Handmade Halloween Treat Bags

Hello everybody! Soraya here today to share fun ideas to make your own Halloween treat bags and decorate them using the Tassel Loom! The tassels will become a bat, a witch’s broom and a ghost !

DIY Halloween Treat Bags by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

First of all you will need to make 3 tassels out of twine and yarn. The bat and the ghost are made with the Stitch Happy threads and the witch broom is made with orange cotton yarn. The Tassel Loom is the perfect tool to create all the any size tassel!

We R Memory Keepers Tassel Loom

Let’s start with the witch broom tassel! Instead of using yarn to create a handle for it, I used a piece of brown wire (the one in the Happy Jig collection) and twisted it on the top. This is one spooky broom so I added two scary eyes on it and some spiders too!

DIY Halloween Treat Bags by Soraya Maes for We R Memory KeepersDIY Halloween Treat Bags by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

The tassel bat is made in black thread. I cut two wings in a black embossed cardstock with my scissors and glued them on the back before adding a “boo” brad on the front.

The tassel ghost is my favorite one! I made a white tassel using thread at the smallest size the Tassel Loom could do. I added the eyes and the mouth with crystal dots. How fun!

And here are the three tassels reunited!

Let’s make the bags now! The Fringe & Score Board helped me shape the carstock with perfect lines! Don’t forget to let some room in the middle using the small ruler.  There will have to be about 2 inches on both edges.

Use the Mini Score Board to mark the fold on the paper (they will be the bottom of the bag).

Place the treat bag inside then glue each fringe together with the Mini Glue Gun. Then gather  all the fringes in one paper border like this:

Time to decorate each bag with the funny tassels! And voilà!

DIY Halloween Treat Boxes

Hello, crafty friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a spooky (not so much) Halloween treat packaging idea created with several We R Memory Keepers tools.

You might know by now how much I love tags; I use them on almost all of my projects, so I thought it would be fun to make “loaded” ones to give as party favors or just as a treat on Halloween day.

DIY Halloween Treat Boxes by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by trimming the tags to measure 4×8 inches. I used two sheets of patterned paper and one of white heavy weight cardstock, which I sandwiched in the middle to make the tags sturdy and durable. With the Tag Punch Board I cut the corners of all three before adhering them together.

We R Memory Keepers Tag Punch BoardWe R Memory Keepers Tag Punch Board

To make the box, the paper needs to measure 8×6 inches. With the help of the Mini Score Board, I creased it vertically at 1 and 2 inches, and horizontally at 4 and 5 inches, like in the photos below.

We R Memory Keepers Mini Score BoardWe R Memory Keepers Mini Score Board

Next, I cut the two bottom squares formed by the creases on both sides of the paper, and again just in between the ones above. I applied strong double-sided adhesive to assemble the box, and adhere it to the front of the tag.

At this point it was just a matter of decorating the boxes and make them “spooky”. The first thing I did was create wire words with the Happy Jig. I love this tool so much!!! I can’t stop creating with it! It is perfect to personalize your projects. I used the copper wire to spell “Boo” (I have a black one in the photo below to show the design better) and the black one to spell “Spooky”.

I arranged several chipboard stickers and die cuts from the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection to form clusters on the front of the loaded tags, and finished them with a double bow I made using the 1-2-3 Punch Board.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal

Hello We R friends! Laura here today showing you how to create a fun yearly mini envelope journal using the word punch board, mini score board, tab punch board, and square punch board. The word punch board is the perfect way to add titles and words to all your paper projects. And you can use both the punched-out strip and the punched-out letters in your projects.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I started by creating 12 mini envelopes. I used the mini score board to create envelopes that would fit a 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” paper. I trimmed my paper to 6” x 6” using the Trim & Score Board. Then, using the score guide, I scored the four lines for the envelope. You could also use the envelope punch board or mini envelope punch board for this step.

Make mini envelopes with the Mini Score Board and the 3 Way Corner Punch by We R Memory Keepers

Cut the V shape notches out of the envelope and use the 3-way corner punch to round the top and bottom corners of the envelope. Then, use adhesive to assemble the envelopes.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Fold the top of the envelope on the score line and place adhesive on the outside of the flap. Attach it to the back side of the envelope before it. Repeat these steps for all the rest of the envelopes.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

To create a cover for the mini envelope journal, I trimmed one of the sentiment cards from the cardstock stack to the same size as the envelopes. I attached it to the front using the top flap of the first envelope.

