allow me to hang it on the wall when it’s finished).

Autumn Hoop by Rebecca Luminaria for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Jumbo Pom Pom maker, Bow Loom, and Circle Spin & Trim

I decorated the paper backing with Spooky Boo Thickers and Amy Tangerine Shine On die cuts, as well as some peach crepe paper and lace.  I adhered the die cuts with American Crafts 3-D foam dots to give them dimension.

Autumn Hoop by Rebecca Luminaria for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Jumbo Pom Pom Maker

Autumn makes me think of things like warm, cozy textures and sweater weather, so I made 2 huge yarn pom poms with the Jumbo Pom Pom Maker in gray and mustard-yellow.  These pom poms are so big and fluffy, and the Jumbo Pom Pom Maker makes it easy to create them.

Autumn Hoop by Rebecca Luminaria for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Jumbo Pom Pom maker, Bow Loom, and Circle Spin & Trim

When I first started making pom poms, I used to wind the yarn around the palm of my hand.  The end result was uneven and unruly and took quite a bit of time to trim and finish.  I’m so glad this tool exists because I can’t imagine having to do that to create pom poms this big!  For what it’s worth, I tend to choose a thicker yarn when I make pom poms instead of a thinner one; it makes the finished product seem much fuller and sturdier.

Jumbo Pom Pom Maker by We R Memory Keepers

The final touch was the blue and copper bow that I made with the Bow Loom, which is awesome!  I love to decorate gift packaging and bows and gifts go hand-in-hand.  Even if I’m not wrapping a present, I find that a bow makes a great finisher to many projects—like my fall decorative hoop.

Autumn Hoop by Rebecca Luminaria for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Bow Loom

I made a 3” bow with ¾” blue grosgrain ribbon and a ¼” copper glitter accent trim.  Following the directions for a single wrap bow, I wrapped the blue ribbon around the tool as directed, then held it in place and repeated the steps with the copper ribbon.  I completed the final steps and ended up with the gorgeous bow you see on my hoop.

Autumn Hoop by Rebecca Luminaria for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Bow Loom

I love bows with different trims but have always found them very fussy to create—until now, thanks to the Bow Loom!  It has definitely upped my creative game.  I simply adhered the bow on the right side of my hoop with hot glue, and my project was complete.

Autumn Hoop by Rebecca Luminaria for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Jumbo Pom Pom Maker

This is the first piece of fall décor that I’ve put up this year, and it’s definitely put me in a cooler-weather, apple-picking, candle-burning kind of mood.  Thanks for hanging out and sharing my very first WRMK project with me today!
