“Welcome Fall” Sign with the Freestyle Pens

Hello everyone. Enza here, and today I’m sharing a home décor piece created with one of the new We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill Freestyle Pens. These pens are amazing! Easy to use and very versatile. I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive about this assignment. I’m not very good at drawing free-hand and my stash of stencils didn’t include a big, cursive quote that I could trace and “color” with foil. Then I came across a cut file I had been saving for a while. I loved the font and the design, and I thought it would look good enlarged to fit a 12×12 cardstock.

Here it is:

I apologize if I don’t have a full, frontal picture of the project. I wanted to show the beautiful gold foil on the orange cardstock, and this was the best way to do it 😉

I started by cutting the design with my electronic die cutting machine. As I mentioned above, I enlarged the quote to fit a 12×12 paper. I then layered the cardstock, a sheet of 12×12 gold foil, and my cut file on top.

I secured the bottom paper to my work table with the Foil Quill Placement Tape and did the same with the cut file. You want to make sure there is no shifting, so to obtain a clean design.

I used the Foil Quill Freestyle Bold Tip Pen, as the negative space of the cut file was pretty big – another option would be the Calligraphy Tip Pen; it has a wide tip and can help cut down on time.

For the little pieces inside the letters, I just kept them in place with my fingers and went around them with the pen. This is what made the process a bit long, but it was totally worth it in the end.

Once I was done with the quote, I picked a rose gold colored foil sheet from the Foil Quill Flamingo assorted pack and, using the same cut file, I added more shiny dots around the words.

I finished my project with lots of flowers from the Pink Paislee Auburn Lane collection and pom pom ribbon along the top and bottom edges of the paper.

I hope this has given you some more ideas on how to use the amazing Foil Quill Freestyle Pens. Thank you for stopping by.

Foil Quill Patriotic Scrapbook Page

Hello, We R friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a patriotic layout featuring the We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill. I’m amazed by the beautiful results I get every single time; this foiling system is easy to use and, with so many designs to choose from, the possibilities are endless.

Patriotic Scrapbook Page with the Foil Quill by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

When I think of the 4th of July, I think of stars. The Paige Evans digital drive offers several star designs that are perfect to give your projects variety and a fun vibe. I uploaded the images to my Silhouette software and modified their size so to have small, medium and big stars. Make sure to select the Sketch Pen option before sending the paper to cut and secure the foil with tape to ensure it’s wrinkle-free. I went with silver foil for a festive, sparkly look – I love how it looks on dark blue cardstock! Once ready, I fussy cut the stars before layering them to form a cluster behind the photo.

The collection I used is one of my favorites from Pink Paislee: Sweet Freedom; even though it’s a couple of years old, I love the patterns and muted colors. I arranged the stars towards the right side of the layout and placed the photo on top after layering several tags and frames behind it. I used the Tag Punch Board and the Frame Punch Board for this – I don’t know what I would do without such handy tools! Everything was adhered down with foam dots for dimension.

Next, I embellished around the photo with die-cuts, stickers, and fussy cut elements. To create balance, I formed another cluster of embellishments to the left side of the layout. Black and gold paint splatters gave the final touch.

This layout is very simple, but I love how it turned out. Those sparkly stars are everything!

Kids Craft: Door Hangers

Hello, We R friends. Enza here, and today I’m sharing a fun project that you can easily make with or for your kids. I love crafting with my kids. My oldest daughter is very creative and truly enjoys playing with papers and We R Memory Keepers tools. When I asked her to give me an idea for this assignment, she said: “Why don’t we make those door hangers we’ve been talking about a lot lately?” She was so excited, I couldn’t say no 🙂

I used several tools, some old some new.

Door Hangers Kids Craft by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

We started by trimming patterned paper from the gorgeous Sparkle City collection by Shimelle to measure 5.5×6.5 inches; then using the Banner Punch Board, we created the banner shapes to use as our base.

One of the tools I’ve been enjoying lately is the Ribbon Stitching Tool – so easy to use, and the effect is super pretty! We placed the paper between the magnetic guides and pierced it with the provided tool. The guides kept the paper from shifting, so the cut was precise and sharp. To pass the ribbon through the holes, we used the adhesive needle that comes with the tool.

Once that was done, we cut another banner, smaller than the first one, and machine-stitched it to the base using the Stitch Happy Sewing Machine. We also punched stars from patterned paper with the new 1 inch Clear Cut Punch. We decided to create some dimension by layering the stars and adhering them with foam dots; embellishments from the same collection finished the front.

