DIY Halloween Treat Boxes

Hello, crafty friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing a spooky (not so much) Halloween treat packaging idea created with several We R Memory Keepers tools.

You might know by now how much I love tags; I use them on almost all of my projects, so I thought it would be fun to make “loaded” ones to give as party favors or just as a treat on Halloween day.

DIY Halloween Treat Boxes by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I started by trimming the tags to measure 4×8 inches. I used two sheets of patterned paper and one of white heavy weight cardstock, which I sandwiched in the middle to make the tags sturdy and durable. With the Tag Punch Board I cut the corners of all three before adhering them together.

We R Memory Keepers Tag Punch BoardWe R Memory Keepers Tag Punch Board

To make the box, the paper needs to measure 8×6 inches. With the help of the Mini Score Board, I creased it vertically at 1 and 2 inches, and horizontally at 4 and 5 inches, like in the photos below.

We R Memory Keepers Mini Score BoardWe R Memory Keepers Mini Score Board

Next, I cut the two bottom squares formed by the creases on both sides of the paper, and again just in between the ones above. I applied strong double-sided adhesive to assemble the box, and adhere it to the front of the tag.

At this point it was just a matter of decorating the boxes and make them “spooky”. The first thing I did was create wire words with the Happy Jig. I love this tool so much!!! I can’t stop creating with it! It is perfect to personalize your projects. I used the copper wire to spell “Boo” (I have a black one in the photo below to show the design better) and the black one to spell “Spooky”.

I arranged several chipboard stickers and die cuts from the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection to form clusters on the front of the loaded tags, and finished them with a double bow I made using the 1-2-3 Punch Board.

Enza’s Top 3 Favorite Tools

Hello, We R fans. Enza here, and today I’m sharing three of my favorite tools. Let me start by saying it is impossible not to love every single one of them, as they are all useful, fun and easy to work with. Anything that can help me speed up the process while still giving me amazing results is a winner in my book. Plus, I’m often inspired by the variety and versatility of We R Memory Keepers tools.

The first tool I can’t live without is the 123 Punch Board. One of my passions is gift wrapping and pretty packaging, and lately I have discovered a love for card making, so this tool is perfect to create a variety of projects. You can make different type of boxes, bows, envelopes, envelope liners, and even file folder cards. I think every crafter needs this in their stash. All the instructions are already on the board, and you also get an Idea Book with step-by-step instructions that is really helpful. Super duper easy to use!

Here is an example of a String Tie Box I created with it:

My second favorite is a tool that I use for almost every project, and another essential in my stash. The Tag Punch Board is fun and very versatile; it is perfect to create gift tags, tag mini albums, layering elements for cards and scrapbook layouts, and more. What I love the most about this tool is that you can make tags in different sizes, up to 3.5” wide, and that it punches perfectly centered holes every time. To complete the look of my tags, I also use the Hole Reinforcer Punch, but that is just a preference.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Happy Jig. Such a clever idea! You can make unique and custom embellishments for scrapbook pages, cards, even home décor. It comes with wires in different colors, and the super helpful Instruction book, with step-by-step instructions for bending wire into letters, shapes, and words. Your imagination is the limit with this tool. I also love that you can store the pegs and the wire cutters in the base of the tool for easy organization.

Back to School Teacher Gift Idea

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here with a teacher gift that is sure to leave everyone with smiles! Quick, easy, and thoughtful is the best kind of teacher gift you can make. Follow this fun idea and not only will it meet all those criteria, but the tools from We R Memory Keepers will make it fully customized, adding an extra-special finishing touch!

Back to School Teacher Gift Idea by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

This gift has a few parts to it, but my favorite is the smiley face emoji sticky-note pad! Yes, those smiling faces, while finishing the tag sentiment by saying, “All SMILES because you’re my teacher,” are also sticky notes! What teacher wouldn’t love to have those cute supplies on their desk?! I know this former teacher thinks they are fantastic!

Back to School Teacher Gift Idea by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

One tip to start, be sure and get the sticky notes that are completely backed in adhesive, not just on the top edge. This will make your notes stay together better.

