Mother’s Day Gift Wrap Idea

Hello there!  It’s Rebecca with you today and I’m sharing some fun gift wrap ideas for Mother’s Day.  My own mother passed away a few years ago, but there are many other women I consider and think of on this special day.  My mother-in-law inspired my project today, as she LOVES to shop and a gift card is always a good bet for her.  We usually end up taking her out shopping on Mother’s Day, as well, so, for her, the gift card becomes the conduit with which we share the holiday.

We’re just a few days away from May 12th, as well, so if you’re in a pinch for a gift, this is a quick one to create at the last minute!  I used the Pocket Maker Punchboard to create several gift card holders, and then I selected a few other We R Memory Keepers tools to make embellishments and dress them up.

The Pocket Maker makes light work of creating card holders, and you can create a pocket in loads of sizes, too!  I chose pockets with a flap so I could close them, and created them with the Easy Peasy paper stack from DCWV.  The florals in this stack made me think of moms everywhere and became the perfect outerwear for the gift cards found inside.

On almost all of the pockets, I used the Word Punchboard to create name tags, then I notched them with the Bow Guide from the 1-2-3 Punchboard.

My husband’s family is Filipino so the kids call his parents Lolo and Lola; hence this pocket is for my mother-in-law from them.  I added a pretty flower detail to the outside with the Stitch Happy Punch Needle.  I used a stencil that came in the kit for the flower design, and then used the needle to stitch it up.  This one takes a little planning–don’t assemble the pocket and add adhesive until you’ve completed your stitching!

Tassels always make presents more fun, and gift card holders are no exception!  I whipped up a few with the Tassel Loom and a matching palette of crochet thread, attaching them with some mini glittered clothespins.  Don’t forget that you can use practically any kind of trim–thread, twine, yarn, ribbon–to create tassels with this tool.  Out of my entire WRMK repertoire, it’s safe to say that the Tassel Loom is the tool I use the most often!

Another favorite for gift decorating is pom-poms!  They just scream FUN and I actually find them fun to make, too, especially with the Party Pom-Pom Maker from WRMK.  I used to wind yarn around my hand and get an incredibly uneven pom-pom that required loads of trimming.  But I can make a few of these (they’re made with the smallest maker) in a few minutes and they turn out great!

I paired the pom-poms with some grosgrain ribbon bows that I made with the Bow Loom.  This is another tool that gets a lot of use in my house, and you can use all sorts of different trims again with it, like the Tassel Loom.  I created a simple bow, then glued the pom-pom to the center of it.

If you’re giving a gift card to the wonderful women in your life on May 12th this year, maybe you’ll try one of these variations.  And if you’re giving a gift card, it might be nice to accompany your special lady when she uses it…Moms love a little extra quality time with their favorite people.

I cut those beautiful butterflies to custom one of the cards. I layered a small butterfly on the card then sewed them together with the Stitch Happy Pen. So easy and so fun ! It’s seriously one of my favorite tools!

Easter Scrapbook Page

Next weekend is Easter and of course in the days before everything revolves around this holiday. Especially with my daughter the joy rises. I have created a suitable layout. And what fits better than a nest full of Easter eggs! Except in this case it’s a garland of eggs. For this I used different tools, so every egg looks different. I like to add different effects to a layout.

Easter Scrapbook Page by Steffi Ried for We R Memory Keepers

First I used the Big Happy Jig and made an egg out of wire. I created a small template for myself and then put the pegs on the board.

Easter Scrapbook Page by Steffi Ried for We R Memory KeepersWe R Memory Keepers Big Happy Jig egg template

For the next egg I used the Fuse Tool and many colorful sequins. After a long time one of my favourite tools was used again! First I sketched a template on paper. Then I glued it on an old project life page protector and cut it generously with scissors. Then I put the sequins between the two plastic sheets and closed the egg with the Fuse Tool.

I made another egg with the help of a hand sketch.

