Make Custom Christmas Ornaments with the Spin It Ornament Arm Kit

Hello We R fans! It’s Eva on the blog today showing you how to customize your Christmas ornaments with the Spin it machine.

Custom Christmas Ornament with the Spin It Ornament Arm by We R Memory Keepers

The Spin it machine is perfect to customize tumblers and now it has a new accessory: an ornament attachment! It is very easy to use and the results are beautiful.

Prepare your Spin it machine by removing the cup attachment and inserting the ornament one. Screw the attachment all the way into the machine, so the ornament doesn’t fall while curing the epoxy.

Hold the ornament with the foam included in the kit and start decorating your ornament. I decided to paint the ornament white because I had a bright green ball, but you don’t necessarily need to do this step.

Spin It Ornament Arm Kit by We R Memory Keepers

To decorate the ornament I used mica powders. Prepare some epoxy resin with the  We R Epoxy Kit, 30 ml of each color was more than enough to cover all the ornament.

I divided my resin in two cups and added a small spoon of mica powder to each one. Stir the powder until the mix is even.

Now it is time for the fun part! I wanted my ornament to have different strips of color, so I turned on my Spin it machine and place the epoxy over my ball one line at a time. You don’t need to be very precise, the epoxy will move while the ornament is spinning and colors will blend beautifully.

I also added a few drops here and there, that created fun circles in my ornament! When your ornament is finished you can add some glitter; I wanted to add some, but I finally decided not to, because I wanted you to be able to see the mica powder effect perfectly.

Leave you ornament spinning 4 hours and work on your decorations in the meantime.

To decorate my ornament, I used my Bow Loom to create a fun and festive red bow. The 4 inch bow was the perfect size.

Next, I used my electronic cutting machine and the Holiday USB drive with Foil Quill designs to cut a “noel” word with white vinyl.

Using the Weeding pick tool, weed the vinyl and get it ready to transfer to the ornament.

Finally, use you USB Glue Gun to glue the ribbon to the ornament.

This ornament was fun and easy to do, the mica powders give a very nice finish, my son told me the ornament looked like a planet and he is right! I love the effect!

I hope you give this craft a go, you can include the family last name and give these as Christmas gifts, I am sure everyone will love them!

Thanks for joining me and have a great day!

DIY Holiday Ornaments with the Spin It Ornament Arm Kit

Hey there We R friends, Laura here today. Making glitter ornaments is fun, but if you have ever made them, then you know what a mess they can be after you take them off the tree. Now, you can create epoxy ornaments using the Spin It tool and the ornament arm attachment. This fully seals in the glitter to create a hard-shiny coating.

DIY Ornaments with the Spin It Ornament Arm by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

To start with you will remove the Spin It arm by rotating it counterclockwise. Attach the ornament arm by rotating it clockwise until it is tight. Check the depth of your ornament and then wrap the arm with adhesive foam. You may need one or two pieces depending on the diameter of your opening.

DIY Ornaments with the Spin It Ornament Arm by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Apply glitter to your ornament by coating the ornament with adhesive and then sprinkling it on. Turning the Spin It to low while sprinkling the glitter on gives you a nice even coat. I did two different designs of glitter. On the teal ornament I used both chunky and fine glitter. On the red and green one, I did the top half in red and the bottom in green. Allow the glitter to dry.

DIY Ornaments with the Spin It Ornament Arm by Laura Silva for We R Memory KeepersDIY Ornaments with the Spin It Ornament Arm by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Mix your epoxy according to the package directions. Usually, you measure equal parts of A and B and then stir slowly to combine for about 2 minutes.

With the ornament rotating, slowly pour on your epoxy. Use your stir stick to spread the epoxy over the ornament. Allow the ornament to rotate on low for about 4 hours. The epoxy will still be slightly tacky at this time, so allow the ornament to cure completely for 24 hours.

Do 2 – 3 coats of epoxy for the best coverage over the glitter. You can see on the red and green ornament below, I only did one coat of epoxy, and while the glitter is sealed, the epoxy looks a little lumpy. This can be fixed by doing additional coats. Lightly sand the ornament in between coats.

To embellish your ornament, you can use the Tassel Loom to create a cute little tassel to hang from your ornament. I made a yarn tassel for the teal ornament and baker’s twine tassel for the red and green ornament.

I love that I can create beautiful glitter ornaments without all the mess. These ornaments will last for years to come.

Holiday Treats with the DIY Party Board

Hello We R Memory Keepers fans! Soraya here to share some holiday treats to offer to your family and friends because Christmas is around the corner! It’s the most wonderful time of the year and at We R Memory Keepers we have the best tools to inspire you creating cute and fun treats!

