How to Keep Your Craft Room Organized

Hello everybody! Soraya here today to talk about a very important issue: how to store supplies and keep your craft area organized! Here are 3 tips just for you to store your washi tapes, your We R Tools and your mini paper pads.

Craft Room Storage Tips by Soraya Maes-1

When it comes to creating, you need to have your supplies well stored and organized to optimize your crafty time. You will spend more time having fun than searching for the right product/color/size…So here is my first tip to store your washi tape:

  1. Place them on the wall on thin wooden shelves
  2. Sort them by color/theme or rainbow color

I made these shelves with my husband from wooden plinths we had in store, and sprayed paint them in white. I could easily store more than 300 rolls in it! And it’s also very aesthetic for the look of my scraproom.

Concerning my mini paper pads, I love to have them stored in the Card and Craft Organizer from We R Memory Keepers. It’s easier to look inside and find the right patterns! It’s very handy with its dividers.

I keep all my essential tools in little pots on this big cake stand. I love the look of it and how it’s easy to pick any tool I need when I craft. In this kind of cake stand, you can store so many products. It’s very useful and totally handy as well!

2020 Design Team: Rebecca & Soraya

Happy Hump Day! This week we’re getting to know our 2020 We R Design Team members, and today we’re highlighting Rebecca Luminarias and Soraya Maes.

Rebecca Luminarias

I live in Southern California with my husband (Arvin) and 2 young children (Augustus & Anemone). My crafting obsession is gift wrap & tags; I love to create my own, but I also enjoy seeing how others turn a plain box into a work of art. I’m an introvert who craves quiet alone time, but I also enjoy being around close friends and my family. I have a pretty active imagination which is a benefit in my creative endeavors.

I used to write a lot, using my crazy imagination to construct fictional stories, but eventually, that gave way to a new creative endeavor—being crafty!  When I began making cards 14 years ago, it was apparent that it was going to more than just a hobby, and while the process of turning it into a full-time job took some time, I’m so happy I get to do what I love every day.

One Tool, Three Ways: Planner Spread with the new Cordless Marker Airbrush

Hello We R Fans! Soraya here today to share 3 ways to use the new USB Cordless Marker Airbrush in your planner to create a fun and Christmas-y atmosphere!

One Tool, Three Ways: Planner Spread with the Cordless Marker Airbrush by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Idea 1 : add templates

Thanks to the stencil in the kit (or any stencil you already have) you can add more templates and tabs to your spread so easily! First of all, you need to cover around the other shapes on the template with papers to avoid ink splashes. Once everything is in place, you can insert the marker of your choice in the Airbrush and push it all the way in until it stops. Now you can spray your ink at about 15cm above the surface, slowly and regularly.

Repeat the process everywhere you need to add tabs on your spread.

Idea 2 : DIY stencil with the Word Punch Board

Did you know the the Word Punch Board could be used as a stencil? Well, if you need thin letters to fill your planner, you definitively need to try this.

One Tool, Three Ways: Planner Spread with the Cordless Marker Airbrush by Soraya Maes for We R Memory KeepersI used the Word Punch Board to create the days of the week. It was so easy and effortless! Just protect your surface and planner pages before using the Airbrush and voilà.

Idea 3 : create ombré colors

Prepare the word you want to color on a scrap of cardstock. Use chipboard or foam Thickers or any other porous surface. First of all, spray the darkest color from the top of the letters to the middle. Then swap the dark marker for the lightest one and start coloring from the middle to the bottom of the letters. Peel them off carefully and you have your ombré letters!

Tip: you can keep the cardstock with the negative letters to use it later on another project.

Make a Christmas Countdown House with Basic Craft Tools

Hi everyone! Soraya here today to share a merry DIY using the basic tools from We R Memory Keepers and the gorgeous DCWV Merry & Bright Christmas stack! I’m so excited to show you how I made this little house from A to Z thanks to the Supreme Ruler, the cutting knife and some white cardboard. You can find supplies for this project at Joann Stores or on their website.

This house is full of 24 little boxes I had fun to make with the 1-2-3 Punch Board! Here is how I made them : according to the chart of sizes you have on the board, I cut the papers to the right dimension before scoring them with the board. Just follow the instructions and you will see how fun and easy it is to create lots of pretty boxes!

I basically created 2 boxes of each dimension (and 4 for the first size) following the chart!

Once all the boxes were done, I placed them in a rectangle shape to see how I could fit them all in the future house. It’s like a Tetris game !

Then on a piece of paper I drew all the contours and lines that would become the “shelves” of the house ! Here is a sneak of the measures I used:

With the Supreme Ruler and the cutting knife I started cutting all the pieces I needed for making the structure of the house and the first walls. I placed them with the hot glue gun which is perfectly strong for this kind of surface.

