Handmade Gift Idea: Pom Pom Scarf

Hello, We R friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a fun project created with the Jumbo Pom Pom Maker. Every year my kids and I work on simple handmade gifts to give to family and friends during the holidays. We try to come up with ideas that don’t require much work and can be easily mass-produced. The Jumbo Pom Pom Maker is perfect for all kinds of gifts, from home décor pieces, such as wreaths, garlands, even cute, fluffy rugs, to more personal ones, like key chains, pom pom hats, or as in this case, scarves.

Here is a look at the finished project:

DIY Pom Pom Scarf by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

We picked traditional Christmas colors for this one, but non-traditional ones would be beautiful as well. Think of a pink/light green combination, or white/gold; you can even embellish it a bit more with colorful beads. The possibilities are endelss!

To start, we wrapped the yarn around both ends of the loom three times – the thicker the layers the fuller the pom poms.

Then we closed the wrapped arms and cut the yarn in between them. Make sure you go all the way around. The instructions that come with the tool are very easy to follow 🙂

To keep the pom poms from coming apart, you will need to thread a piece of yarn through the arms and tie it firmly. The yarn tends to loosen up a bit, but not enough to cause the pom pom to come apart.

Once all the pom poms were ready, we tied them together with the leftover yarn. We simply passed one end through the middle portion and secured it with a double knot.

The finished scarf is so fluffy and soft, we love how it turned out! It would be perfect for a Christmas photo shoot!

Happy Jig Holiday Cards

Hello, We R fans! Christmas will be here in no time! Lots to do, especially when it comes to holiday crafting. Today I’m sharing a set of cards that is perfect if you’re looking for a fun and easy way to send season’s greetings.

The Happy Jig is all you need to make an impact, and wow the recipients with your cards. Once you have all the pegs set up on the board, creating sentiments or shapes goes rather quickly.

Happy Jig Holiday Cards by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by trimming all the individual pieces from the new DCWV Farmhouse Christmas Premium Stack. I wanted my cards to be simple, so I just layered several patterned papers, making sure to use foam adhesive in between for more dimension.

For the first card, I used the Banner Punch Board to create two banners, which I then machine-stitched together. I used my Stitch Happy Sewing Machine to create a border around the card panel, and give it a bit of interest and finished look.

I added stickers from the same collection before hand-stitching the “merry” sentiment in place. I love the variety of colored wire I can choose from – this red one is perfect for Christmas!

The second card features different patterns, as well as a beautiful, festive 3×4 card that I placed right on top.

I decided to go with “Joy” for my sentiment.

As in the first card, I machine-stitched around the patterned paper for texture, and hand-stitched the wire word in place. Some twine wrapped around the panel finished the card.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my process, and feel inspired to use the super fun Happy Jig for your next Holiday cards.

123 Punch Board Thanksgiving Placecards

Hello, crafty friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing some simple place cards for your Thanksgiving table. Since this is usually a very busy time in most people’s life, I thought it would be helpful to come up with a fast and easy project that is sure to add a personalized touch to your décor.

One of the tools I reach out to often is the 1-2-3 Punch Board. This is truly a must-have, especially if you like to create your own gift boxes or envelopes for your cards. My idea for today was to make place cards that would also serve as gifts/party favors for friends and family.

Thanksgiving placecards with the 123 Punch Board by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by creating several string boxes, which I later filled with some goodies. I wanted something that was not too small or too big, so I decided to trim my patterned paper to measure 7 inches square. That gave me a box that is 2 ½ x 2 ½ x 1 ¾.

We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board

We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board

I made sure to use very strong double-sided adhesive to adhere the sides, but not before pressing on all the creases for crisp edges.

Once the boxes were all ready, I worked with several embellishments from different collections to spice them up a bit. Instead of using full names for my guests, I went with just the initials, for which I used alpha chipboard stickers I had in my stash. I added sentiments of gratitude and love, as well as some gold accents for a festive look.

These little boxes came together in no time; they are perfect as a pretty addition to your Thanksgiving dinner. Holiday craft doesn’t need to be complicated or time-consuming; all you need is just one tool and pretty embellishments. Happy crafting!

Traveler’s Notebook Spread with the Journal Guide

Hello, We R friends! Enza back with you to share a spread in my new traveler’s notebook using the Journal Guide tool.

Travelers Notebook with the Journal Guide by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

If you love creating charts, lists, banners, or even little pockets to hold tags, memorabilia, and embellishments, this tool is for you. My spread today features the new Crate Paper Journal Studio Collection, which I absolutely love!

I started by creating sort of a calendar for the upcoming month. I used the rotating guide to draw two concentric circles and add sections for the days of the month. This tool is very easy to use, and gives you perfect results all the time. Since I like different textures and some dimension on my pages, I decided to use a craft die from my stash to cut the circle; then I die cut a smaller circle from patterned paper to place in the middle, just to embellish it a bit.

We R Memory Keepers Journal Guide

Next, I created two banners by simply tracing them with the ruler and the right angle guides before fussy cutting them with the Crafter’s Small Precision Scissors.