Holiday Treats by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

To make these five boxes and pouches I used the amazing DIY Party Board. This board allows you to create so many different projects! We’ll be making a little basket, a treat pouch, a chocolate bar paper wrap, a French fry cone and a Christmas tree! So you’ll need patterned papers, scissors, felt, embellishments and the Circle Clear Cut Punch.

Santa’s basket:  use the DIY Party Board to create a big cup wrap with a 10×10 red patterned paper. Add a thin strip of paper to create the handle of the basket and cut some pieces of felt to create Santa’s belt and some snow all around the cup. Place some yummy chocolate in a plastic bag before putting them into the basket!

The candy cone: use a 7×7 patterned paper to create a french fry cone and decorate it with a border of gold fringe and some silver stars! Now you just need to fill it with chocolate and candy canes. So cute!

The Christmas tree: use a 6×6 patterned paper to create the shape of a mini party hat that will turn into a Christmas tree! Add a star on top and some red baker’s twine all around the tree as a garland. Stick some pearls and use the Circle Clear Cut Punch to create a circle base that will be the chocolate holder! So fun to hide the chocolate inside the tree!

Christmas Treat Boxes with the 123 Punch Board

Hello everyone!  It’s Eva here today bringing you a festive Candy Box with a window and a big bow made with the 1,2,3 Punch Board.

Christmas Treat Box with the 123 Punch Board and Clear Cut Punch by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

Candy Boxes are a great gift for friends, neighbors or work colleagues. They are easy to make and you can make them in a batch using just a few supplies. I made mine using the new Merry Merry line from Pebbles Inc.

Use your 1,2,3 Punch Board to make a medium size box. All the instructions are already on the board so it is super easy!

123 Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

Use one of your Clear Cut Punches to cut windows on two sides of your box.

To make the big bow cut paper strips to make one Medium Bow Base, 3 Medium Bows and 2 Small Bows. Punch only the Small bows and the Bow Base because the other ones are going to be covered.

Use your Crop a Dile to make small holes on the middle of your bows and layered them. At the end, use a brad to hold everything together.

Use gold printed acetate sheets to cover the windows and decorate your boxes with a small sticker or die cut.

Fill your boxes with your favorite treat. I love Milk Toffee treats, they remind me when I was little and my dad used to buy me and my sister a bag at the movies. I don’t know if you can find toffees in the States but they are easy to make! (I will leave the recipe at the end of the post) you can add walnuts at the end too.

Ornament Treat Bags

Hello, We R friends! Laura here today to kick off Holiday Treats week. Often around the holidays I like to bake homemade goodies, but to be honest, I don’t always have time to create something from scratch. If I can’t bake something, my next go to treat is candy – in particular, anything nostalgic. For Christmas this means candy canes, peppermint Christmas nougats, peanut brittle, or hard candies.

Ornament Treat Bag by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Today, I am going to show you how to make these adorable ornament treat bags with only a few simple supplies like the goodie bag guide. These little bags would work great as party favors or even to pass out at a class party.

Start by choosing some pretty holiday papers. Mine are all from the DCWV All About Christmas Paper Stack. Use the Goodie Bag guide to create a treat bag that is 3 ½” wide.

Goodie Bag Guide by We R Memory Keepers

Before you assemble the bag, use the clear cut circle punch to cut a circle in the bottom half of the front of the bag. The clear cut punch works great for this because you can position it exactly where you want it. Assemble the bag using adhesive.

Create a 3” pouch using one of the 4” photo sleeve waterfall sleeves and your FUSE tool. Fill it with your favorite candy and then fuse the top closed.

Decorate the front of your treat bag with a ribbon, a small gold or silver rectangle, and a ribbon bow. I attached everything with my Sticky Thumb adhesive.

Place the fused candy bag inside the treat bag, fold over the top, and seal it with adhesive.

The candies make a perfect little ornament showing through on the front of the bag. You could also fill the ornament treat bag with a cookie, brownie, or any other homemade treat, as well!

Christmas Countdown Light Strand

Hello and welcome back to the blog today! Chantalle with you, to share a sweet and simple, festive idea. I’ve used a PhotoLights Photo Frame Strand, my computer and some PhotoLights Printable Backlit Film Paper to create a light-up countdown calendar, which will make the long wait for the jolly man in red, just a bit more fun!

Christmas Countdown Light Strand by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

Print off numbers or phrases to switch out daily in the lead up to Christmas!

Christmas Countdown Light Strand by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

I’ve combined my numbers with the word ‘sleeps’ to let my kiddos know how many more agonizing sleeps there are to go!

Christmas Countdown Light Strand by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

I started by heading off to a free font website like DaFont or Squirrel Fonts and checking out their festive options. There is a huge variety of scripts, ornamental and decorative typefaces to choose from!

