Mother’s Day Photo Gift Idea

Hi! Welcome to the We R blog! It’s Eva Pizarro here showing you how to make a beautiful and quick Mother’s Day gift using the Photo Lights Collection.

Mother's Day Photo Lights Gift by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

Ever since I had a son, my mom loves to receive pictures of her with her only grandson. The Photo Lights frame is a different approach to the classic photo frame, and I can assure you your mom is going to love it!

The first thing you need to do is print your picture on the backlit paper with an inkjet printer. You need to print it on the textured side. To figure out which one it is, I like to run my finger through the paper. If it doesn’t make a sound that’s the glossy side, if it does then that’s the textured side.

Use the Photo Lights Rub-ons to embellish your picture. In each package you get 20 different designs in 3 colors: white, black and gold.

Place your photo inside the magnetic Photo Lights Frame. The picture is protected by a sturdy acrylic sheet and you can light the frame with AA batteries or plug it using a Micro USB cable.

To embellish my gift I used the Magnolia Jane collection and my 1,2,3 Punch Board to make a large bow and a 3×4 envelope.

I wrapped my frame with a strip of paper and used these beautiful clips to hold my card in place.

I put my bow on top of my frame and closed my envelope with a clear sticker.

And this is how the frame looks once is lit! I think it is gorgeous during the day or the night, now I want to make one for myself!

DIY Easter Decor

Hello We R Fans and welcome back to the blog today. It felt like only yesterday I was sharing some ideas for Easter decor with you! How time flies. This wonderful and blessed time of year is almost here and again, I would love to share a little section of my craft room with you which I have decorated especially for Easter.

DIY Easter Decor by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory Keepers

I have two pretty simple little shelves in my room where I like to display lots of pretties, but also keep the bits and pieces I use a lot so they are close to hand. The top of the units are a perfect place to keep favourite projects or nicknacks.

I will freely admit to having a small crush on all things ‘bunny’. My collection is growing and this year I have added this adorable mini cake stand! A simple and easy way to decorate without the long term commitment is to add some hand cut bits, like a butterfly or two, with some temporary adhesive like ‘Blu Tack’. (This is an Australian product name but after searching on the net, the equivalent sounds like ‘Plasti-Tac’ or Poster Tac.)

The main feature of my Easter display is a 12×12 image which I have created and displayed inside an Organization Gallery Shadow Box Frame. My ideas on how exactly it would look changed a bit during the creative process, but I wanted to create a main title with some custom lettering and I also knew I wanted to have several elements making up the whole display.

For my title, I started off by trimming the pieces of paper I would need for my word ‘EASTER”. I used my Mini Alphabet Punch Board (which takes 1.5 inch x 2.5 inch pieces) to punch out my letters. These soft florals are from the new Pebbles line, ’Simple Life’.

Once all the letters were complete, I then made swift work of lining them all up in a straight line, with my Laser Square.

For added interest over the pretty woodgrain print of the paper, I did some basic black stamping with this floral stamp from the new Vicki Boutin collection. This stamp set also comes with coordinating metal dies, so I cut some of the shapes out of similar paper and then used the shapes to build up layers of stickers and ephemera I started assembling.

Here is a closer look at some of the details. You might notice a touch of vellum at the bottom of the little stack. This paper is SO pretty and the touches of gold were perfect for the overall look and feel of this display piece. Other tiny details are the mini flowers I created using an Elegant Font Punch . I added a little centre to the flower shape with some white Crystal Drops.

And here is how the framed piece turned out!

I’ve echoed those beautiful butterflies here and there. They have been hand-cut from a sheet of Wildflower ‘Butterfly Garden’.

Pops of gold shine in the opposite corner on this piece of ephemera from the Take Me Away collection by Pink Paislee. Both of these stacks include some Simple Life stickerspuffy stickers and hand cut flowers.

The last item incorporated into my display is this super cute 5×7 Photo Light. The acrylic frame is backlit and this one has a natural wood finish so it coordinated well with the white shelving and woodgrain papers in the frame.

For my photo light, I set up a document the same size in Photoshop. I then used some digital Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss elements and added some text. (note, I changed the colour of the little ‘oh so cute’ ephemera to better match the background pattern.)

