Photo Frame Christmas Ornaments

Hello We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here to share a fun Christmas ornament idea with you using two of my favorite tools that work perfectly together–the Frame Punch Board and the Square Punch Board!

Photo Frame Ornaments by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

Ornaments with photos are my favorite ornaments. This year, I decided to make ornaments for my brother and his wife. Earlier this Fall I took photos of my nieces and nephews for their family Christmas card. I LOVE how the photos turned out and I knew they would make the perfect ornaments. I started by printing 3×3 photos of each of the kids. ( You can also trim down a 4×6 photo to 3×3.)

After the photos were printed, it was time to put my square punch board and the frame punch board to work. I used the Square Punch Board to punch perfect 3” squares. This tool makes squares and rectangles perfectly every time. When the 3” squares were punched, I simply made them into frames with the Frame Punch Board.

Using dimensional adhesive I adhered the frames on top of the photos. I wanted to keep the photos the main focus of these ornaments so I kept embellishments to a minimum. All of the embellishments and patterned papers I used are from the Fa La La collection from Crate Paper. I love the traditional feel of this collection mixed with a few modern colors of pink and teal. This collection complimented my photos perfectly!

These ornaments make the perfect gift idea! I know my brother and his family will love them for years to come. These photo ornaments would be a perfect gift idea for grandparents too! I know my parents would love to have photos of all the grand kids on their Christmas tree. They’re so easy to create they’re perfect for last minute gifts as well. I hope these Christmas ornaments have inspired you to create some of your own with the square punch board and the frame punch board. Merry Christmas!!

Emoji Letterboard Wall Decor

Hello everyone!  It’s Eva on the blog today showing you how to make a cute Letterboard sign using the new Emoji Punch Board.

Emoji Letterboard Wall Decor by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

One of the things I love most about this Punch Board is that you can create more than 19 emojis with just a few punches. The punch board is small and perfect to carry around for crops. Plus the punch board is really intuitive and you really don’t need the instruction booklet once you learn how the board works.

I used my Letterboard and some emoji faces to create a cute message for our living room.

To start this project cut some 1.5 inch x 1.5 inch papers with your Square Punch Board or use the perforated paper pad made exclusively for the Emoji Punch Board. This pad has 50 pages with nine 1.5 inch squares per pages. In total, 450 pieces in four different colors!

Square Punch Board + Emoji Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

Create the emojis following the instructions on the booklet or create some emojis yourself!

Like I told you, the board is really easy to use and with the perforated paper pad you get perfect results every time!

I wanted to decorate my emojis a bit so I added black and red cardstock to the back of my emojis.  Punch some 1 inch black circles with the punch board and use your Sticky Thumb glue to assemble your emojis.

I added a simple phrase with my Letterboard alphabets and glued the emojis with 3d dots.

This is how my Emoji Letterboard message looks on my gallery wall. I love that it is colorful and adds a pop of color to my wall! Plus it reminds me to smile all the time!

There is so much you can use your emojis for! How about a reward chart for your little ones? That would be super fun! How would you use your emojis?

Our Favorite Colors: Handmade Card Set

Hello, We R friends, Laura here today! I am sharing a fun card set I made with some of my current favorite colors – teal, blue, and pink. I think this color combination is so fun and the adorable Pink Paislee Wild Child Girl collection is perfect for this color theme.

Favorite Colors Card Set by Laura Silva 1

Favorite Colors Card Set by Laura Silva 12To make each card base I started by trimming a 12” x 12” piece of paper to 6” x 8” using the Trim & Score board. I scored the long side at 4” to easily be able to fold the card in half. This will make a card with a finished size of 4” x 6”.

We R Memory Keepers Trim and Score Board

To embellish the first card, I trimmed teal heart patterned paper from the Wild Child paper pad to fit on the card. I also trimmed a blue and a pink sheet of cardstock to 1 ¾” and then used the banner punch board to create flag shaped banner pieces.