For the handle, we just hot glued pom pom ribbon to the back and added two paper tassels from the Crate Paper All Heart collection on one side.

Foil Quill Scrapbook Page

Hello, We R friends. Enza here, and I’m so excited to share with you my very first scrapbook layout using the amazing Foil Quill. This product is absolutely mind-blowing! You can create beautiful foil projects in minutes, with just your electronic die-cutting machine and one of the tip pens. So easy! And the results are oh so good!

Scrapbook Page with the Foil Quill by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started with a gorgeous floral design by Kelly Creates. There is a wide selection of designs from some of the most popular American Crafts collections to choose from. I wanted to create my own background and this design worked perfectly for it. After inserting the right adapter where the blade would go in my die-cutting machine, I opened the design, enlarged it to the desired size, and sent to cut, making sure to select the Sketch Pen option. It is very important that the foil is secured and wrinkle-free – I used the special Placement Tape to keep it in place.

Scrapbook Page with the Foil Quill by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I couldn’t believe how detailed and precise the design came out! I love the big size and the shiny look – it adds so much interest without being overwhelming.

Once the background was ready, I started working on my photo. I arranged a layered flower cut file in the center of the layout, adhering each layer with foam adhesive for dimension. In order to fit the photo inside the flower, I cut it with a circular decorative die.

I love adding foliage and other embellishments around my photos. Here I combined bits and pieces from the lovely Horizon collection by Pink Paislee with die-cut leaves and branches.

To finish the layout, I simply formed two clusters in opposite corners of the page, mixing chipboard and puffy stickers with die-cuts and fussy cut elements.

The Foil Quill system is a must-have. I hope I have inspired you to give it a try and create beautifuk, shiny projects with it.

Valentine’s Day Cards with the Stitch Happy Pen

Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I’m bringing you a set of cards created with the new, super fun Stitch Happy Pen.

Valentine's Day Cards with the Stitch Happy Pen by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I have always loved hand-stitching, especially on paper; I think it adds a lovely texture and accentuates the handmade feel of your projects. I usually use a cut file as my template, or draw my own design and then pierce the holes to make it easier to stitch. With the Stitch Happy Pen Kit, you have everything you need – you get a punch needle, a magnetic frame, threaders, and six stencils to create cute embroidery designs.

Since Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I thought I would make a couple of cards using two of the stencils included in the kit. I started with the “love” sentiment. Normally, you would just mark the holes with a pencil first and then place the paper in the magnetic frame; but I found out that positioning both paper and stencil in the frame and then lightly piercing the holes before removing the stencil and starting to stitch made things a bit easier – the stencil stayed in place thanks to the magnetic frame, and the fact I had already pierced the paper required less pressure with the punch needle, avoiding any unwanted marks or creases.

I used the beautiful La La Love collection by Crate Paper for both cards.

The hand-stitched “love” sentiment is the focal point on the first card, and all the other elements just complement it by bringing in more color and texture.

For the second card, I used the flower stencil.

I used Bazzill embossed cardstock as my base. Once I finished the design, I simply backed it with more colorful patterned paper and washi tape.

I love how these cards turned out. The embroidery designs add such a beautiful touch, and with the Stitch Happy Pen it’s easier than ever.

2018 Photo Garland

Hello, We R friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a fun garland created with the Frame Punch Board.

2018 Photo Garland featuring the Frame Punch Board by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

Every year towards the end of December, I like to put together a year-in-review type of project that is a collection of our best moments. It can be a mini album, a grid layout, or a home décor piece that displays one photo per month, and gives a general idea of what our year looked like.

For today’s project, I decided to go with a garland. What I like about this type of project is the flexibility of moving things around, add fun embellishments, and have the opportunity to enjoy the photos at any time.

I opted to create a variety of frames in different sizes. The Frame Punch Board is super easy to use; by simply adjusting the alignment bars, you can vary the thickness of the borders.

2018 Photo Garland featuring the Frame Punch Board by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers2018 Photo Garland featuring the Frame Punch Board by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I picked the Hooray! collection by Crate Paper for the frames, and a combination of embellishments from several Maggie Holmes collections to decorate them. Some of the frames measure 3.5×4”, others 3×5”. I used foam tape to adhere my elements down, just to give them some dimension. I then traced and fussy cut the numbers for the year to thread through the first row. The Mini Alphabet Punch Board would work as well for this. I only have the regular size one, so the numbers were too big compared to the frames.