On the inside cover I created a title page with a small patterned cardstock square and the words “MY YEAR” punched out using the word punch board.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Since I wanted this to be a yearly journal, I added the months to each envelope using strips of coordinating paper and the word punch board. Since the album is so small I only did the first three letters of each month.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Word Punch Board

I wanted to be able to add a picture or journaling inside each envelope. I used the square punch board to quickly cut out twelve 3” x 3” squares from white cardstock.

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I then used the tab punch board to create tabs to easily be able to pull out the card from the envelope. Use the mini score board to score your paper scrap at 1”. Fold the paper in half and then line up the edge with the side tab guide placed. Flip the paper over, line up the edge to the small tab guide and punch again. Use the top trimmer to perfectly trim the tab.

Create different sizes and styles of tabs with the Tab Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I dumped out all the little letters from the word punch board and added the coordinating month letters to each tab. The Quickstik Tool makes it easy to pick up the little letters. Once the letters were glued on, I attached the tabs to each of the white cardstock squares.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Word Punch BoardYearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I think it will be fun to add little mementos inside the envelopes like movie tickets, concert stubs, or even receipts to remind us of our fun adventures throughout the year. And I can add journaling or pictures to the small cardstock squares in each envelope.

Handmade Gift Ideas with the Precision Press Advanced

Hello WeR fans and welcome back to the blog today! It’s Chantalle with you, to share some ideas using the all-new Advanced Precision Press stamping platform. If you are a fan of stamping then let me tell you, this is a must-have tool. I’m not the world’s biggest stamper by any means, but I have quite a few because they look so darn cute. I spent a couple of nights playing with this platform, and by the end of them, I was absolutely hooked!

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

The Press can be used on it’s own, as a base for freehand stamping or pop on an extra press plate for layered stamping!

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons
This floral encouragement card was created using two techniques, which I will go into detail with you below.

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

First, I experimented with a watercolour technique. My watercolour paper was held in place with the magnets provided in the packaging. Unfortunately, during transit, mine broke so I found a great little tip online of holding the bits in place with some strong binding tape. (The tape actually also makes them easier to pick up off the paper so it’s worth a go if you struggle with that kind of thing.) Next, I arranged where I wanted the stamps to go, on my paper. I placed the acrylic plate over the top and picked up the stamps. I then coloured in areas of the stamp with some Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers. After that, they had a quick little spritz with some water and then I positioned the acrylic plate onto the pegs and pressed down to stamp.

The image revealed was very subtle, but that’s the beauty of a stamping platform – you can keep going back to an area until you have a perfect impression!

I built up layers of colour until I was happy with the result and then used my Detail Scissors to cut the flowers out.

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

The background of the card is this beautiful, moody Hawthorne paper by Heidi Swapp. I’ve positioned my same Vicki Boutin flower stamps over the paper and picked them up again with the acrylic plate. Now as you can see from the image, my stamps are hanging a bit off my paper. I wanted the flowers to bleed off the edge so I popped a piece of scrap paper underneath the patterned paper to catch any excess ink.

I used Versamark for my impression and then covered the area with white embossing powder which I heat set.

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

The contrast between the dark papers, white embossing and pops of bright watercolour turned out so nicely. I’ve used some gorgeous Coral Bazzill cardstock and paired it with another Vicki Boutin stamped sentiment as well as a Heidi Swapp Hawthorne die cut shape.

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

The next project I created is this mixed media piece of art. You might remember I created a similar piece a few months ago… My friend at work really loved it and it’s her birthday coming up, so I created this version for her. It was so much fun to create and I can’t wait to give it to her!

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons
As you can imagine, there are lots and lots of yummy details to take in on this piece. The focal point is that beautiful drawn lady which is from a Jane Davenport paper pad. I love the figures she draws. This young lady has been given a few slicks of watercolour paint and a bit of detail with some delicate Vicki Boutin Rub Ons.

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

My Precision Press Advanced came into play when trying to plan the layout of the image. Initally, I wanted to use a few Amy Tangerine die cut shapes, but there needed to be a large contrast between the sizes of things on the page. The background is brushed on watercolour and then I have placed some Vicki Boutin circular stamp shapes onto the paper. Because the side of the Press is open, you can use many size papers with it, which is great!