We R Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board

I used the word punch board to spell out the word HELLO on a pretty floral paper. I used an extra piece of the blue cardstock behind the word so that the word showed up better on the card. I trimmed each end of the word with a v shape to mimic the banner pieces I already made.

We R Memory Keepers Word Punch Board

I attached the hello sentiment to the top of the banner pieces.

I started creating the second card in the same way as I did for the first. I cut a piece of patterned guitar paper to fit on the card base. Then, I used the square punch board to create three mats for this cute cool cat die cut. The square punch board makes it so easy to cut perfectly sized squares and rectangles in so many sizes.

We R Memory Keepers Square Punch Board

I added some twine around the patterned paper that reminded me a little bit of the guitar strings, and then added the guitar die cut using adhesive foam dots.

For the final card, I only used the Trim & Score board. I created the card base from teal cardstock. I added a teal and blue floral paper to the front of the card. I also added a blue cardstock strip along the bottom third of the card. I found a pink tag from the Wild Child ephemera set and added some twine to embellish the top.

Then, I attached a floral die cut using foam adhesive dots to give the card a little dimension.

I love this color combination of the teal, pink, and blue for these cards. They would be the perfect little set to give as a gift. You could even make coordinating envelopes to go with them using the envelope punch board! What is your favorite color combination?

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal

Hello We R friends! Laura here today showing you how to create a fun yearly mini envelope journal using the word punch board, mini score board, tab punch board, and square punch board. The word punch board is the perfect way to add titles and words to all your paper projects. And you can use both the punched-out strip and the punched-out letters in your projects.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I started by creating 12 mini envelopes. I used the mini score board to create envelopes that would fit a 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” paper. I trimmed my paper to 6” x 6” using the Trim & Score Board. Then, using the score guide, I scored the four lines for the envelope. You could also use the envelope punch board or mini envelope punch board for this step.

Make mini envelopes with the Mini Score Board and the 3 Way Corner Punch by We R Memory Keepers

Cut the V shape notches out of the envelope and use the 3-way corner punch to round the top and bottom corners of the envelope. Then, use adhesive to assemble the envelopes.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Fold the top of the envelope on the score line and place adhesive on the outside of the flap. Attach it to the back side of the envelope before it. Repeat these steps for all the rest of the envelopes.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

To create a cover for the mini envelope journal, I trimmed one of the sentiment cards from the cardstock stack to the same size as the envelopes. I attached it to the front using the top flap of the first envelope.

On the inside cover I created a title page with a small patterned cardstock square and the words “MY YEAR” punched out using the word punch board.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Since I wanted this to be a yearly journal, I added the months to each envelope using strips of coordinating paper and the word punch board. Since the album is so small I only did the first three letters of each month.

Yearly Mini Envelope Journal by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Word Punch Board

I wanted to be able to add a picture or journaling inside each envelope. I used the square punch board to quickly cut out twelve 3” x 3” squares from white cardstock.

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I then used the tab punch board to create tabs to easily be able to pull out the card from the envelope. Use the mini score board to score your paper scrap at 1”. Fold the paper in half and then line up the edge with the side tab guide placed. Flip the paper over, line up the edge to the small tab guide and punch again. Use the top trimmer to perfectly trim the tab.

I dumped out all the little letters from the word punch board and added the coordinating month letters to each tab. The Quickstik Tool makes it easy to pick up the little letters. Once the letters were glued on, I attached the tabs to each of the white cardstock squares.

I think it will be fun to add little mementos inside the envelopes like movie tickets, concert stubs, or even receipts to remind us of our fun adventures throughout the year. And I can add journaling or pictures to the small cardstock squares in each envelope.

3 Ways to Use the Square Punch Board

This week is all about Punch Boards, and one of our favorites is the Square Punch Board. This handy tool is perfect for planners, card layers, scrapbook pages, tags, pocketing memory keeping and other small scale projects. It’s great for bulk projects like holiday cards, invitations, gift tags, and more.