I used white and gold twine to thread all my elements together.

I love how this garland turned out. It is the perfect way to remember the past year. It would also be a great gift idea for grandparents! I know my parents would love to have photos of the kids on their wall or mantel.

Handmade Gift Idea: Pom Pom Scarf

Hello, We R friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a fun project created with the Jumbo Pom Pom Maker. Every year my kids and I work on simple handmade gifts to give to family and friends during the holidays. We try to come up with ideas that don’t require much work and can be easily mass-produced. The Jumbo Pom Pom Maker is perfect for all kinds of gifts, from home décor pieces, such as wreaths, garlands, even cute, fluffy rugs, to more personal ones, like key chains, pom pom hats, or as in this case, scarves.

Here is a look at the finished project:

DIY Pom Pom Scarf by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

We picked traditional Christmas colors for this one, but non-traditional ones would be beautiful as well. Think of a pink/light green combination, or white/gold; you can even embellish it a bit more with colorful beads. The possibilities are endelss!

To start, we wrapped the yarn around both ends of the loom three times – the thicker the layers the fuller the pom poms.

Then we closed the wrapped arms and cut the yarn in between them. Make sure you go all the way around. The instructions that come with the tool are very easy to follow 🙂

To keep the pom poms from coming apart, you will need to thread a piece of yarn through the arms and tie it firmly. The yarn tends to loosen up a bit, but not enough to cause the pom pom to come apart.

Once all the pom poms were ready, we tied them together with the leftover yarn. We simply passed one end through the middle portion and secured it with a double knot.

The finished scarf is so fluffy and soft, we love how it turned out! It would be perfect for a Christmas photo shoot!

Happy Jig Holiday Cards

Hello, We R fans! Christmas will be here in no time! Lots to do, especially when it comes to holiday crafting. Today I’m sharing a set of cards that is perfect if you’re looking for a fun and easy way to send season’s greetings.

The Happy Jig is all you need to make an impact, and wow the recipients with your cards. Once you have all the pegs set up on the board, creating sentiments or shapes goes rather quickly.

Happy Jig Holiday Cards by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by trimming all the individual pieces from the new DCWV Farmhouse Christmas Premium Stack. I wanted my cards to be simple, so I just layered several patterned papers, making sure to use foam adhesive in between for more dimension.

For the first card, I used the Banner Punch Board to create two banners, which I then machine-stitched together. I used my Stitch Happy Sewing Machine to create a border around the card panel, and give it a bit of interest and finished look.

I added stickers from the same collection before hand-stitching the “merry” sentiment in place. I love the variety of colored wire I can choose from – this red one is perfect for Christmas!

The second card features different patterns, as well as a beautiful, festive 3×4 card that I placed right on top.

I decided to go with “Joy” for my sentiment.

As in the first card, I machine-stitched around the patterned paper for texture, and hand-stitched the wire word in place. Some twine wrapped around the panel finished the card.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my process, and feel inspired to use the super fun Happy Jig for your next Holiday cards.

123 Punch Board Thanksgiving Placecards

Hello, crafty friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing some simple place cards for your Thanksgiving table. Since this is usually a very busy time in most people’s life, I thought it would be helpful to come up with a fast and easy project that is sure to add a personalized touch to your décor.

One of the tools I reach out to often is the 1-2-3 Punch Board. This is truly a must-have, especially if you like to create your own gift boxes or envelopes for your cards. My idea for today was to make place cards that would also serve as gifts/party favors for friends and family.

Thanksgiving placecards with the 123 Punch Board by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by creating several string boxes, which I later filled with some goodies. I wanted something that was not too small or too big, so I decided to trim my patterned paper to measure 7 inches square. That gave me a box that is 2 ½ x 2 ½ x 1 ¾.

We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board

We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board

I made sure to use very strong double-sided adhesive to adhere the sides, but not before pressing on all the creases for crisp edges.

Once the boxes were all ready, I worked with several embellishments from different collections to spice them up a bit. Instead of using full names for my guests, I went with just the initials, for which I used alpha chipboard stickers I had in my stash. I added sentiments of gratitude and love, as well as some gold accents for a festive look.

These little boxes came together in no time; they are perfect as a pretty addition to your Thanksgiving dinner. Holiday craft doesn’t need to be complicated or time-consuming; all you need is just one tool and pretty embellishments. Happy crafting!