Back to School Teacher Gift Idea by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory KeepersEmoji Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I trimmed my sticky note paper down to the size for the Emoji Punch Board, which is 1.5” square. Then I proceeded to punch out the smiley face version. I love that they are so many faces to be made, but this worked for today’s project best. Stacking 3 notes together worked well while punching, more pieces of paper than that was too thick. As I finished punching each stack, I layered them together. Seriously fun and easy. This would be a great way to get your kiddo involved in crafting as well!

Back to School Teacher Gift Idea by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To create a tag for the sticky notes, I used the Tag Punch Board to layer two cardstock tags together. On each of the tags, I stamped the sentiment using the Precision Press Advanced. Arranging the stamps on the press made it so that the sentiment could be stamped precisely on each tag, and if a mistake was made, another tag could be created easily. Not that I would know anything about that…

Accents of patterned paper from the DCWV Sweet and Sassy pad were added for color and fun.

To personalize each jar, I punched a strip of patterned paper with the Word Punch Board. Adding each teacher’s name like this was not only easy, but it will help my kiddo remember whom to bring the gifts to as well. It also puts a name to the face of the person he must look at if he eats all the candy.

DIY Gift Wrap with the Word Punch Board

Hello We R fans! Kimberly stopping by today to share some customized gift wrap. Nothing like taking some pre-made supplies and adding that special touch, the handmade touch.

DIY Gift Wrap with the Word Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

Using the new We R Memory Keepers Word Punch Board I took basic wrapping paper and a gift bag and turned them into a gift that they might not want to open. For a minute anyway.

DIY Gift Wrap with the Word Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To customize the gift bag, I added the punched words “happy birthday.” Being able to add any words to a bag gives it so much more mileage. I don’t know about you, but I have a collection of gift bags at home and this way, I can use them for any occasion.

DIY Gift Wrap with the Word Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To start, I placed the letters for “birthday” in the punch board. Then, leaving the paper in its 12×12 form, I pushed the handle (or lid) down, punching the letters all at once. I punched right in the middle of the paper, so I could add notched ends for a cute touch. Then I put the paper into my Trim & Score Board and cut it into a strip.

I repeated the same process for the word “happy.” The Word Punch Board comes with all 26 letters, and no duplicates. So, I created my word, starting with the “h.” To help me keep things evenly spaced apart, I put a random letter in place of the second “p” and placed the “y.” Before punching, I took out the extra letter. After the first punch, I moved the “p” one space over and punched again. The edge of the Word Punch Board has a wonderful spot to keep your paper lined up, making it easy to keep everything straight.

DIY Gift Wrap with the Word Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

For the wrapped gift, I wanted to create a ribbon of sorts. This time I punched the word “birthday” repeatedly across strips of white cardstock. What a fun way to customize a gift. It would be fun to use a person’s name even.

DIY Gift Wrap with the Word Punch Board by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

Making these word strips took barely any time at all because the only thing that needs to be moved is the paper. I was thinking that making word strips like this could make for a fun card background as well.

To finish things off, I made a tag using the Tag Punch Board. Then added the recipient’s name on another strip of paper. Wrapping Christmas presents like this is going to be fun!

Travel Layout with the Happy Jig

Happy Independence Day to our US friends. We’ve got a little housekeeping to take care of today. We’re sad to say goodbye to team member Nancy Damiano, and we wish her the very best. Please welcome our new team member, Enza Gudor!

Hello, crafty friends! Enza here and I’m thrilled to share my very first post on the We R Memory Keepers blog! This is a dream come true for me. I have always loved the fun and versatile tools they come up with, and am looking forward to sharing more of my projects with you.

Today I have a travel layout featuring the amazing Happy Jig. This tool is a must-have! You can make any design or shape with it, and it sure gives your scrapbook pages a unique and fun look.

Travel Layout with the Happy Jig by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

I knew I wanted a big title for my page, so I started by creating my own custom words. I took inspiration from some of the letters in the instruction booklet that comes with the tool, as well as the We R Happy Jig Instagram account. Once you figure out how it works, it is pretty easy to make any shape you can think of. The wire is flexible and easy to work with, and all the different colors are perfect to personalize your projects. It’s also nice that you can vary the size of the letters, allowing for lots of options.

Happy Jig by We R Memory Keepers

I picked blue and pink wire for this page. I actually made the words before even choosing a collection to work with. I was that excited to use my new toy!

Travel Layout with the Happy Jig by Enza Gudor for We R Memory Keepers

To keep the words in place, I just hand-stitched them with embroidery thread. I have tried other options, but this worked best for me.

