Ornament Treat Bags

Hello, We R friends! Laura here today to kick off Holiday Treats week. Often around the holidays I like to bake homemade goodies, but to be honest, I don’t always have time to create something from scratch. If I can’t bake something, my next go to treat is candy – in particular, anything nostalgic. For Christmas this means candy canes, peppermint Christmas nougats, peanut brittle, or hard candies.

Today, I am going to show you how to make these adorable ornament treat bags with only a few simple supplies like the goodie bag guide. These little bags would work great as party favors or even to pass out at a class party.

Start by choosing some pretty holiday papers. Mine are all from the DCWV All About Christmas Paper Stack. Use the Goodie Bag guide to create a treat bag that is 3 ½” wide.

Goodie Bag Guide by We R Memory Keepers

Before you assemble the bag, use the clear cut circle punch to cut a circle in the bottom half of the front of the bag. The clear cut punch works great for this because you can position it exactly where you want it. Assemble the bag using adhesive.

Create a 3” pouch using one of the 4” photo sleeve waterfall sleeves and your FUSE tool. Fill it with your favorite candy and then fuse the top closed.

Decorate the front of your treat bag with a ribbon, a small gold or silver rectangle, and a ribbon bow. I attached everything with my Sticky Thumb adhesive.

Place the fused candy bag inside the treat bag, fold over the top, and seal it with adhesive.

The candies make a perfect little ornament showing through on the front of the bag. You could also fill the ornament treat bag with a cookie, brownie, or any other homemade treat, as well!

Holiday Cookie Boxes + Free Recipe

Hello and happy almost-December!  It’s Rebecca back again today, and I’m excited to share a recipe for some yummy treats and some packaging with you.

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

With less than 2 weeks of school left before my kids are off for winter break, it’s time to start planning what kinds of cookies we’ll be baking this year.  Anymore, Christmas is the only time I bake.  We’ll probably do some frosted sugar cookies, and maybe some peanut butter bonbons—those were always my favorite as a child—and then we always make up a quick batch of snickerdoodles.  They’re fast and easy, whereas the other cookies get a little time-consuming, especially when you have littles “helping” out!  To get things going a little early this year, I made a quick batch of snickerdoodles.

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

We usually bake treats for my husband’s side of the family (since they’re local) and my favorite part of that is packaging them up!  Is that strange?  I think we’ll even extend the treat-giving to the kids’ teachers and classroom aides this year, too.  Thanks to the 1-2-3 Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers, I can make the box AND embellish it with the same tool!

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I started by choosing the box size I wanted to make, which was 4” x 4” x 3 1/2,” and then trimmed my papers accordingly.  I’m using some prints from Crate Paper’s Merry Days collection to make all my packaging today.

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

After cutting the paper down to size, I simply followed the easy directions for the Punch Board and assembled 2 boxes.  I lined them with wax paper and filled them with the cookies we made, then closed them up, securing the flaps with the corner slits.  One of the most convenient aspects of this board and these boxes is that there’s no adhesive required.  It makes assembling them so fast!

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory KeepersHoliday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

To accompany each box, I made a paper bow using the 1-2-3 Punch Board, as well.  Again, it’s super easy and I was able to use the scraps from the same sheet of paper I used to create the boxes.  For some contrast, I chose to make a blue bow (‘Holiday Love’) to go with the coral paper (‘Cheer’) and vice versa.

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory KeepersHoliday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Each bow is size Small, which I found to be a great size for those boxes.

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I then created some simple tags to attach to each box, as well, using more paper scraps.  For the coral box, I used the backside of ‘Holiday Love’ and paired it with some blush pink card stock, with which I used the Word Punch Board to spell “From Nemy.”

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

For my son’s teacher, I used a scrap of green buffalo check paper (‘Together’) from last year’s Crate holiday offering FaLaLa.  After punching out “From Gus” from pale blue cardstock, I adhered it to the green paper and trimmed down the two tags.

We R Memory Keepers Word Punch BoardHoliday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

With the notch cutter on the 1-2-3 board, I punched out the small curves at the ends of each tag.  It’s an addition that makes the tags a little more unique than if I had left them with a straight edge.

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

To complete the look, I added a yarn pom pom to each box, and if you like, you can even add some ribbon or twine.

Holiday Cookie Boxes by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

My favorite thing about this gift is that it’s all handmade!  From the treats inside to the packaging outside, it’s a labor of love, which I know will not go unnoticed by the kids’ teachers.  They give so much time and support to my kids that this small token of thanks is completely worth the time and effort it took to make it.

5 Treat Packaging Ideas with the DIY Party Board

Hello We R Memory Keepers fans! Soraya here to share some holiday treats to offer to your family and friends because Christmas is around the corner! It’s the most wonderful time of the year and at We R Memory Keepers we have the best tools to inspire you creating cute and fun treats!

Holiday Treats by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

To make these five boxes and pouches I used the amazing DIY Party Board. This board allows you to create so many different projects! We’ll be making a little basket, a treat pouch, a chocolate bar paper wrap, a French fry cone and a Christmas tree! So you’ll need patterned papers, scissors, felt, embellishments and the Circle Clear Cut Punch.