We R Memory Keepers Journal GuideWe R Memory Keepers Journal Guide

I usually like to have a little pocket or sleeve on the back of the front cover of my notebook, just to hold bits and pieces of the collection I plan to use, or store keepsakes. It is super easy to create your own with the Journal Guide. I simply cut patterned paper to the desired size, folded it around the long end of the tool, and taped the sides; for the bottom, I just folded the flap up and glued it to the back. I created three pockets, that I embellished with washi tape and die cuts from the Crate Paper Journal Studio Collection.

DIY Halloween Treat Boxes

Hello, crafty friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a spooky (not so much) Halloween treat packaging idea created with several We R Memory Keepers tools.

You might know by now how much I love tags; I use them on almost all of my projects, so I thought it would be fun to make “loaded” ones to give as party favors or just as a treat on Halloween day.

DIY Halloween Treat Boxes by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by trimming the tags to measure 4×8 inches. I used two sheets of patterned paper and one of white heavy weight cardstock, which I sandwiched in the middle to make the tags sturdy and durable. With the Tag Punch Board I cut the corners of all three before adhering them together.

We R Memory Keepers Tag Punch BoardWe R Memory Keepers Tag Punch Board

To make the box, the paper needs to measure 8×6 inches. With the help of the Mini Score Board, I creased it vertically at 1 and 2 inches, and horizontally at 4 and 5 inches, like in the photos below.

We R Memory Keepers Mini Score BoardWe R Memory Keepers Mini Score Board

Next, I cut the two bottom squares formed by the creases on both sides of the paper, and again just in between the ones above. I applied strong double-sided adhesive to assemble the box, and adhere it to the front of the tag.

At this point it was just a matter of decorating the boxes and make them “spooky”. The first thing I did was create wire words with the Happy Jig. I love this tool so much!!! I can’t stop creating with it! It is perfect to personalize your projects. I used the copper wire to spell “Boo” (I have a black one in the photo below to show the design better) and the black one to spell “Spooky”.

I arranged several chipboard stickers and die cuts from the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection to form clusters on the front of the loaded tags, and finished them with a double bow I made using the 1-2-3 Punch Board.

Stamped Card Set

Hello, We R fans! Enza back with you to share a set of cards created with the Precision Press Advanced. I know I say it all the time, but this is another of those tools you need in your stash, especially if stamping is your thing. It makes it easier to work with layered stamps, and is great to create repeated patterns.

My cards today feature a circular design that came together in no time.

Stamped Card Set by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Precision Press Advanced

I started by trimming my card panel to measure 5.5 inch square. I like to be able to resize it if needed, so I always make it a little bigger than my card base. I then positioned my stamp in the center with the help of the grid design on the acrylic stamping block.

Precision Press Advanced by We R Memory Keepers with Vicki Boutin Stamps

Next, I used a smaller stamp to create a wreath all the way around the main image.

We R Memory Keepers Precision Press Advanced with Vicki Boutin Stamps

Again I positioned it on my panel, pressed the top down, and turned the block four times without moving the paper. I then arranged the stamp again, and filled the empty spots with a lighter color of ink.

It was so easy and fast, that I stamped another panel with a different color combination.

Stamped Card Set by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Precision Press Advanced

For one of the cards, I decided to stamp and heat-emboss my sentiment directly in the center.

Since I’m a big fan of dimensional elements, I wanted something that popped a bit more. I stamped a few more of the smaller flowers in a matching color, die cut them with the coordinating dies that come in the Vicki Boutin set I used, and adhered them down with foam adhesive. Black splatters finished the cards.

Pleated Wrapping Paper

Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a gift wrapping idea using a few We R Memory Keepers tools.

Have you ever seen pleated wrapping paper? I came across it on Pinterest, and got hooked! I think it’s elegant and very unique, and it really makes an impact.

Pleated Gift Wrap by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

For these boxes I used the Gift Wrap Book from the Crate Paper Willow Lane collection. Although the design is more noticeable on solid wrapping paper, I’m a sucker for patterned paper, so that’s what I used today 🙂

I started by folding a 9×24 inch paper in half. Then, using the Tri-Fold Magnetic Mat, I positioned the 18 inch ruler that comes with it above the crease, and folded the paper over it – This mat is perfect if you need to keep your paper in place without shifting.

Next, I folded the first crease on top of the second, and doubled the paper again, like in the photos below.

This gave me the middle pleat, which became my base for the other two. Each pleat is about ½ inch, but you could easily vary the size if you wanted to. The width of the We R Memory Keepers ruler worked really well in this case, as the pleats are about half its size.

To keep the pleats in place, I adhered tape on the back – I used washi tape here to show how you would hold it together, but clear tape or double-sided adhesive would be ideal.

After wrapping up the box, I worked on the embellishments. I love how the Bow Loom allows you to make perfect bows in a variety of sizes. Here I created a Three Wraps Ribbon in no time.

Last, I made some mini tassels with the Tassel Loom on the 2 inch size, and finished decorating the boxes.