The other tool I used for this layout is the Tag Punch Board – another essential if you ask me. I love adding tags to my projects whenever I can, and this makes it super easy and fast.

Here I used the tags as layering elements behind my photos.

Father’s Day Mini Book

Hello friends, Laura here this Monday with a Father’s Day gift idea for the special dad in your life. I created a little mini accordion banner book that says, “I ♥ DAD” when opened. There are a few places to add photos to make the gift personalized for your dad.

Father's Day Mini Book by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I started by created ten banner shapes using my paper trimmer and banner punch board. I cut each rectangle to 4 ½” x 6 inches using the Trim & Score board. I chose various shades of blue paper from the DCWV Nautical Mile cardstock stack.

We R Memory Keepers Trim and Score Board

I lined up one edge of the longer side of the paper with the 4-inch mark on the banner punch board. This will create a somewhat uneven banner because there will be an extra half inch on the left side of the banner shape.

We R Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board

Use the Trim & Score board to score each banner shape at ½” on the left side of the banner shape. This will be the flap we use to connect all the banner pieces together.

We R Memory Keepers Trim and Score Board

Next, I used the mini alphabet punch board to create the letters I, D, A, and D.

We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board

I created a striped heart with the Clear Cut heart punch.

Father's Day Mini Book by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I wanted to make little tags to place each of the letters and heart onto. The tag punch board made this easy. I cut rectangles that were 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches using my Trim & Score board. Then, I used the tag punch board to create the tag edges and punch a hole in the top.

Tag Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers

I added a red eyelet to the top of each tag using my Crop-A-Dile.

We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile

Now that I had all the pieces cut out, it was time to assemble the book. Use adhesive to attach each letter and the heart to a tag shape. Then, attach each tag to a separate banner piece. To assemble all the banner pieces together, use adhesive to attach the flap of one banner to another one. Leave a blank banner between the letters and the heart on either side.

Father's Day Mini Book by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

There will be a slight overlap where you glue the banner pieces together. Simply trim off the excess paper using your scissors.

Father's Day Mini Book by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

To create a more finished book, I glued the first and last banner piece to the back side of the banner piece next to it, so there was a total of ten banner pieces, but only eight banner pieces show when the book is spread out. I also added a little ribbon into the pieces I glued together on the front and back, so I could tie the book together on the left side when it was closed.

Father's Day Mini Book by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Once everything is glued together you can fold the banner pieces like an accordion to close the book.

The book was cute as is, but I thought it would be fun to add pictures of the kids to the inside. I resized black and white photos of the kids to 3 x 4 inches. I printed them on my home computer, trimmed them down and added them to the blank pages. On the front cover I matted the picture on an extra piece of patterned paper that matched the letters inside.

Father's Day Mini Book by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

There is room to add two more pictures on the last two pages of the book, so you could add up to a total of five photos.

Father's Day Mini Book by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

Dad can flip through the album with it tied together, or you can spread it out like a traditional banner if you untie the ribbon.

The We R Tag Punch Board is the best tool for creating tags of all sizes. A few simple adjustments and you have the perfectly cut tag and hole punch to boot. Tags are a great way to anchor smaller embellishments on a card.

Summer Scrapbook Page

Hey there, We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, I’m Becki Adams here to share a layout with you that I created with a few of my favorite We R Memory Keepers tools. There are some tools that I always keep near my desk at my fingertips. The laser square is one tool that is always on my desk. My husband will tell you that I can’t measure or put items in a straight line to save my life. That’s why I love the Laser Square so much! It makes measuring and alignment a breeze.

Summer Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

One of my favorite “go to” designs is a grid. I love the clean simple lines of a grid layout.

On this “Summer in Central Park” layout I used four 4×3 photos in an offset grid design. The photos are in a straight line, but they are slightly of set from the other column. The Laser Square made it so easy to make sure that my photos were in a straight line especially on a solid background.

Summer Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

Another tool that I love and keep near my desk at all times is my Stitch Happy Sewing machine. I love the added detail that machine stitching gives my layouts. Thread/stitching is also a great “adhesive.” Once something is stitched onto a layout, there’s no worries of it falling off the layout after a long period of time. A layout that has machine stitching will always stay together.