I then printed my digital pic onto some Photo Light Printable Backlit Film Paper. NOTE: It’s important to print onto the more matte side as the ink will not stick to the glossier side. (Hold the paper up the light and give it a little feel to see which side feels more glossy.) It’s also worth printing a reversed copy of your image, so it is a bit more protected when it’s under the top magnetic plate.

The printed image sits on top of the light box area but underneath a protective sheet made from sturdy acrylic which has magnets in the corners to keep your image in place.

This is how fabulous it looks when it’s turned on! Note: The frame runs off 3x AA batteries or a Micro USB cable (not included).

Wishing you, your families and friends, a very happy time together. Until next time

GO BIG with the Photo Lights Collection

Hey there, We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here. I’m so excited to share with you a really fun, really easy family photo light box. You only need a few supplies to create this awesome piece of home decor.

Family Photo Light Box by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

I started by gathering a few supplies. All you’ll need is an 8×8 photo light, a few photo light rub-ons, and printable backlit film.

Photo Lights by We R Memory Keepers

The first thing I did to create this fun project was to print my photo on the backlit film. Even though I had an 8×8 frame I printed my photo at 5×7. I love that I could print my photo from home on my inkjet printer.

Photo Lights by We R Memory Keepers

I printed the photo on an 8 ½ x 11 piece of photo film. Before I added the photo to the Photo Light Box I trimmed the film to an 8×8 piece with the photo in the center. I added a few rub ons above and below the photo to create the “Hugs & Kisses” and “Family” sentiments.

This project was SO easy and SO fun to create. It’s such a fun addition to my living room decor. Thank you for stopping by the We R Memory Keepers blog today. I’ll see you again soon.

Happy New Year Photo Lights Display

Good morning We R readers. I can’t believe that this year is already coming to an end and we are getting ready to embark on a brand new fresh start. Once the holiday decor goes down, it can feel a little bare in my home so I like to add some warmth back in to keep away the cold, dreary days of winter.

I love the new Photo Lights photo frames that were recently released. You print out your design on special backlit film that you can print out right from your home computer.

I thought it would be fun to create a glittery happy new year photo that I could display to celebrate the new year. I started by designing an 8 inch x 8 inch design in Photoshop Elements.

happy-new-year-photo-lights-display-by-laura-silva-2

Note: To use this photo, simply right-click and save the image.

The backlit photo paper comes in 8 ½ x 11 inch sheets. I printed my image and then trimmed it to fit on the frame.

You can see right through the image, but it is still very clear.

happy-new-year-photo-lights-display-by-laura-silva-4

The photo frames are so easy to use. The front attaches with little magnets in each corner.

happy-new-year-photo-lights-display-by-laura-silva-5

Add your special photo paper to the frame, secure it to the front with the acrylic magnetic photo cover, add your batteries and turn it on. It even has a timer so you can have your frame turn on and off when you would like.

I created a little light garland behind the frame using the DIY Party lights and some gold tassels. The DIY Party line makes it easy to add some sparkle and shine to any project.

The frame looks even prettier in person. It is sparkly and fun – perfect for ringing in the new year! And I can easily change out the frame when I am done celebrating.

Photo Lights and Light Strand Christmas Decor

Hello there! Tessa Buys here with a look at my entryway Christmas décor, featuring the new Photo Light and light strands.

photo-lights-and-light-strand-1

My holiday décor is mainly red, black and white with touches of metallic and natural wood. I chose to use the Natural Wood Finish 8×8 Photo Lights frame because it complimented the rest of my decorations. Instead of printing my photo in color, I used a filter to make my photo an extreme black and white. It printed beautifully from my home printer onto the special backlit film. I added a “love” rub-on to the photo.

photo-lights-and-light-strand-2

It was easy to assemble the frame. I cut down the backlit film to size, then simply laid the picture between the box and the magnetic face plate. I popped in the batteries and it was good to go!

photo-lights-and-light-strand-3

I layered a few stars made with the Ruler Studio collection against a chalkboard frame, then hung a DIY Party strand of lights with gold glittered bulbs across the stars. They give off a warm glow, which is a lovely contrast to the cool glow of the Photo Light.

photo-lights-and-light-strand-4

To me, nothing says Christmas quite like the glow of lights, and when those lights can be extra special like a strand with pretty bulbs or a precious family photo, it’s even more magical.
