DIY Coin Envelope Planner Insert

Hello friends! Today we’re sharing a past blog project that’s one of our most popular posts for Punch Board Week. Check it out!

Aly Dosdall here again to share a fun punch board project. Using the 123 Punch Board I made a coin style envelope to hold my planner accessories, and then I punched it with the Planner Punch Board to fit into my small Heidi Swapp Memory Planner. I used some beautiful paper and embellishments from the new Heart of Home collection by Jen Hadfield for Pebbles Inc.

This envelope is perfect for storing embellishments, photos, receipts or other ephemera, and I love how easy it was to make with these punch boards. Honestly, I’m not sure what I did before punch boards! Ha!

To make the coin envelope, I followed the instructions on the 123 Punch Board to make a 4 x 5 1/2 inch envelope. I love that the instructions for envelopes, boxes, and bows are printed on the board. So handy!

123 Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I cut my paper to 8×8 inches, and then lined it up on the board at 3 1/2 inches. Then I followed the instructions to punch and score on all four sides of my paper.

There’s no need to round the corners for this envelope. Instead, I pulled out my Trim and Score Board and trimmed 7/8 inch off the top, bottom, and one side of the envelope.

To assemble the envelope, I added some Sticky Thumb Red Double Sided Tape to the side that I trimmed, and then folded up the bottom flap first, then the untrimmed side, and lastly the trimmed side.

In order to keep the envelope 4 inches wide for photos, I added a 1 x 5 1/2 inch strip of cardstock for punching with the Planner Punch Board.

I added a strip of washi tape to the front and back of the strip for added support for the punched holes and as an embellishment.

Next, I added a button and string closure to the envelope. I used leftover ones from some Typecast treat bags, but you can easily make your own with a 1/2 inch hole punch, some brads (or eyelets), and some twine.

Finally, I added some embellishments from the Heart of Home collection on the front and back of the envelope.

I added it to my planner and filled it with some stickers, tags, die cuts, and other embellishments for my planner.

Tab Punch Board Mini Album

Hey there We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here, to share a mini album that I created with the Tab Punch Board and a few other We R Memory Keepers tools. I LOVE making mini albums, especially mini albums from scratch. There are a few tools that are a must have for creating mini albums. I have to have the trim and score board, the planner punch board, the Stitch Happy sewing machine, and the tab punch board. Who doesn’t love cute tabs in their mini albums?

Tab Punch Board mini album _Currently by Becki Adams_MAIN PHOTO

This is a smaller mini album with only 5 pages (including the covers). The album is titled “currently…” it’s an album showcasing each person in our family and their current interests. I created one page for each of our kids and then my husband and I share the last page. I started by cutting all of the pages from patterned paper to 6 inches wide and seven inches tall. When I had all the pages of the album cut I punched holes in each page. The planner punch board is awesome for punching holes into pages for mini albums because I can adjust the punch board and punch all of the pages and they’ll all be exactly the same.

Planner Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

Because I wanted the tabs on the pages to be double sided and have a different pattern than the actual pages, I cut a two-inch strip of patterned paper and folded it in half before using the tab punch board. This punch board is so versatile. I love that I can create small, medium, or large tabs with the same tool! After I made the tabs, I stitched them on the edge of the pages. By stitching them in place, you’re guaranteed that the tabs will stay in place!

After the tabs were stitched in place, I typed each family members name with my typecast typewriter on white cardstock. Then, I cut the names into small strips and adhered them to the corresponding tabs.

Here’s what the inside of the album looks like. I love the tabs, the stitching, and of course, the typed journaling.

Easy Planner Inserts with the Tag Punch Board

Hello everybody! Soraya here with you today for a new project using the Tag Punch Board, the new tool that allows you to create effortlessly tons of tags for all your different projects. It’s a mini board but definitely effective. I created a planner insert and extra photo-tags!

To make the insert and the photo tags you will need to gather with your planner some colorful papers, bakers twine, black cardstock, diecuts or stickers and of course the Tag Punch Board. I also used the fantastic Planner Punch Board and the Hole Reinforcer Punch for a perfect finish!

Tag Punch Board Planner Inserts by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

First of all, to create my insert I cut a beautiful paper with pink chevrons from the Heidi Swapp Hawthorne collection. The dimensions are made to fit my mini memory planner: 6 5/8 x 2.5 inch. I used my Trim & Score Board for a quick and perfect cut!

Trim and Score Board by We R Memory Keepers

Let’s shape the tag! This board is very easy to use since you have different guides to help you chose the depth you want to give to the corners. The more you slide the paper up on the board, the deeper the angles will be! So I decided to place the paper on the G line. Once you cut the first corner, turn the paper on the other side and repeat the process on the same line. Use the punch you have on the board to make the tag hole and voilà!

Now grab your Planner Punch Board and your Hole Reinforcer Punch to transform this tag into a cute planner insert! I used some black cardstock and black twine to contrast with the bright colors. Add some decorations and your tag/insert is ready to be placed in your planner.

What about creating photo-tags to add more details in your planner?! So easy and fun! Repeat the same process but use a photo instead of the paper. The Crop-A-Dile will help you to enlarge the tag hole so that you’ll be able to add a reinforcer before inserting it to your binder! So cool !

2018 Planner Calendar Insert | Free Printable

Hello, and Merry Christmas friends! It’s Aly here today, and I hope you’re enjoying the holiday and spending lots of precious time with loved ones. I’ve got a gift for you today–a free printable 2018 planner calendar!