The Stitch Happy Tool was also used again. I first sketched two eggs with a pencil. The points for the embroidery holes were made. Then I removed the lines again with an eraser. And now embroidered.

Finally the title was created with the Word Punch Board and the papers of Heidi Swapp. Thank you very much for stopping by and I wish you a nice Easter!

Pocket Page with the Stitch Happy Pen

Hello happy crafters! Soraya here today to share a pocket page tutorial using the amazing Stitch Happy Pen that allows you to add texture and dimension to your projects. You can easily sew on paper, you will love it!

Follow the instructions you can find in the Stitch Happy Pen box to properly thread it and use the long needle. When this step is done, just pierce the paper and let the magic happen!

You can use the stencils to create more shapes and words. For this card, I used the flower one, I love the dimension it gives to a simple white card! The title “GOALS” is made with the Word Punch Board and some washi tape. The Journal Guide helped me creating the tabs for the journaling.

The Fuse Tool is one of my favorite tool and I can’t make a pocket page without it! I divided the yellow paper in 2 parts and sealed some sequins in the other part of the pocket.

For the last card, I only played with diecuts and stickers. This color combo really makes me happy!

Valentine’s Day Cards with the Stitch Happy Pen

Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I’m bringing you a set of cards created with the new, super fun Stitch Happy Pen.

Valentine's Day Cards with the Stitch Happy Pen by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I have always loved hand-stitching, especially on paper; I think it adds a lovely texture and accentuates the handmade feel of your projects. I usually use a cut file as my template, or draw my own design and then pierce the holes to make it easier to stitch. With the Stitch Happy Pen Kit, you have everything you need – you get a punch needle, a magnetic frame, threaders, and six stencils to create cute embroidery designs.

Since Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I thought I would make a couple of cards using two of the stencils included in the kit. I started with the “love” sentiment. Normally, you would just mark the holes with a pencil first and then place the paper in the magnetic frame; but I found out that positioning both paper and stencil in the frame and then lightly piercing the holes before removing the stencil and starting to stitch made things a bit easier – the stencil stayed in place thanks to the magnetic frame, and the fact I had already pierced the paper required less pressure with the punch needle, avoiding any unwanted marks or creases.

I used the beautiful La La Love collection by Crate Paper for both cards.

The hand-stitched “love” sentiment is the focal point on the first card, and all the other elements just complement it by bringing in more color and texture.

For the second card, I used the flower stencil.

I used Bazzill embossed cardstock as my base. Once I finished the design, I simply backed it with more colorful patterned paper and washi tape.

I love how these cards turned out. The embroidery designs add such a beautiful touch, and with the Stitch Happy Pen it’s easier than ever.

DIY Christmas Hoops

Hello everyone! It’s Eva on the blog today sharing 3 different Christmas hoops made with a few We R Tools!

DIY Christmas Hoops by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

Before scrapbook, I used to do a lot of embroidery and have some supplies in boxes: threads, needles and of course hoops. This year I decided to use some of those hoops to create some Christmas decorations. I love to reuse things and create something beautiful with things I already have!

I created three hoops using different tools, the first one is a mini pom pom hoop. Choose some colored yarns and create small pom poms, We R has a Jumbo Pom Pom Maker and also a set of three pom poms , the smallest one is really cute and I haven’t seen that size a lot! Is perfect for embellishing mini books and small decor projects.

We R Memory Keepers Pom Pom Maker

Use your Precision Scissors to cut the yarn and trim a bit your pom pom.

We R Memory Keepers Pom Pom Maker and Precision Scissors

To glue your pom poms to the hoop use the USB Hot Glue Gun, I love that I don’t need to have and outlet nearby! I simply use my phone’s power bank!

We R Memory Keepers USB Mini Glue Gun

Finally, use the Bow Loom to create the perfect bow and decorate the top of your pom pom hoop.

For the second pom pom hoop I used my Tag Clear Punch and made 9 banners in different colors. I bend them creating a banner and then put some letters on top.

