Here’s a video tour of all the goodies available:

I used the “Love Grows Here’ Die/Emboss set with the coordinating layered stamps to create a DIY embellishment for this easy cake topper.

Here’s how I made the cake topper:

1. Ink one side of the first stamp layer with the lightest color ink and stamp on the precut 3×5 inch white paper using the Mini Precision Press Advanced that comes with the Mini Evolution Kit.

step out 1

2. Ink the other side of the first stamp layer with another light or medium color ink (I used lime green) and stamp. Then ink the leaf side of the second stamp layer with the green ink and stamp.

step out 2

3. Select a sentiment stamp to insert into the second stamp layer. Use the darkest color ink on the second half of the second stamp layer, and stamp with the Mini Precision Press.

step out 3

4. Place the stamped paper into the die/emboss folder, matching up the image to the dies, place the folder between the Emboss Plate and the Base Plate and run through the Mini Evolution Advanced.

step out 4step out 5

5. Fold the two smaller flowers to add dimension to your DIY embellishment.

step out 6

6. Using the Square Punch Board, punch a 3×4 inch rectangle from dark blue cardstock and a 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 inch rectangle from medium blue paper. Adhere them together.

step out 7

7. Adhere the DIY embellishment to the blue background using foam squares for the smaller flowers. Add blue flower eyelets for hanging to the top two corners using the Crop-A-Dile.

step out 8

8. Thread some Stitch Happy thread through the eyelets and tie the ends to two paper straws. Insert the straws into the top of your cake and enjoy!

New Year’s Eve Party Favor with the Emoji Punch Board

Hello We R fans! Kimberly here today with a sweet (literally) party favor for your upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations. It’s a busy time of year during the holidays, but when we host a gathering, we still want to have those handmade, extra-special touches. This project is going to check all those boxes for you! Easy, thoughtful, and fun! The We R Memory Keepers Emoji Punch Board is going to bring out the smiles in everyone!

The time-honored tradition of kissing your love at midnight can stay alive and well (and cootie free) with these adorable kisses, with a kissy face.

Using the Emoji Punch Board and the pre-cut paper pad, I made these kissy faces quickly! The faces are almost the exact same size as the candy, so they fit perfectly on the bottom with a small amount of adhesive.

Beginning with the heart eyes, I followed the instructions on the punch board. To create the heart eyes, I placed my paper on the side labeled “eyes” on the punch board. I flipped my paper over and punched the second eye. I followed that with the mouth, and then the final punch of the circle shape. These are so cute, I may need to make more for Valentine’s Day!

To help explain to the guests what the treat is, I created a card of sorts. Using the Word Punch Board, I created paper strips saying “kiss me at midnight.” Behind the letters, I layered glitter cardstock to bring some shine to the project. I also added a couple of glitter kissy faces to the card as well. Fast and fun and sure to be memorable as well!

Who will you be “kissing” at midnight this year?

Halloween Cupcake Toppers

Hey there We R friends! It’s Aly here again with some fun Halloween party decor to share with you. I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I’m creating a holiday themed project I just can’t seem to find the right themed supplies that works with what I’ve imagined in my mind. When that happens, I turn to my non-holiday themed supplies and get creative!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

This Halloween season I’ve been inspired by ravens, owls, moths, and other vintage style critter images. I wanted to create something like that for my cupcake toppers, but I didn’t have a Halloween themed stamp that looked anything like that. So, I grabbed my Precision Press Advanced, the CMYK Bird Layered Stamps, some silver, grey, and black ink pads, and went to work!

The CMYK Stamps are made to work with the CMYK Ink Pads, which is how I usually create with them. But this time, I used a grayscale color scheme instead of the cyan, magenta, yellow and black to create a different look.

I picked four colors of ink: silver, grey, charcoal and black, and followed the same sequence of stamping as I do with the CMYK Stamps: charcoal first, grey second, silver third, and black last.

Once I stamped all of my black birds, I used my Detail Scissors to fussy cut the shapes. To dress up my cupcakes, I made some cupcake wrappers with the DIY Party Board and some black marble paper from the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection.

step out 2

Then I glued the wrappers together, and glued some black and write striped straw segments to my blackbirds with the USB Power Mini Glue Gun. Hot glue is my go-to adhesive for 3D paper crafts.

To finish off my cupcake toppers, I added black seguin stickers for the eyes, and black floss bows I made with the Bow Loom and some black Stitch Happy thread.

I love the texture that the monochromatic colors and the layered stamps create!

The toppers together with the black marble cupcake wrappers look pretty cool too!

If you’re sitting on the fence about the Precision Press Advanced, I highly recommend going for it! I love it. It has totally changed how I feel about stamping, and I’m never going back! Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll “see” you next time.

Emoji Party Decor

Hi everybody! Soraya here today to share 5 fun tutorials on how to throw an Emoji Party using the amazing Emoji Punch Board that will allow you to create all the emojis you’ll want! Let’s make a colorful garland, decorate pretty straws, create cupcake toppers, treat bags and surprise cones! Here we go!