Holiday Treats by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Santa’s basket:  use the DIY Party Board to create a big cup wrap with a 10×10 red patterned paper. Add a thin strip of paper to create the handle of the basket and cut some pieces of felt to create Santa’s belt and some snow all around the cup. Place some yummy chocolate in a plastic bag before putting them into the basket!

Treat pouch:  use a 9×9 patterned paper to create the pouch. Fill it with delicious sweets and add a bow to decorate it! You can add more glittering washi tape and foam stickers (like the tree).

The candy cone: use a 7×7 patterned paper to create a french fry cone and decorate it with a border of gold fringe and some silver stars! Now you just need to fill it with chocolate and candy canes. So cute!

The Christmas tree: use a 6×6 patterned paper to create the shape of a mini party hat that will turn into a Christmas tree! Add a star on top and some red baker’s twine all around the tree as a garland. Stick some pearls and use the Circle Clear Cut Punch to create a circle base that will be the chocolate holder! So fun to hide the chocolate inside the tree!

Holiday Cards with the Precision Press

Hello everybody! Soraya here today to share three holiday cards using the Precision Press Advanced!

Holiday Cards with the Precision Press Advanced by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Card 1 : #happyholidays

The Precision Press Advanced combined with the layered stamps allows you to create beautiful textured images. All you have to do is stamp one layer at a time with different color ink pads.

I used transparent ink for the last layer in order to heat emboss with gold powder.

Card 2 : Share

For this second card, I stamped a stack of gifts with the same color combo I used before. Then cut it out and placed it on the card with 3D foam pads.

This card has a lot of dimension and texture thanks to the sewing circles, the wood veeners accents and the flower I stamped with 3 different colors to add more depth.

Happy Jig Holiday Cards

Hello, We R fans! Christmas will be here in no time! Lots to do, especially when it comes to holiday crafting. Today I’m sharing a set of cards that is perfect if you’re looking for a fun and easy way to send season’s greetings.

The Happy Jig is all you need to make an impact, and wow the recipients with your cards. Once you have all the pegs set up on the board, creating sentiments or shapes goes rather quickly.

Happy Jig Holiday Cards by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by trimming all the individual pieces from the new DCWV Farmhouse Christmas Premium Stack. I wanted my cards to be simple, so I just layered several patterned papers, making sure to use foam adhesive in between for more dimension.

For the first card, I used the Banner Punch Board to create two banners, which I then machine-stitched together. I used my Stitch Happy Sewing Machine to create a border around the card panel, and give it a bit of interest and finished look.

Happy Jig Holiday Cards by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I added stickers from the same collection before hand-stitching the “merry” sentiment in place. I love the variety of colored wire I can choose from – this red one is perfect for Christmas!

The second card features different patterns, as well as a beautiful, festive 3×4 card that I placed right on top.

Happy Jig Holiday Cards by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I decided to go with “Joy” for my sentiment.

Happy Jig Holiday Cards by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

As in the first card, I machine-stitched around the patterned paper for texture, and hand-stitched the wire word in place. Some twine wrapped around the panel finished the card.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my process, and feel inspired to use the super fun Happy Jig for your next Holiday cards.

Thank you for stopping by!

Shaped Christmas Card Set

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here with fun, festive, and handmade cards for the holidays! Everyone loves to make (and get) a handmade card in the mail, but during the holidays, our time is at a premium. Once again, We R Memory Keepers is bringing us a tool that saves time and makes us look good! The Circle Spin & Trim is a tool that makes creating circles of just about any size a snap! Smooth and easy to use, check out how I used it on these ornament cards.

Making these cards took so little time. And how cute are they? Not your everyday Christmas card, that is for sure!

The blades for the Circle Spin & Trim sit in the top of the tool. Love the on-board storage and the fact that there are two blades! To cut, one blade easily twists into the guides on the center of the tool. You can choose from so many different sizes!

After the blade is inserted, place your paper inside the Circle Spin & Trim. Firmly close the lid. See the piece that looks like a “Sorry” game board piece? It’s the handle. Simply turn the handle and it will cut your circle.

I cut out circles from green, red, aqua, and pink cardstock. Two for each card-for a front and back.

On one set of circles, I stamped and heat embossed the word joy. On the others, I added layers of stripes, created with white cardstock.

To make the ornament hanger, I trimmed silver glitter cardstock to size. (approximately 1” x 1”) I scored each piece of glitter cardstock in half, adhering one side to each piece of cardstock.

To have a place to “hang” the ornament from, I used my We R Memory Keepers Reinforcer Hole Punch. Punching the rings from the same silver glitter cardstock. Each ring was glued to the top, as shown.

On the inside of each card, I added another circle, one that was the next size smaller. Look at that perfect layering! Yay! The circle gave me a place to write some quick words.

After making these, I had so many more ideas! Wouldn’t it be cute to place a photo on the inside, above the writing? Oooh, and these would make adorable tags on Christmas gifts. Or just to use as ornaments themselves! What will you make with your Circle Spin & Trim?