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

When I was happy with the stamping, I ran some gorgeous gold art screen ink over a woodgrain texture Heidi Swapp art screen.

Next came some texture paste and a bit more paint as well as lots of finer details like some circles cut with my fave Circle Clear Cut Punch out. These have also been given a bit of watercolour treatment. Other details are things like gold leave (all the heart eyes!!) as well as some rub ons.

I hope she likes it!

My final little gift idea is this mini travel notebook/journal. Now I’ve got to give credit to a friend of mine who has taken a bit of inspiration from us scrappers! He whipped up heaps of these little notebooks and gave them to all of us as work, which I thought was pretty awesome.

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

I’ve used the same principal of a simple folded 6×7 inch piece of paper (a sturdier one is best like good quality patterned paper or cardstock) then rounded the edges with my ever-faithful WRMK Crop A Dile Corner Chomper and decorated the cover using my Advanced Precision Press.

Folding the paper was so easy thanks to the adorable new Mini Score Board. It’s lightweight and perfect for smaller projects like this one and very compact so you can keep it close to hand in your craft space.

The starburst shape has been embossed with Zing Gold Glitter Embossing Powder.

This notebook has a simple staple finish holding the sheets of paper together. I’ve  used a marker and coloured mine black so they don’t stand out as much on the patterned paper.

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

I use this type of notebook for so many things like shopping lists, or quick ideas as well as keeping a note of what craft supplies I use on projects. So handy and super easy to put together!

Handmade Gifts with the Precision Press Advanced by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers featuring Vicki Boutin stamps and rubons

Thanks again for stopping by. One could go even further by stamping on plain wrapping/brown paper to make custom designs and create matching envelopes for cards with the Envelope Punch Board then customize it with the Precision Press! Perhaps you might consider one of these ideas for your gift giving. Until next time, happy crafting!

Accordion Fold Card Organizer

Hello WeR fans and welcome back to the blog today! It’s Chantalle back with you today to show you how a great way to organize your handmade cards and tags. I’ve had the joy of working with some amazing new release paper pads by DCWV these last few weeks and let me tell you, they are definitely worth adding to your stash! The two stacks I’d like to focus on today are the ‘Die Cut Shapes’ which features loads of die cut shapes and gold foil accents and ‘Just my Type’.

DIY Accordion Card Organizer by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

This organizer was supposed to be a little card and envelope gift set for someone (and still could be if I can bare to let go of it lol!) but it sort of morphed into a bit more than that and now contains an assortment of little cards and tags that I can turn to when I’m in need of last minute gift tag or thank you note.

DIY Accordion Card Organizer by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers
The accordion fold looked simple at first. I searched the web for a suitable technique and will admit to struggled a bit in the beginning, fine tuning it for my purposes. Now that I know how it turns out, you will definitely spend less time on it if you wish to create a similar little folder for yourself!

The base for the folder is made out of 1 sheet of 12×12 paper. I tried cardstock and patterned paper but neither yielded the results I was looking for. I settled for a thinner paper and the perfect weight for this job was from a sheet of DCWV ‘Celebrations’ 12×12 Stack. The paper is single sided and folded really nicely.

I first tried ¾ inch score lines on my  Score Board but that width didn’t fold up quite as well on ½ an inch. I scored across the paper, every half inch and then rotated the paper anti clockwise and scored again at 3 and 9 inches respectively. I then folded the larger sections in towards themselves (see pic 2 below) to deepen the score line.

Folding the paper up into a long line once more, I then tucked and folded up the folds in the accordion. Watching a video will make this seem a bit less complex. Click here for some selections:

We R Memory Keepers Score Board

As you can see, I tried a couple of times to get the ends to stand up nicely so that I could add my cardstock dividers. A 12×12 sheet of paper created this folder which has 11 pockets and is 6 inches across and just over 3 inches high. This would be really great to organize project life cards as well!

In between the accordion pockets, I popped some printed cardstock dividers from the fabulous DCWV ‘Just my Type’ 12×12 Stack. This gorgeous pad is bright and beautiful and has awesome clear embossing elements! The dividers are just a touch under 6 inches across and 3 inches high. You may have to tweak them to fit perfectly, to suit your folding etc.

The next step was to add tabs to the dividers, so I can see at a glance what each pocket contains!