Emoji Party Decor by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

The Emoji Punch Board is really awesome. With a small paper square (1.5×1.5 inches) and 3 punches (or 4 depending on the face you want) you get a super fun emoji! It has never been so easy to create a smiling face! So before diving into the tutorials, you’ll need to prepare all squares to make the emojis. Here is a super tip for you: use the Square Punch Board and you’ll get all the squares very fast! I placed mine in little containers and punched about 130 various emojis.

Let’s start with the straws and the toppers. There is nothing easier: just use the USP Power Mini Glue Gun to place some emojis on them and then (for the toppers) add another circle behind for more fun!

For the suprise cones: use the DIY Party Board to create mini cones. Decorate them with twine, emojis and puffy stickers!

I also used the Word Punch Board to create mini “PARTY” labels that I adhered with my Mini Glue Gun. I just love how the words pop out of the cones!

For the treat bags, I used the Clear Cut Punch to create small tags then I attached them to the kraft bags before adding the emojis and the embellishments.

For the garland, I took all the emojis left from the previous projects and used my Stitch Happy to sew them altogether.

And voilà! Time to party now!

Giant Flower Party Backdrop

Hello there We R friends! It’s Aly here with you again to finish off Flower Week with a larger-than-life party backdrop idea. Create a giant flower backdrop with the Template Studio Starter Kit, Flower Template Guide, and some Designer Poster Board!

Giant Flower Party Backdrop by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

This giant flower backdrop is perfect for a luau, summer pool party, a bridal shower, a wedding, a baby girl shower, a tea party, and more.

Giant Flower Party Backdrop by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

All you need to do is select poster board colors and/or patterns that fit with your event or theme.

Giant Flower Party Backdrop by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

To make your own giant flower backdrop, start by trimming your poster board to the size shown in the instruction manual based on the flower size you’ve selected. Then follow the directions to cut out and score your flower petals using the flower template guide.

Fold the score lines as explained in the instructions, and secure the petals with a strong adhesive. I recommend hot glue for this project, and the American Crafts Sticky Thumb Cordless Glue Gun is my favorite. No limiting cord to worry about!

This is what your flower will look like once you’ve finished. (For a video tutorial on making flowers with the Template Studio, visit our YouTube channel HERE.)

Layer multiple flowers for more dimension and color.

Then add a loop of twine to the back for hanging.

To create the flower center, cut a 12 inch long strip of paper that’s 3-4 inches wide, and cut some fringe into it.

Roll up the paper and secure it with hot glue or another strong adhesive.

Then curl back the fringe to add some dimension and texture, and then hot glue it to the center of the flower.

Make several flowers in different sizes and styles for a show-stopping backdrop for your next event!

Birthday Gift Ideas

Handmade gifts are always appreciated and what could be better to receive than an altered Desktop Calendar?

Monthly Calendar1

Creating this project is easy and doesn’t take a lot of supplies.  I used stickers and patterned paper from the Hip Hip Hooray collection and altered a Maya Road Clear Acrylic Calendar. The chipboard tabs were easy to ink and embellish.

Monthly Calendar2

I chose inks that matched the collections to ink the chipboard around the edges.

Monthly Calendar3

Then I covered them with paper cut at 3 3/4 x 5 3/4. I used the 3’8 Corner Chomper to round the corners and adhered to the chipboard using adhesive.

Monthly Calendar 4

Now you just have to add the calendar layered with colored cardstock and adhered with 3D foam squares. Finish by embellishing to suit your style.

Monthly Calendar 5

Now you’re ready to package up your creation and give it to someone special.

What was a favorite handmade gift you’ve made and then given away?

DIY paper party hat with a free printable template

Print

Welcome to Tutorial Tuesday!  Aly here (I get to see you each Tuesday and Thursday–lucky me!) to share an easy DIY paper party hat with a free printable template.  I actually made this hat for my daughter to wear on Crazy Hat Day at school during Red Ribbon Week. But you can use this template and tutorial to create your own custom hat for any type of celebration.

Step 1: Download the printable party hat template HERE, cut it out, and trace it onto your patterned paper.  Cut out the party hat, form a cone shape, and hot glue the edges together to secure.
Step 2: Cut several 3 x ¼ inch strips of Feelin’ Groovy patterned paper using the Twist Trimmer.  Use a rubber band to secure them together at the bottom.  Insert the ends into the top of the hat so that the rubber band is covered and secure with hot glue.  Gently bend the strips down and fan them out.
Step 3: Add some border strips cut with the Twist Trimmer, a Feelin’ Groovy embossed tag tied with baker’s twine, and some embossed Feelin’ Groovy stickers.  Secure them with hot glue.
Step 4: Add eyelets to the bottom sides of the hat and tie some baker’s twine to hold the hat in place on the birthday child.