Ever since I started scrapbooking years (and years) ago, I loved using tags. At first, I always purchased shipping tags at my local office supply store. Now that the Tag Punch Board is in my office, I’ve been making custom tags for all of my projects.

Summer Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

On this layout I made a custom tag for the title. It was fun to make the tag just the right size for the letter stickers. Of course, I didn’t forget the custom hole reinforcer that I punched out with my We R Memory Keepers Hole Reinforcer punch.

Graduation Scrapbook Page

Hey there, We R Memory Keepers friends and fans, Becki here to share with you a scrapbook page that I created with a few of my favorite tools. I’ve always been a memory keeper at heart. I LOVE photos and love pairing them with memories even more. I’m a traditional scrapbooker who loves lots of photos and lots of journaling. I gravitate toward tools that make creating even easier and more fun. I used a lot of We R Memory Keeper tools to create this layout.

It’s the season for graduation and with graduations comes a TON of photos. A couple of years ago my last little man graduated from Kindergarten. Of course, I was a teary mess as my little man, sang with is class, and received his diploma. My husband and I took turns taking photos. We have a few great photos of the day. I used three of these photos on this layout. I knew I wanted these three photos on the same layout (on a grid design) and I had quite a bit of journaling with each photo.

Graduation Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

Each photo is 3 ½ x 5” printed in black and white. The photos are printed in black and white because, well, the ceremony was in the school’s gym and the lighting was awful.  I laid the photos on a grid design using my Laser Square to line everything up. Once I had the placement of my photos figured out, I adhered the photos using strong double-sided tape along 3 sides of the photo. I left one side of the photo without adhesive so that I could slide a tag behind each photo for hidden journaling.

Graduation Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

The three tags that slide behind each photo are created with the tag punch board and the hole reinforcer punch. Tags are one of my favorite embellishments and I LOVE tucking them behind photos with additional photos and journaling. The tags are perfect for adding typed journaling which I did after I took the photos as there was personal information on them.

Graduation Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

The stars that are scattered throughout the layout are fussy cut with the new spring scissors. These are my new favorite scissors for fussy cutting. Fussy cutting is one of my favorite techniques. I’m thrilled to have a new favorite pair of scissors for all of my fussy cutting needs.

Graduation Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

To finish the layout and make sure that everything stays in place, I added a few lines of stitching with my Stitch Happy sewing machine. I love that machine! My favorite feature of this machine is that it stitched with thicker (embroidery type) thread.

Graduation Scrapbook Page by Becki Adams for We R Memory Keepers

I couldn’t be happier with how this Kindergarten graduation layout came together. This day has so many precious memories for our family and I’m so happy to have them documented. I could have created this layout without my favorite We R Memory Keepers tools, but it wouldn’t have been as easy or as enjoyable. Don’t we all have our favorite tools that we love using and that makes crafting a little more fun? I’d love to know, what are your favorite crafting tools? Let me know in the comments below.

Memory Planner Scrapbook Page

Happy Friday friends! It’s Aly here with you again, and I’m really excited to share a special Memory Planner spread with you for National Scrapbook Day. Most of my memory keeping these days either happens in my planner, a traveler’s notebook, or a pocket style album. My daughter and I recently took a trip to Boston and New York City, so I recorded some memories on the April spread in my Heidi Swapp monthly planner.

Memory Planner Scrapbook Page by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

I love scrapbooking on a smaller scale in my planner where I’m recording details about my life anyway. It just makes sense with my busy schedule, and saves me time while still allowing me to capture important memories.

Memory Planner Scrapbook Page by Aly Dosdall for We R Memory Keepers

I used the new DCWV Journaling Premium Stack and the Okey Dokey Stack to embellish my planner spread. The Journaling Stack is full of labels, cards, tags, and other goodies you can punch out and use for journaling in or embellishing your planner.

Heatwave Pen by We R Memory Keepers

I used my Heatwave Pen, some gold foil, and a Heatwave Template to add some gold metallic handwriting to the left side of the planner spread. I love the sparkle it adds!

Next I created a DIY accent tag with my Tag Punch Board as a layer in a cluster of embellishments. I love that I can customize the size and shape of my tag with this awesome punch board!

I was able to add plenty of journaling about our trip by typing it onto some cards from the Journaling Stack, and including the cards in an envelope I made with the Mini Envelope Punch Board.
