Holiday Gift Card Holders

Happy Friday friends! Aly Dosdall here–I’m glad you stopped by today. I love giving gift cards for the holidays because they allow the receiver to pick out what they get, which often ends up being something they might not get for themselves otherwise. But, I worry that when I give them as a gift, it might seem like not much effort went into it. My solution? Make some pretty gift card packaging!

To make these festive gift card holders I started by gathering my Banner Punch Board, Trim and Score Board, some other We R tools, and the Winter Frost Premium Stack from Die Cuts With a View, Inc (available at JoAnn Stores).

Banner Punch Board, Trim and Score Board, Clear Cut Circle Punch, and DCWV Winter Frost Premium Stack

First, I trimmed my papers down to 12×4 inches and cut a crest banner shape in one end.

Then I placed by paper on the Trim and Score Board horizontally, with the crest shape facing left, and scored it at 2 1/2, 4 3/4, 7, and 9 1/2 inches.

Trim and Score Board by We R Memory Keepers

I folded the score lines as shown below, and then added double sided craft tape to three sides of the second to bottom panel. Be sure not to add adhesive to the side with the crease along the center panel, as this will be the opening for the pocket for holding your gift card. Tip: At this point I placed my gift card on the panel with the adhesive to make sure it would fit inside the tape properly.

I adhered the center and second to bottom panels together to create the pocket, and then trimed 3/8 inch off the top to create the opening for the card as shown below.

Then I create a notch in the pocket for easy access with the Clear Cut Circle Punch. It was easy to align the paper halfway into the punch using the clear alignment guide and magnetic system!

Once I finished assembling the gift card holder, here’s what it looked like:

To finish off my gift card, I added a ribbon around the top flap which I cut and sealed with the Ribbon Cutter. I seriously love this tool–don’t know how I ever lived without it!

I cut some tags out of the Winter Frost Premium Stack. It’s so convenient to have cut out tags, journaling cards, and labels included in the stack!

Then I die cut some snowflakes from the DCWV Embossed White Holidays Stack with my Evolution Advanced, and embellished the top flaps.

Holiday Pillow Boxes

Hey there We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here to share some adorable winter themed pillow treat boxes that I created with some of my favorite We R Memory Keepers tools and the DCWV Winter Frost Premium Stack. The holidays will be here before we know it. This time of year, it’s always nice to have some little gifts on hand for those unexpected (or if you’re like me, forgotten) gifts.

Holiday Pillow Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

I decided to create a few little gifts with my the pillow box punch board, the heart clear cut punch, and the tag punch. These cute little treat boxes came together within a matter of minutes with these tools.

The base of the box is created with patterned paper and the pillow punch board. The instructions are right on the board and so easy to follow.

After creating the base of the pillow boxes and before adhering them together, I used the heart clear cut punch to punch a heart window in the middle of each box. I covered each heart with a piece of clear plastic to make a cute heart window on each box.

When I had the boxes finished, I punch a tag for each box with the scraps of patterned paper and the tag punch. I love this punch! It makes creating tags SO easy! Each tag is tied to the pillow box with white string.

It’s that easy to create these cute treat boxes. I hope you’re inspired to create some quick holiday gifts with your favorite We R Memory Keeper tools. Thank you for stopping by the We R Memory Keepers blog. I’ll see you again soon!

Easy Thanksgiving Hostess Gifts

Happy Halloween friends! Aly here with you today to share a cute and practical project idea to help stretch your crafting budget. This year I collected lots of adorable Halloween papers and embellishments thinking I would use all of them, of course. Well, today’s Halloween. How’s my project list coming? I think it’s safe to say I have a bit more Halloween product leftover than I had planned, LOL!

Don’t put those Halloween collections away quite yet. You can still put them to good use over the next few weeks so you can get a bit more mileage out of them even if Halloween is over. Check out these Thanksgiving hostess gifts I made with my new my Hexagon Clear Cut Punch, the DIY Party Board, and some papers from the…wait for it…Pink Paisless Spellcast collection!

I selected some of the less Halloween-themed papers from the collection that include fall colors, and then grabbed some of my favorite We R tools.

I followed the directions on the DIY Party Board to make treat cones, and cut my paper according to the directions. I love that everything I need is right on the board!

I assembled my treat cones, filled them with goodies, and then closed the top flaps with my favorite adhesive when working with 3D paper crafts–Red Double Sided Sticky Tape from American Crafts. Can’t live without it.

Next, I made some simple gift tags using my Hexagon Clear Cut Punch and one of the papers from the collection. I used my punch to capture select patterns from the paper. Using the “punch anywhere” feature, I was able to use the exact spot on my 12×12 paper that I wanted. There are so many possibilities with the Clear Cut Punches!