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

Simply slide the guides to the desired size square or rectangle using 1/8 inch increments between 3/4″ x 3/4″ and 3″ x 4″. Then press down to punch your paper. Move your paper over until it lines up with the guide and punch again. You can punch continuously with no waste across your entire paper!

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

The first way to use the Square Punch Board is to punch several small squares from different color patterned paper, and create a patchwork style background. You can use this technique on handmade cards, scrapbook pages, framed art, or other projects.

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

The second way to use the Square Punch Board is to create planner squares. Most planners have multiple sizes of squares and rectangles, so the Planner Punch Board is perfect for that! You only need to buy one punch instead of three or four.

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

The last way to use the Square Punch Board is to create a block or grid design scrapbook page. By combining different size patterned paper squares or rectangles, photos, and journaling blocks you can make an eye-catching yet easy layout that showcases your photos and memories perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by. We hope these ideas have inspired you to pull out your Square Punch Board and start creating. Be sure to come back each day this week for more punch board project ideas!

How to Create a Summer Themed Planner Spread

Hi We R fans! Soraya here for another summer project: let’s put some sunshine and colors in our planners with this new spread I made with some of my favorite tools!

How to Create a Summer Planner Spread by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

Do you like sprinkles? Well, if so you will love this amazing punch that allows you to create multiple sprinkles to decorate everywhere! I decided to go with a pocket sleeve that is already in my Memory Planner and fill the 3 pockets with miscellaneous colors from cardstock leftovers.

I’ve also decorated it with words from a 12×12 paper that I cut with my detail scissors. Then I  stuck them with my glue gun.

I wanted something white and fresh to contrast with the summery colors so I went with white gesso and stuck a beautiful set of leaves directly on it.

Square Punch Board Scrapbook Page

Happy Monday, We R friends! Laura here today with a squares scrapbook page that is so simple to put together with a little help from the square punch board and laser square.

Square Punch Board Scrapbook Page by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I started with the Butterflies & Flowers cardstock stack from DCWV. I chose my favorite papers from the stack and punched out twelve 2 ½” x 2 ½” squares using the square punch board.

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

The punch board makes it easy to punch out more than one square from the same sheet. You can use double-sided patterned paper and get two squares from each sheet with just a couple of punches.

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I used my paper trimmer to cut out two rectangles that were 2 ½” x 5 ½”. To line everything up on my page I used the laser square as my guide.

Laser Square by We R Memory Keepers

The detail scissors made it easy to cut out three butterflies from one of the cardstock sheets in the stack. I always like to add a little dimension to my scrapbook pages. I did this by folding up the wings and using an adhesive dot on one.

This was the perfect backdrop for our family photo from 2017. I usually take our photo when we go out into the woods in November to cut down a Christmas tree. It is fun because sometimes we have snow and sometimes, like last year, we don’t have any. We all probably could have been in shorts it was so warm the day we went!

I used the 3-way corner punch to round the corners on both the orange photo mat and the photograph. I also used the punch on some of the squares and the two rectangles I used for the background.

Corner Rounder by We R Memory Keepers

I attached the photo using adhesive dots. I added some stick-on sequin and gem embellishments to the photo.

I added more sequin and gems to different squares of the layout to tie everything together.

I love the way this layout turned out. The papers all work beautifully together. Once I had my design in mind, the square punch board made it so easy to get the squares cut out for the background. And I feel like I waste less paper using the square punch board because it cuts the square out of the corner of the page, rather than having to cut a strip off the sheet using my paper trimmer.

Baby Shower Decor

Happy Friday We R fans! Aly Dosdall here again to share some baby themed decor that I made with a few of my favorite new tools. This simple banner and cake topper set would be perfect for a baby birthday party, a baby shower, or any other baby themed event. You could also change out the words to fit any celebration or event you’re hosting. Check out what I made with my Happy Jig, Tag Punch Board, and a few other handy tools!

Baby Shower Decor by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Happy Jig and the Tag Punch Board

The pretty pastel papers I used for the tag banner are from the new DCWV Inc Okey Dokey and Journaling Stacks which you can find at JoAnn stores.