Planner Calendar Inserts by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

I created monthly calendar inserts for my Heidi Swapp personal planner. I like to put these at the beginning of each month in my planner as a quick date reference.

Planner Calendar Inserts by Aly Dosdall

I printed the planner calendar inserts on plain white cardstock, and then cut them out with my Trim and Score Board. These inserts are 4 x 7 1/4 inches–the perfect size for the Heidi Swapp personal planner.

If you’d like to print your own, you can download the free pdf file by clicking the link below.

2018 Planner Calendar

The inserts come two to a sheet, so you’ll need 6 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 inch cardstock. Once you trim them, you can use the Planner Punch Board to add them to your planner. I used the spiral punch insert since my planner is spiral bound.

I also added a decorative strip of washi tape that I cut with the Washi Chomper. I love that little tool and find myself using it all the time. I found that adding the washi tape before punching the insert with the Planner Punch Board worked the best.

To complement my monthly calendar inserts, I decorated the opposite page with embellishments from the Heidi Swapp Memory Planner Embellishment Kit, and a few stickers from the Chasing Dreams collection by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.

If you’re not a planner fan, you can still use this free printable 2018 calendar. You can print it and bind the pages with the Cinch binding tool along the left edge. There’s extra room there for binding. Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you enjoy this little gift and have a Merry Christmas!

Mixed Media Planner Dashboard

Hello We R friends! Aly here with you today to share a mixed media planner dashboard I made. I have to say, I’m a beginner at the mixed media thing, but with the Letterpress Starter Kit, the Evolution Advanced, and some paints from the Vicki Boutin Mixed Media collection this dashboard came together quickly and easily, and I’m excited to give it another go!

Mixed Media Letterpress Planner Dashboard by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

To create this dashboard, I used a sheet of 4.25″ x 5.5″ letterpress paper that comes with the Letterpress Kit and added some brush strokes with Vicki Boutin paints in my favorite color palette.

Vicki Boutin paints on letterpress paper

I used a 3/4 soft white mop brush and started with the darkest colors. After those dried I added the medium colors, allowing them to dry, and then the lightest colors. I finished off with some touches of white paint to add some texture.

Mixed Media Letterpress Planner Dashboard by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

Once all the paint dried I added a letterpress sentiment using one of the plates that comes in the kit. I trimmed a piece of double sided adhesive from the kit to fit my plate, and then placed it where I wanted the sentiment to be positioned on the dashboard with the adhesive side facing up. Then I lowered the top of the letterpress platform, pressed it into the plate with adhesive to stick the plate to the platform.

Mixed Media Letterpress Planner Dashboard by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

Inking the letterpress plate with the black resin ink pad that comes with the kit was easy and a lot less messy than using a tube of ink, a roller, and an ink block. Simply turn the resin ink pad upside down and pounce it on the letterpress plate until it’s fully inked. Then lower the top of the platform and roll it through the Evolution Advanced. No need for complicated combinations of platform and shims–simply turn the dial on the Evolution Advanced to the “Letterpress” setting.

Tip: be sure to leave a paint-free spot on your letterpress paper big enough for your letterpress plate as the resin ink won’t take well to paint.

Once the letterpress ink dried, I punched the insert with my Planner Punch Board + Spiral Disc Punch inserts and added it into my Heidi Swapp Time Flies Memory Planner.

DIY Snap-In Planner Dashboard

Hello, We R fans, Laura here today. I am excited to share today’s project with you, as I am sure many of you are as planner obsessed as I am. How many times have you wanted to customize something for your spiral bound planner or notebook, but had no way to punch the holes? The new planner punch board comes to the rescue to help create this DIY snap-in planner dashboard.

DIY Snap In Planner Dashboard by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I use an A5 binder style planner for my personal and work life, but I wanted to have a separate place to keep track of all of our finances. I needed a planner with monthly pages, but also ample space for notes, so I purchased an Erin Condren deluxe monthly notebook.

The monthly notebooks don’t come with tabs, so I added some with some sticky tabs I had. However, they are kind of flimsy and flipping to the current month puts a lot of strain on them. So, I wanted to create a snap-in monthly dashboard to easily find the current month.

DIY Snap In Planner Dashboard by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I started by trimming my paper to allow an extra ¾” at the top. This is the height of the tab when you create one using the tab punch board. After my paper was trimmed, I created a medium size tab at the top.

DIY Snap In Planner Dashboard by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I used some stickers from the Amy Tan On a Whim sticker book to spell out the word “MONTH”. And I added a few more hearts and a large flower to the paper.

DIY Snap In Planner Dashboard by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Next, I used my laminator to make this dashboard extra sturdy. I left a ⅜” border on the left side to have plenty of space to punch the side without punching into my paper. Once it was laminated I trimmed around the tab at the top with scissors

Using the planner punch board and the small pink spiral punch insert, I punched holes along the side of the dashboard. It easily punched through the laminate sheet.

DIY Snap In Planner Dashboard by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Now, I can easily flip to the current month. And I can write reminders on it with a wet-erase marker or even add sticky notes to it for reminders about bills, budgeting, or anything else that may come up.

DIY Snap In Planner Dashboard by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

As a planner lover, the punch board is so wonderful. I have an A5 binder, small personal size planner, this spiral bound finance book, plus a couple other little journals. Instead of needing so many different hole punches to be able to customize each one, I can have one tool that doesn’t take up very much space.