Time to decorate! In the “Merry & Bright” stack, there are some papers where you can fussycut cute designs to make your own labels. I used the Word Punch Board to make all the numbers from 1 to 24 on a black cardstock and I love how it turned out!

How to Make Gift Wrap with The Works All In One Tool

Hello everybody! Soraya here today to share some galactic gift wrap inspiration using the new incredible board by We R Memory Keepers: The Works All-In-One Tool!

DIY Gift Wrap with The Works All In One Tool by We R Memory Keepers

To make this pretty wrapping you will need: gift wrap, ribbon, yarn, scissors and of course your All-In-One Tool!

How to Make Gift Wrap with The Works All In One Tool by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Gift idea 1: an envelope and a bow!

If you want to offer a card or a gift card along with money, you will definitely need to put them all in a cute envelope! Why not making your own? Of course it’s possible with the All-In-One Tool!

First of all,  place the magnetic guide on the board using the “envelope” tab.

How to Make Gift Wrap with The Works All In One Tool by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Cut the paper needed according to the dimensions on the measurement guide. My paper is 10×10 since I want my envelope to be 5×8.

How to Make Gift Wrap with The Works All In One Tool by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Place the paper along the edge of the guide following the right measurement instructions on the board. Score the first line, rotate 90° and repeat the process until you score the 4 sides. Then place the paper under the envelope punch to align the score mark. Punch the four marks. Now put the four corners in the corner rounder punch for a perfect finish. You get a gorgeous envelope!

Use the pegs that are stored on the left side of the board and place them in the holes at the bottom of the board. The distance between them will determine the size of the bow.

Wrap the ribbon around the pegs according to the instructions and make your bow on it. So easy and the result is perfect!!

You can now add your bow to the envelop and here is a fantastic way to offer a card!

Gift ideas 2: the pompom decor!

Place the pegs on the board and determine the pom pom size you want according to the distance in between them. Tie a knot with your yarn before wrapping it around the two pegs. The amount of wraps will determine the fullness of the pompom. Tie a piece of yarn around the center and cut all the loops on both sides.

And here is your fluffy pompom!

Gift ideas 3: a stamped banner!

Why not add a fun mini banner on your gift? Let’s do this! Grab a 3×3 paper and align it on the guide according to the measurements on it. Cut on both sides of the paper and use the banner punch to create the holes. Pass a yarn through the flags and see how cute your mini banner is!

Best Of Summer Traveler’s Note Book

Hello everybody! Soraya here today to talk about summertime and all the good memories we like to document during our vacations. Here is a tutorial for you to create your own traveler notebook using the Book Binding Guide, the Word Punch Board and other yummy We R Memory Keepers tools!

Best of Summer Traveler's Notebook by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

First of all, let’s make the structure. Cut the cover of the notebook in a patterned paper measuring 19,7 x 25 cm. Score the middle of the paper with a spine of 1cm.

BestOfSummer by Soraya Maes-2We R Memory Keepers Trim and Score Board

To make the inserts, take 8 normal paper sheets measuring 24×19,7cm and fold them in the middle. Separate them in 2 inserts of 4 sheets. Use the Trim & Score Board for an easy control.

Best of Summer Traveler's Notebook by Soraya Maes for We R Memory KeepersBest of Summer Traveler's Notebook by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Let’s bind the inserts in the TN ! Use the Book Binding tool to pierce the inserts in the middle of their spine. Then repeat the process for the cover by piercing 2 ranges of holes all along the score you previously folded.

With a pink thread and an needle, sew the inserts on the cover and tie a knot to secure the points. You have more details about the sewing style in the instruction book, but don’t worry these are very simple to make !

This TN needs a tassel ! So grab your Tassel Loom and create a beautiful pink pompom. Then use the Crop-A-Dile to place an eyelet on the top of the spine. This is by where we’ll attach the tassel.

With the Word Punch Board (I love this tool so much!) create the word « summer » on a blue paper. Place an eyelet and a white paper on the back for the constrast. Add some pretty pearls on the tassel before attaching everything through the notebook spine.

How to Embellish a Scrapbook Page

Hello We R Memory Keepers fans! Soraya here today to share fun ideas to embellish your projects using the Mini Clear Cut Punches and the Mini Precision Press!

How to embellish a scrapbook page with Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

First of all, let’s create beautiful dimensional flowers with the heart punch! I used the mini pattern swatches from Paige Taylor Evans’ Whimsical collection to make a bunch of colorful hearts. Thanks to the clear base of the punch I could easily center the heart on the tiny papers (so that I will be able to use them on another project)!  Then I folded every heart in two with a foam dot inside to keep the dimension.

On a strip of paper, I stamped several designs using my Mini Precision Press! This tool is not only super cute but it’s also very handy to stamp on small papers! So easy and so fun!