I used some Heidi Swapp planner alpha stickers to add sentiments to the hexagon tags. Then I cut out some gold foil monograms from the vellum paper in the collection, and added them together with the hex tags I punched. Including a silk fall leaf with the tags adds the perfect touch for Thanksgiving! I punched them all with my Crop-A-Dile and then attached an eyelet where I threaded some gold Stitch Happy Metallic Thread and tied it in a bow.

I used my double sided red tape again to attached the completed tags to the treat cones. I love how they turned out!

I also love that I was able to use my tools to help make the most out of my Halloween themed paper collection. Being able to select the exact fall colors and patterns I wanted from the collection really helps to stretch it farther than I could otherwise.

Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to stop by each day this week for more projects from our team featuring the new Clear Cut Punches!

Dial Trimmer Gift Packaging

Hello, We R friends! Tessa Buys here. I am the worst at remembering to buy wrap or bags for gifts. Thank goodness I have a crafty stash and fantastic tools like the Dial Trimmer to help me whip up last-minute gift packaging!

Dial Trimmer Gift Packaging by Tessa Buys for We R Memory Keepers

For this “wild” little gift bag, I cut a panel of Amy Tangerine patterned paper and adhered it to the front of my bag. I added a tag, then set to work creating a super easy cluster of paper roses to embellish the bag.

Dial Trimmer Gift Packaging by Tessa Buys for We R Memory Keepers

Using the Dial Trimmer and three different decorative blades, I cut a 1 inch wide x 12 inches long strip of Bazzill cardstock in yellow, pink and blue.

To make the flowers, I first dampened the cardstock strips. I like to stand at the sink and wet my fingers, then run my fingers across the paper to avoid saturating it too much. Blot with a towel and then begin rolling, gently folding the decorative edge out to look like petals. Glue as you go (I used a hot glue gun) and secure the end of the strip with more glue. Repeat with the other two strips.

When the flowers were completely dry, I glued them together and then added them to my bag with a couple of Amy Tangerine leaves (sticker and die-cut).

In far less time than it would take to run to the store, I made unique gift packaging and had a little crafty fun, too. Thanks to the Dial Trimmer, pretty flower accents are easy and quick. What would you add these flowers to? Happy creating!

Laura’s Favorite Colors: Mint, Navy, and Gold Gift Packaging

Hello there, We R readers, Laura here. This week is all about our favorite colors. One of my favorite color combinations is mint, navy, and gold.

Today, I am going to share some gift packaging ideas with you, using these pretty colors.

Gift Packaging by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

The first package I wrapped up using my FUSE tool, papers, and embellishments. I laid out my mint chevron paper on the heat proof mat. I added the FUSEables decorative tape to the middle of the paper. Pull the tape out of the box and fold it on the premarked score lines.

Use the FUSE tool to adhere it to the plastic paper.

Then, I added some FUSEables embellishments to the middle of the paper. I used the embellished 12 x 12 sheet to wrap up my small gift.

For the next gift, I used the 1-2-3 Punch Board to create an XL gift box from navy cardstock. Follow the instructions on the punch board to score and punch your paper to fold it up into a cute little 4” x 4” x 4” box.

123 Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I added strips of gold and mint glitter tape to the the box. This tape is so fun and sparkly!

Using the 1-2-3 Punch Board I created an XS bow out of navy cardstock. I added a pre-made gold bow to the top to have another gold element on my gift.

I also tucked a little teal and gold tag under the bow.

For the last gift packaging idea, I wanted to dress up a store bought mint gift bag. I used gold, navy, and mint fringe tape. I simply trimmed the fringe tape to fit along the front of the gift bag. It has an adhesive back to make it easy to attach to any project.

I added a gold tassel to the handle and some gold and navy tissue paper.

Pretty gift packaging is such a fun way to add a little extra something to your special gifts you give.

Mother’s Day Gift Boxes

Hey there, We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here to share with you a set of 3 Mother’s Day pillow boxes that I created with the Pillow Box Punch Board and the DIY Party Tag Punch.
Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
I’m hanging my head in shame as I admit that this is the first time I’ve used my Pillow Box Punch Board. Honestly, I have no idea why it took me so long to play with this awesome tool. It’s been in my office for a while now, I don’t know why I haven’t played with it but I’m glad that I had a chance to play with it for this project.

Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
Whenever Mother’s Day rolls around we always have a gift for all of the moms in our life. Usually these are small gifts such as jewelry, gift cards, fancy chocolates, or even a small gift that the kids have made at school. Each year, I throw the gifts in a small gift bag or envelope on the evening before Mother’s Day and call it good. This year, I thought I would plan ahead and create little pillow boxes for our Mother’s Day gifts.

Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
All you need to create these gorgeous Mother’s Day Pillow Boxes is a Pillow Punch Board, the Tag Punch, patterned paper, ribbon, a few small wooden clothespins and a few letter stickers. The instructions that come with (and printed on the punch board) make these pillow boxes come together in minutes. When I had the pillow boxes complete I added just a little bit of embellishment with the tag punch, some fussy cut butterflies, and a few letter stickers.

Mother's Day Gift Boxes by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers
I created three one inch tags using patterned paper that coordinated with the papers I chose for the pillow boxes. After I finished the tags and the pillow boxes, I tied each pillow box with ribbon. I simply attached the tag to the pillow box with a white clothes pin.

See, easy peasy! I love how these pillow boxes turned out and you all know that I LOVE the tag punch. The Pillow Box Punch Board is now among my favorite tools. Now that I’ve played with the Pillow Box Punch board, I know I’ll be reaching for it again, and again.

Holiday Gift Wrap with the Template Studio

Hello We R fans and thank you for joining me today. With the holiday season upon us, I would love to share some gift ideas with you all, using the fun and versatile Template Studio.

gifting_1

If you are thinking about giving this tool a try, a great value option is to grab the Template Studio Starter Kit. Inside, you will find everything you need to create large-scale gift bags, envelopes, boxes, home decor and more! For my projects today, I have used the Envelope & Box Guide (included in the kit) and the Pillowbox Guide.

gifting_2

As you can see, I have constructed three different shape boxes, which I have embellished. The first gift box was created using the Envelope & Box guide and some red stripe posterboard. To see how to use the Template Studio to create a gift box, click here to view it in action.

gifting_3

You will need the following to create this type of box: Posterboard, Fringe Tape, Metal Bow Die, a die cutting machine like the Evolution Advanced and some sparkly bits!

The stripes on the posterboard were a perfect guide for placing my fringe tape. Being self adhesive, this decorative tape is a breeze to adhere to a vast number of projects.

gifting_4

My second box is a pillow shaped one. I think this shape is a lot of fun! You could pop an article of clothing inside or some home bakes… To create this box using the Template Studio, click here to check out a video.

gifting_5

To put this type of box together, you will need the following: Posterboard, Glassine Paper, Chevron Washi Tape, Mini Alphabet Punch board and some Honeycomb Paper.

gifting_6

To echo the shape of the baubles on the Oh Goodie Glassine Paper, I have cut some Honeycomb paper to size and adhered it over the shapes. To create the little bell, I laid the honeycomb paper pad next to the shape and copied it with a pencil onto the paper and then cut the shape out by hand with some sharp scissors. NOTE: You only need to trace half the shape as it opens to reveal the full shape IYKWIM.

gifting_7

My third box is a large envelope size, which I have scored a bit further to create a boxy shape. (The instructions included with the template studio guide show you this extra step.) It would be great for some custom chocolates or a book. To check out how to use the Template Studio to create envelopes, click here

gifting_8

It has a gift card/large tag attached already. The card has been stamped and placed inside a vellum Typecast Envelope, which I have embossed using a ‘Merry Christmas’ Phrase Embossing Strip.

gifting_9

To pop this one together you will need: Cardstock, Chevron Washi Tape, Vellum envelope, DIY Party Tag Punch, Layered Stamp, Ribbon/Twine and some sparkly bits.

gifting_10

I’ve used some beautiful white tone marble print paper (Bazzill) and then used my Precision Press along with the Gift Layered Stamp and CMYK ink pads to stamp a cute pile of gifts onto my card.

You will notice the gifts are green and red but I don’t have these colour inks, so it’s back to kindergarten as we mix our colours! Blue + Yellow will give you green. I stamped yellow first and then blue over the top. Next, we will be mixing Yellow + Magenta to give us our red gifts. Again, I started with my lighter colour and then did the magenta over the top. Lastly, it was a bit of black for the bow details. I LOVE this fun way of stamping! The Precision Press holds everything in place perfectly so you don’t have to worry about accuracy when you are stamping your next colour layer. Awesome!

gifting_11

Don’t those little gifts look super sweet peeking out from under the vellum? I love the soft opacity the vellum gives it. Pop a few sequins or stars inside for some festive fun.

gifting_12

I can’t wait to gift these special boxes.

gifting_13

Wishing you lots of happy gift giving!

Chantalle

Pink and Teal Holiday Gift Wrap

Hello We R fans!  It’s Eva here today sharing some gift wrap inspiration with a bright and fun color combo.

pink-and-teal-gift-wrap-by-eva-pizarro-1

I live in Chile and here Christmas is in the middle of Summer so I love to decorate my house and my holiday projects with bright colors. For this project I chose a Pink and Teal combo, I also added gold to give my gifts a Christmas feeling.