I then went about measuring the little lightboxes in the Photo Strand with my Supreme Ruler and then set some text inside coloured boxes to fit. (I have used Illustrator but you could also use any word processing programme.) I printed these boxes off onto some PhotoLights Printable Backlit Film Paper, making sure I printed on the more matte side. Note: If you print on the shinier side, the ink does not adhere to the paper. Fear not though, I made the mistake and the ink wiped off with a baby wipe.

Christmas Countdown Light Strand by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

I used my Supreme Ruler again to trim up all the little films and then placed the ones I was going to be using straight away, on to the photo strand.

Christmas Countdown Light Strand by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

On either end of the strand, I thought it would be cute to pop a little festive icon, like this mistletoe.

Christmas Countdown Light Strand by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

The spare numbers are stored in a little acrylic box. I think this photo strand would make for a great gift. Giving the numbers all prepared in this way is super easy for the recipient to change up the message. Print off multiple copies of the alphabet and you’ve got a great teacher’s gift! The Photo Strand is perfect for any number of occasions!

And now let’s dim the lights please….

My calendar really comes to life when it’s switched on!

You could hang it up indoors or bring it outside for some festive cheer. The battery pack makes it fully portable.

Throwback Thursday: Christmas Countdown with the 123 Punch Board

It’s Thursday, and today we’re throwing things back to Christmas of 2015 with this beautiful countdown made with the 123 Punch Board. Scroll down for more photos and details!

Hey We R Friends, Aimee here to share a fun way to count down to Christmas.

Christmas Countdown by Aimee Maddern for We R Memory Keepers #christmascrafts #123punchboard #christmascountdown

Using the 1-2-3 Punch Board I created this advent Calendar making several different size boxes and bows.

Christmas Countdown by Aimee Maddern for We R Memory Keepers #christmascountdown #christmascrafts #123punchboard

The boxes are the perfect sizes for little trinkets such as Match Box Cars and Shopkins. You could even slip some action figures and my little ponies in them. And for the older kids {me!} you can even slip a gift card in or tie to a box.

Christmas Countdown by Aimee Maddern 3

The boxes are super easy to make too. Check out the video below to see how to make them!

But lets get to the fun part, decorating them!

Christmas Countdown by Aimee Maddern 4

First I shopped my stash for all things Christmas. I found some Gold Glittered Thickers, Gold Paper Clips, Bakers TwineGold BowsWood Veneer, Tiny Deer, Tiny Trees and Ribbon.

Christmas Countdown by Aimee Maddern 5

Christmas Countdown by Aimee Maddern for We R Memory Keepers #christmascountdown #christmascrafts #123punchboard

Then I remembered The 1-2-3 Punch Board makes bows too! Of course I had to make some bows from the punch board, here is another great video showing you how to create the bows.

I choose not to number each box. I just numbered the boxes that I wanted to be opened on specific days {the days we have tickets for the nutcracker and such} and the other boxes can be chosen any of the 25 days leading to Christmas.

Christmas Countdown by Aimee Maddern for We R Memory Keepers #christmascountdown #christmascrafts #123punchboard

To display my Calendar I bought a frame from Ikea and lined the back with some of We R’s Gold Designer Poster Board. I then used some industrial strength double-sided tape to tape each little box to the poster board. And viola I have the cutest little packages tied up with string.

I seriously can’t wait for the first package to be opened!

Do you make or use an advent calendar?

Christmas Photo Ornaments

Hello We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here to share a fun Christmas ornament idea with you using two of my favorite tools. The new Square Punch Board is the perfect tool to pair with the Frame Punch Board.

Photo Frame Ornaments by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

Ornaments with photos are my favorite ornaments. This year, I decided to make ornaments for my brother and his wife. Earlier this Fall I took photos of my nieces and nephews for their family Christmas card. I LOVE how the photos turned out and I knew they would make the perfect ornaments. I started by printing 4×4 photos of each of the kids.

Photo Frame Ornaments by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

Photo Frame Ornaments by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

After the photos were printed, it was time to put my square punch board and the frame punch board to work. I used the square punch board to punch perfect 4” squares. This tool makes squares perfectly every time. When the 4” squares were punched, I simply made them into frames.

Photo Frame Ornaments by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

Using dimensional adhesive I adhered the frames on top of the photos. I wanted to keep the photos the main focus of these ornaments so I kept embellishments to a minimum. All of the embellishments and patterned papers I used are from the Fa La La collection from Crate Paper. I love the traditional feel of this collection mixed with a few modern colors of pink and teal. This collection complimented my photos perfectly!

Photo Frame Ornaments by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

These ornaments make the perfect gift idea! I know my brother and his family will love them for years to come. These photo ornaments would be a perfect gift idea for grandparents too! I know my parents would love to have photos of all the grand kids on their Christmas tree. They’re so easy to create they’re perfect for last minute gifts as well. I hope these Christmas ornaments have inspired you to create some of your own with the square punch board and the frame punch board. Merry Christmas!!