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page

Hello, hello!  It’s Rebecca here today and I can’t believe how close we are to Christmas!  I know it’s still 6 weeks away, but that 6 weeks goes by so fast!  For me, so many things get lost in the holiday hustle, so this year I’m making more of an effort to not let that happen.  I don’t do too much in the way of scrapbooking, but every now and then, something extra special transpires, and I’ll want to remember it (and my feelings about it) forever.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Last December, I was buried in work and trying to meet deadlines and my kids were driving me crazy!  I think they were arguing, then wrestling, then arguing, then high-pitched screaming.  I finally separated them and told them to do something creative.  My then-7-year-old son took it upon himself to write a letter to Santa Claus and when he showed it to me later that night, my heart melted.  I held onto this letter all year and as the kids have been talking about starting their letters to Santa early this year, I pulled it out and decided this was just the sort of thing I wanted to remember.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I scanned the original letter into the computer and shrunk it down just a bit with photo editing software, then re-printed it.  I did this because I wanted to make it a little smaller to work with my 12×12 patterned paper, and because I had the idea that I wanted it to be sticking out of an envelope.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

How awesome is it that I could make my own envelope, in the size I wanted to use, with my 1-2-3 Punch Board?!  I could have used a boring long white envelope, but this way, I also got to use the patterned paper I wanted.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I followed the easy directions to create an envelope that was 4” W x 8” L from some Crate Paper Fa La La paper.  After assembling the envelope, I made an extra fold to the bottom flap, simply folding the top portion over to create a lower, flattened opening rather than the taller, pointed version.  This also allows for the addition of some extra embellishments in that space.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

I backed the letter copy with red cardstock and slid it into the envelope, tucking various die cuts into the front of the envelope for more color.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Texture and dimension are often a key design element in whatever I’m creating, and that was no different here.  I ruffled gold and white crepe papers along the sides of the back of my letter/envelope ensemble, as well as scraps of gold crepe along the top and bottom edges.  Then I adhered it all to the green buffalo check base paper.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

There were a few more small touches to put in place before my layout was complete; I jotted down the journaling part so I could indeed remember this moment—and my first instinct really was to go out that night and get my son ‘a cute litl pup’!  (But we didn’t, and we still don’t have a dog so…)

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Because this is a holiday layout, I thought it would be apropos to include a glittery ribbon bow and a tassel, both of which were easily made with We R Memory Keepers tools—the Bow and Tassel Looms, respectively.

Holiday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory KeepersHoliday Themed Scrapbook Page by Rebecca Luminarias for We R Memory Keepers

Like I mentioned, I don’t do too much scrapbooking or memory keeping, but every time I do, I remember how fun and satisfying it is.  Just as I will get sentimental looking back at this page years from now, I’m sure my son will enjoy it, too…but I doubt it will make up for the fact that Santa did not bring him a puppy that Christmas!

Wire Wrapped Holiday Candles

Hello and Happy Friday! It’s Aly here again and I’ve got a cool hostess gift idea to share. I’ve seen some really cool wire crafts making their way around the interwebs and I love how wire can be incorporated into just about any project. I decided to make some holiday candles with my Wick Candle Maker, and throw some Happy Jig wire at them to see what happened.

Wire Wrapped Holiday Candles by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

The combination of handmade candles and wire designs make for a unique hostess gift set. I started by making some candles with my Wick and the new Silicone Molds. I added some delicious holiday scents, and went with traditional red and green colors for the candles.

Wire Wrapped Holiday Candles by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

Important tips: 1) remind your recipient to remove the paper gift tag before lighting the candles; 2) The Wick Wire is not flammable but it does get hot near a flame, so use caution.

Once I finished the candles, I selected some holiday designs from the Happy Jig Instagram account (@werhappyjig) and used the free templates available there. I first chose the star design for my green diamond shaped candle, and I altered it slightly to look more like a holiday star. Here’s the template I ended up using.

Happy Jig Holiday Star

I left a lot of excess wire so I could wrap it around the candle. I used a household object in a cone shape (funnel) to wrap the wire around so I didn’t scratch and scuff up the candle in the process.

step out 2_wrap wire around cone shape

When I finished wrapping, I cut off the extra and gently slipped the formed wire spiral over the candle.

Wire Wrapped Holiday Candles by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

Next, I selected the reindeer head design for my red sphere candle. I made the reindeer head exactly as it is found on the @werhappyjig Instagram account, except I started and finished my wire down at the bottom of the design. Here’s the template I used:

Happy Jig Deer Head

Once I finished the reindeer head I wrapped the extra wire around a tennis ball (since it’s the same size as the sphere shaped candle) and trimmed it. Then I slipped it gently over my candle.

To finish off my candles, I added some gift tags that I cut out from the DCWV Red and White Christmas Premium Stack.

step out 4_gift tags

I used my Sticky Piercer to make a small hole in each tag, and then tied them onto the wire around the candles with some American Crafts Twine.

During the holidays most of our dinner parties are with extended family, so I can’t wait to share these with my sister-in-law! I think she’s going to love them. Thanks for stopping by, and have a awesome and crafty weekend friends!