DIY Accordion Card Organizer by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

My Typecast Typewriter was perfect for this task. I typed my headings directly onto the patterned paper and then used my Tab Punch Board to punch out the tab shapes. These were then glued to the pockets.

Now that I had my folder ready, it was time to fill it with a selection of cards and tags!

I cut several pieces of Bazzill cardstock in various shades, each 3×6 inches across. I then use my Mini Score Board (heart eyes for this little tool, seriously!!) to score at 3 inches across so I could get a nice neat fold.

Mini Score Board

Embellishing my cards was SO easy, thanks to the Die Cut Shapes stack. This baby is packed full of various shapes and colors and all to use at the drop of a hat – simply pop out the shape you want and adhere! TIP: At times you will get the little ‘grips’ that stick around after you have popped a die cut shape out of the stencil. These are easy to nip off with a bit of fine sandpaper or another fave new tool, my little Detail Scissors.

Here are some cards I created using various die cuts, which I have just added some detail to with little embellies like enamel dots, glossy accents, ribbon or machine stitching.

Some super quick generic cards. TIP: I’ve brought out a bit of detail on the flowers using some Crystal Drops which you can get in various shades online.

Cheerful notes sure to brighten someone’s day!

I’ve highlighted the gold foil on the bird die cut with some Vicki Boutin Rub-Ons. I find it really annoying when a rub-on is difficult to, erm rub on. But these go on like a breeze! I used my Embossing Stylus to apply them.

DIY Accordion Card Organizer by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

Here are some larger tags I included in the set. They are also from the die cut pad. I’ve snipped the top corners off using my Tag Punch Board and run some ribbon through them so they’re ready to use. A bit of detail has also been added to them in the form of finding an ‘echo’ shape like the bigger bird or flower and adding it with some foam tape to the tag for some dimension.

DIY Accordion Card Organizer by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

I also created some mini tags from various shapes like emoji’s. This pad is so full of variety, I have no doubt you will find the exact shape you are looking for.

Lastly, I need some co-ordinating envelopes for these guys! I used my DCWV ‘Celebrations’ 12×12 Stack again as the paper is perfect for envelopes. To make these mini beauties, I used the oh-so-adorable Mini Envelope Punch Board. This little punchboard will create envelopes for cards up to 4×4 inches.

The cute baby brother to the Envelope Punch Board!

A little random pocket I added was a ‘Bits & Pieces’ section. I’ve put some little embellies here like paperclips etc to adhere your card or tag to a gift. I’ve also folded up some cut ribbon sections and added some clear circular stickers.

Baby Mini Book with the Happy Jig

Hello everyone!  It’s Eva here today sharing with you a baby mini album embellished with the new Happy Jig

Baby Mini Book with the Happy Jig by Eva PIzarro for We R Memory Keepers

I love this new tool! It is so innovative and something you haven’t since in the industry so far! Plus, it is very easy to use and you can make shapes to embellish mini albums, layouts, cards or any craft project.

To make the mini album, start by cutting 2 paper strips of 4 ¼ inch height. I used my Mini Score Board to score my paper every 3 ¼ inch.

Mini Score Board by We R Memory Keepers

I also wanted to include a confetti shaker on my mini album so I filled a small photo sleeve with stars and sequins and I closed it with my Fuse Ruler and the new USB Heat Tool with the Fuse tip.
USB Power Heat Tool with Fuse Tip by We R Memory Keepers

To create the shaker I used my Clear Cut Punch to cut two hearts on the edges of the strips, one on the left and one on the right.

I glue the two ends together with double sided tape and put the confetti shaker inside.

I used my Sticky Piercer to make holes all over my heart and the paper’s edge, the key is to make the same amount of hearts on one shape and on the other one!

Using your twine from the Happy Jig join the outer and the inner holes together.

Crafter's Essentials Hand Tools by We R Memory Keepers

Now for the Happy Jig embellishments. This tools comes with a manual with lots of shapes and you can also see other designs on the We R Happy Jig dedicated Instagram account (@werhappyjig). But I assure you it is very easy to make your own shapes! I created this wire frame in no time!

I also did a “boy” shape for my title. The dimension it adds is amazing! To hold your shape in place you can use a strong liquid adhesive or a few stitches.

Here are the “boy” coordinates:

Start: L9

Small Pegs: K11. N12. N16, K21. J24, P25

Medium Pegs: G12, M14, M23

Big Pegs: M18, Q22