Enza’s Top 3 Favorite Tools

Hello, We R fans. Enza here, and today I’m sharing three of my favorite tools. Let me start by saying it is impossible not to love every single one of them, as they are all useful, fun and easy to work with. Anything that can help me speed up the process while still giving me amazing results is a winner in my book. Plus, I’m often inspired by the variety and versatility of We R Memory Keepers tools.

The first tool I can’t live without is the 123 Punch Board. One of my passions is gift wrapping and pretty packaging, and lately I have discovered a love for card making, so this tool is perfect to create a variety of projects. You can make different type of boxes, bows, envelopes, envelope liners, and even file folder cards. I think every crafter needs this in their stash. All the instructions are already on the board, and you also get an Idea Book with step-by-step instructions that is really helpful. Super duper easy to use!

Here is an example of a String Tie Box I created with it:

My second favorite is a tool that I use for almost every project, and another essential in my stash. The Tag Punch Board is fun and very versatile; it is perfect to create gift tags, tag mini albums, layering elements for cards and scrapbook layouts, and more. What I love the most about this tool is that you can make tags in different sizes, up to 3.5” wide, and that it punches perfectly centered holes every time. To complete the look of my tags, I also use the Hole Reinforcer Punch, but that is just a preference.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Happy Jig. Such a clever idea! You can make unique and custom embellishments for scrapbook pages, cards, even home décor. It comes with wires in different colors, and the super helpful Instruction book, with step-by-step instructions for bending wire into letters, shapes, and words. Your imagination is the limit with this tool. I also love that you can store the pegs and the wire cutters in the base of the tool for easy organization.

Emoji Shaker Pocket Card

Hello, We R friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a card created with the super fun Emoji Punch Board. Those little smiley faces are just too cute, and I love that I can create lots of different ones with one punch board. When I think of emojis, I usually picture happy ones, so I decided to go with a shaker card; confetti, sequins, and fun smiley faces are the perfect combination to brighten someone’s day.

Emoji Shaker Card by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by creating several emojis using the Perforated Paper Pad, which contains perforated paper squares perfectly sized for the Emoji Punch Board. You have four different colors to choose from, and it really makes it easy and faster to cut your shapes. I backed each emoji with patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Pick-Me-Up collection, which is mostly the collection I used for this card. I like that you can see other colors coming through the negative spaces of the images.

Next, I used the Frame Punch Board to create the window of my card; I adhered scalloped borders that I fussy cut from patterned paper behind it, and a piece of clear acetate cut to size for the opening. I then filled up the window with the emojis, sequins, fussy-cut icons and sentiments from the collection I chose, as well as some sprinkles created with the Sprinkle Punch. I used foam adhesive to adhere the front panel to the card base.

I finished the card with a “Smile” sentiment created with the Happy Jig, and twine wrapped around the spine.

Craft Room Storage and Organization with Enza

Hello, crafty friends! Enza here, and I’m back today to share a few organizational tips with you all. I don’t have a craft room – all my crafting is done at the kitchen table, so I’ve had to find the best storage solutions that allowed me to get my supplies in and out in a fast and easy way.

A must-have for me is a rolling cart. All my basic supplies, such as scissors, adhesives, trimmers, but also mixed media supplies and other tools that I use on a daily basis are sitting in the cart and easily accessible at any time. Here is also where I store all the bits and pieces from collections I’m working with. They sit in separate pretty little plates or bowls and get rearranged based on my needs.

A separate cart is entirely dedicated to my We R Memory Keepers tools.

Craft Room Storage and Organization Tips with Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I used the new amazing Label It Maker to mark the trays based on type of supply and keep them as organized as possible — on a side note, this works really well when you have kids that love to use your crafty tools! They know exactly where everything goes, and it makes it easier to clean up!

Craft Room Storage and Organization Tips with Enza Gudor for We R Memory KeepersCraft Room Storage and Organization Tips with Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

What I love about the Label It Maker is that it is easy and fast to use, and comes with accessories, such as font wheels, label holders, and a wide variety of colored tape rolls, that help in the organization process. You can change tape and font wheels in no time, and color-code your supplies for a very organized space.

Craft Room Storage and Organization Tips with Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

Bins, boxes and baskets are also a wonderful option, especially if you don’t have a designated area where you can just sit and craft. I try to find pretty, but also functional items that can be easily transported from the storage room, where all my supplies are, to my scrappy space. They are affordable and definitely help keep your stash super organized – I usually categorize everything per type, collection, or manufacturer to make it easier to find what I’m looking for.

Wire baskets are great for holding washi tape rolls as well. Anything helps in a small space, right?

Sometimes I find that storage units meant to be used for a specific item are perfect for crafting supplies. This nail polish organizer keeps ink sprays, paint bottles and embossing powders neat and tidy. It is sturdy but light, so easy to carry around.

One last thing I wanted to show you is how I organize my ink pads. My husband just finished this unit for me. It holds so many of them! A great way to keep it functional is by color – The little adhesive dots I inked and adhered to the outside of each case are a great help when it comes to find color combinations.