I started by making 2 boxes with my favorite punch boards: the Candy Punch Board and the Pillow Box Punch Board. These are so versatile and perfect for small gifts during this holiday season!

I made the Candy Box with some patterned paper and decorated it with a tag made with cardstock and my Corner Chomper, an acetate tag, a personalized letter made with my Mini Alphabet Punch Board, some ribbon cut (and sealed! ) with  my Ribbon Cutter, some confetti and a piece of cardstock from the Typecast Collection.

pink-and-teal-gift-wrap-by-eva-pizarro-2

For my Pillow Box I used a piece of Bazzill’s marbled cardstock and decorated it with a starburst from the Oh Goodie collection, confetti, a tag written with my Typecast Typewriter, a piece of acetate from the Clearly Posh collection, twine and a bow from the Wildflower line.

pink-and-teal-gift-wrap-by-eva-pizarro-3

You can use these boxes for any small gift, I wanted to give a sweet Christmas decoration so I made a garland with chocolates, twine, punched circles and liquid glue. If you want to make this garland make sure you don’t use a hot glue gun because some chocolate could  melt leaving a small stain.

Put your gift, or garland in my case, add some confetti and close your boxes.

The Mini Alphabet Punch Board  is perfect for personalized gifts tags!

Colors Chantalle Loves: Pink & Gold

Hello We R fans and thank you for joining us this week as we celebrate the colours we all love! If you asked me what my favourite colour was, I would probably answer, all of them! But I do have an affinity for pink I must admit. A deep, lush magenta gets my pulse racing every time!

colors we love graphic-chantalle

Today I want to share some gifting ideas with you. They all share a common rosey glow, but swap out the colour and you can easily customize them to suit you.

Giftwrap_1

Read on as I’ll be showing you how each one came together.

Giftwrap_2

The gold box is just a simple gift box, which I purchased from a dollar store.

Giftwrap_3

I have given it a spotty pattern by using applying some Oh Goodie Gold Foil Stickers.

Giftwrap_4

I finished it off with some twine, an Oh Goodie Starburst Closure and a Clearly Posh Plastic Bow.

Giftwrap_5

This next little box has been wrapped in dark pink tissue paper and been accented with some pops of gold.

Giftwrap_6

I trimmed a piece of Clearly Posh gold spotted acetate to fit as a sleeve around the middle.

Giftwrap_7

On top of the acetate, I have run a length of gold Fringe Tape followed by a strip of light pink ribbon. To finish this one off, I’ve embellished the box with a layered flower, made up of two petals from DIY Party Die Cut Flowers (Bright & Metallic). I’ve given the petals a bit of life by curling the edges gently with the back of a paintbrush.

Giftwrap_8

This gift was wrapped using Pink Oh Goodie Ombré Glassine paper.

Giftwrap_9

Giftwrap_10

This gift also has a sleeve in the middle, created with a sheet of gold vellum from a DIY Party Vellum Pad and a spotted Next Level Embossing Folder. * The guides in the embossing folder make it really easy to get a specific section of embossing on your chosen media.

Giftwrap_11

I ran the vellum around the centre, added a few die cuts and wrapped with twine. A custom tag, created with my DIY Party Tag Punch adds a finished look.

Giftwrap_12

Giftwrap_13

Want a quick gift idea that uses minimal supplies? I’ve used this chocolate gift box heaps as it works as a card and a gift box in one!

Giftwrap_14

The chocolate sits inside the sleeve and the top lifts up to reveal a space for you to write your message.

Giftwrap_15

You will need one sheet of 12×12 paper to make the sleeve. The step by steps below show how easy it is to create. Just start with a strip as wide as your chocolate slab/box. Secure the first bit with double sided tape and then roll up!

Giftwrap_16

The gold paper for the bow comes from a DIY Party 12×12 cardstock pad which I sent through my Evolution Advanced with a Bow metal die.

Giftwrap_17

How about a cute pom pom gift topper? These cuties are so easy to make using a DIY Party Pom Pom maker.

Giftwrap_18

The pom poms take just a couple of minutes to create. I have adhered mine on top of my gift using a glue gun so they stay put.

Giftwrap_19

Finishing touches are some glitter tape (which I have punched), a Wildflower layered tag and a bit of gold metallic thread.

Giftwrap_20

Finally, I have created a very quick bottle sleeve.

Giftwrap_21

The sleeve consists of a sleeve of Ombré Glassine paper, embellished with a few simple supplies like these die cut flowers and butterfly (which are DIY Party Globe covers.)

Giftwrap_22

Giftwrap_23

I hope these will help you if you are ever stuck for ideas on how to jazz up a special gift.

Giftwrap_24

Until next time, Happy crafting!