We R Memory Keepers Clear Cut Tag Punch

With the Word Punch Board you can customize your hoops and soon you will have the chance to create numbers and symbols, how cool is that?

Finally I embellished my hoop with some die cuts from Pebbles’ Christmas line Cozy & Bright.

The last hoop is my favorite! I used the Stitch Happy Pen to write a word on felt. I used my Stitch Happy white thread and it was so easy and fast! I really like how it turned out.

To give my hoop a nice and polished look; I cut the felt, glued it to the back of the hoop and also put a felt circle in the back to protect my work.

These Christmas hoops are perfect for my tree but you can also use them to decorate a wall or to give them to a friend! Which one is your favorite?

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes

Hello everyone! It’s Eva on the blog today sharing some treat bag ideas using the Pillow Box Punch Board and some of my favorite We R Tools!

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I love to give small treats to neighbors and friends and I think a pretty decorated packaging can turn a small and inexpensive gift into something really cute and festive! To create these cute boxes I used my Pillow Box Punch Board, it’s easy and you can use your favorite patterned papers.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I used some papers from the Merry Days collection by Crate Paper. Follow the instructions on the board and don’t forget to punch the notch with the Reverse Punch on the top of the board.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory KeepersDIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I made three different pillow boxes, the first one is really simple: a big bow and a sentiment and you are ready!

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

To create the bow I used the Bow Loom, simply choose the bow size, put your ribbon through the tool and tie in the middle with a small thread.

We R Memory Keepers Bow LoomWe R Memory Keepers Bow LoomWe R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

Remove the ribbon and glue a small piece of the same ribbon on top. I love that I can create double and even triple bows easily!

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

Next, I used my Word Punch Board to add a sentiment. I spelled Falala but you could also put your recipient’s name, which would be very cute! I covered the back with patterned paper to make the word stand a bit more.

We R Memory Keepers Word Punch BoardDIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

For my next pillow box I used my Stitch Happy Pen to create a sentiment with Stitch Happy Twine.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

The Stitch Happy Pen is perfect for adding small and intricate sewing into your projects, and it is so much easier and faster than hand stitching!

Thread the Stitch Happy Pen with some Stitch Happy Twine and write your sentiment on white cardstock. Don’t make it too small or your paper might tear while you are stitching.

We R Memory Keepers Stitch Happy PenWe R Memory Keepers Stitch Happy Pen

Tip: slowly stitch your word making sure you use the tool perpendicular to the cardstock and that the thread always points backwards towards your previous stitch.

Secure the loops with the backing sticker and cut your sentiment.  I also used some twine and a few die cuts to embellish my box.

DIY Christmas Pillow Boxes by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

I decorated the last pillow box with some hanging embellishments. Really easy and fun!

First, use the Tassel Loom and the Stitch Happy Twine to create a small tassel, with this tool you will have perfectly even and cute tassels every time! Embellish your tassel with some Stitch Happy Gold thread and even the edges.

We R Memory Keepers Tassel LoomWe R Memory Keepers Tassel Loom

Next, use your Happy Jig create a small tree with gold wire (you can find the design on the Happy Jig Instruction Booklet that comes with the tool).

We R Memory Keepers Happy JigWe R Memory Keepers Happy Jig

I couldn’t resist to this vellum paper from the Merry Days collection and cut a little piece with my Dial Trimmer and the waved blade.

We R Memory Keepers Dial Trimmer

Finally I made a small bow with the Stitch Happy Gold thread and my Bow Loom. Wrap the thread a few times and you will have a subtle embellishment.

We R Memory Keepers Bow Loom

And what did I put inside these cute boxes? Since I was a little girl I always loved candied almonds and recently I found a big pack with cute pastel colors! I think they would be perfect for my neighbors’ gifts this year!

Do you make small treat boxes for your friends? Hopefully you can use some of these ideas to create a fun and yummy treat this year!