Baby Shower Decor by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Happy Jig, the Square Punch Board, the Staple Board and the Tag Punch Board

Let’s start with making the tag banner! First I made my letters with the Happy Jig tool and the gold wire that comes with the kit. You can find instructions for making all the capital letters of the alphabet (plus dozens of other cool designs) on our dedicated Instagram feed here: @werhappyjig.

After I made the letters, I measured their size to determine how large to cut my DIY tags. I used my Square Punch Board to punch out five 2 3/4 x 4 inch rectangles. If you haven’t gotten a Square Punch Board I highly recommend it. I use it all the time for punching out bulk rectangles and squares for all kinds of paper craft projects!

Then I created the tags with my Tag Punch Board, layering a 7/8 inch paper over them that I cut off of the top of a same size tag made with some coordinating paper.

Baby Shower Decor by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Happy Jig and the Tag Punch Board

Once I finished making all my letters and tags, I stapled them together with small staples using the Staple Board. I finished off my banner by adding some pink Stitch Happy Twine to the tops of the tags, and then taping them to a length of twine for hanging.

After finishing the banner, I made the word “baby” with my Happy Jig for a cake topper. I copied the letters from other words on the Instagram feed and in the included instruction booklet to get “baby”. You can totally create your own words by using the letters from other word designs and linking them together. It’s fun to play around and experiment with making your own words.

Baby Shower Decor by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Happy Jig

Here’s a close up shot of which pegs you’ll need to make the word “baby” and where you need to place them.

We R Memory Keepers Happy Jig: Baby

I left a few extra inches on both ends of the word so I could attach it to my bamboo skewers before adding it to the cake. I twisted the excess wire around the skewers, but you could tie yours with twine, use a bit of hot glue, or some mini glue dots.

Baby Shower Decor by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers featuring the Happy Jig

I love how the wire designs add some unique texture and a fun flare to my baby shower decor. I can tell I’m going to get a ton of use out of my Happy Jig!

Easter Countdown

Hello friends! Aly Dosdall here to share a fun project idea for the upcoming Easter holiday. My kids always look forward to holidays, and one of their favorite ways to celebrate them is with a countdown.

Easter Countdown by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

The Mini Envelope Punch Board is the perfect tool for making countdown-size envelopes that you can fill with fun holiday activity ideas, stickers, small treats, etc.

Easter Countdown by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

I started by selecting a pretty ombre print from the new DCWV Spring Bloom Premium Stack available at JoAnn Stores. Since the Premium Stacks are double sided, they’re perfect for this project. I followed the directions on the Mini Envelope Punch Board for making 2 1/2 inch square envelopes. For my countdown I made 9 of them.

Mini Envelope Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers and Spring Bloom DCWV Premium Stack

Once I finished making all my envelopes, I punched out nine 2 1/2 inch squares of smooth white Bazzill Basics cardstock with my Square Punch Board. I love that tool, and I swear I’ve used it more often than I expected I would!

Square Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I made a list of fun Easter activities that my kids love to do, and typed them up on the white squares with my Typecast Typwriter.

We R Memory Keepers Typecast Typewriter

The Crate Paper Magnet Studio is the perfect way to display this countdown. I added a vinyl cling border to the top of the 9×13 magnetic board, and then spelled out “EASTER” with the 3 inch gold magnetic letters.

Crate Paper Magnet Studio Easter Countdown

Using my Spring Loaded Scissors, I trimmed 1 inch long pieces of a self-adhesive magnetic strip and added them to the backs of the envelopes.

We R Memory Keepers Spring Loaded Scissors

I added the magnet-backed mini envelopes to the board and filled them with the typed Easter activity squares I made. Then I embellished and numbered each of the envelopes and the project title with stickers and die cuts from the Crate Paper Chasing Dreams collection, and Thickers from the Crate Paper Good Vibes collection.

I love how this turned out, and my girls are really excited to get started on this countdown the week before Easter!
