Beach Party Invitations

Hello, We R friends, Laura here today with a fun invitation idea for your next beach or pool party. Sandy beaches and big waves make me think of going to the beach to celebrate. Recreate the beach with textured cardstock and some We R tools and you will have these Beach Party Invitations created in a snap!

Start by trimming the sand colored cardstock to 4” x 6” with the trim & score board.

Use the wave tear guide tool to create waves on light and dark teal blue cardstock. I used the large size waves for the dark teal cardstock and the small size wave for the lighter cardstock.

If you are having trouble tearing your paper you can use the water pen that comes with the tear guides to make it easier to tear.

Cut the wave papers to 4” wide and varying heights to look like layered waves on the paper. Attach them to the sand colored cardstock with adhesive.

Use the circle clear cut punch to cut out a circle sun from yellow cardstock. Attach to the corner of the paper and then trim the excess so it is flush with the edges.

Use the word punch board to spell out the word BEACH from a colorful patterned paper. This striped paper is from the DCWV Playful Icons stack. Trim the strip to 5/8” tall using the trim & score board.

Then, use the word punch board to spell out the letters PARTY. This time I glued the individual letters rather than the paper strip to the invitation. Punch your paper and then open the bottom of the punch board to get the letters out.

I found it easiest to simply rub the back of the letters over a glue stick and then place them on the paper than trying to mess with liquid glue for these tiny letters.

If you are having trouble picking up the letters, the Quickstik craft tool helps to grab them from the bottom of the word punch tray.

You can then write or print out the party details and attach it to the back of the invitation. Slip it in an envelope and it is ready for mailing out to your beach party guests. This theme would be cute for a pool party invitation as well. Simply change the word BEACH to POOL.

Since it takes a little bit of time to glue the individual letters onto the invitations, if you had a lot of invitations to make, I would use two strips for the words – one for BEACH and one for PARTY rather than gluing each individual letter.

DIY Paper Crown for Kids

Hello everyone!  It’s Eva here today bringing you a fun and easy Paper Crown you can make with your kids.

Easy Paper Crown with the Banner Punch Board by Eva Pizarro for We R Memory Keepers

My 3 year old, Lorenzo, told me a few days ago he wanted a crown so I thought this assignment would be perfect  to craft with him and make a fun and easy king crown. I tried to do everything with him and he was happy to help, cut and use all the tools he isn’t allowed to use on a regular basis!

I used my Trim and Score Board to cut two 6×12 inch yellow cardstock strips . I put the paper on and he used the cut blade. I also made a mark on both strips at 4 inch height.

Trim and Score Board by We R Memory Keepers

I placed my strips on the Banner Punch Board at the 6 inch mark and my son used the blade to cut from the 4 inch mark to the top. The blades are tiny but sharp so never leave you kid unattended!

We also used the Cool Kids stack from DCWV and the Tear Guides to create a decor for the base of the crown.  I held the Tear Guide in place and my son used the water pencil, he loved using this tool!

Tear Guides by We R Memory Keepers

I asked him what shape he wanted on his crown and he chose this hexagon because it looked  like a jewel.  We used the Clear Cut Punch together and cut 7 hexagons from this lovely  Holiday Jewels Stack from DCWV.

We also used the pompom maker to make a lilac pompom for the top of the crown, he had fun rolling the yarn in the tool and I cut and assemble the pompom afterwards.

We attached the hexagons with foam dots and to embellish them we used buttons. To embellish the other tips of the crown we punched several circles with the Reinforce Hole Punch.

Finally I attached everything with the new USB Glue Gun, the detail tip was perfect to attach those tiny circles on top of the crown.

I measured my son’s head and assembled the crown with my USB Glue Gun.

He was so happy and could not wait to try it! He is definitely the King of the House!

Palm Beach Scrapbook Page

Hello We R Fans! Its summer and time to take those vacations to the beach. And then when it gets too hot outside, you can head into the air conditioning and work on making layouts. We R Memory Keepers has some great tools to add some beach-y finishing touches to your next layout.

Palm Beach Scrapbook Page by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

The DCWV Nautical paper pack was the perfect fit for my beach photos. The soft blues and tans, with a pop of red was the perfect color palette.

Palm Beach Scrapbook Page by Kimberly Crawford for We R Memory Keepers

To make the papers pop and to add texture to my layout, I started by creating some waves using the We R Memory Keepers Tear Guides. The large wave guide was perfect. I placed the paper underneath the guide, applied water with the brush included in the set, and tore my paper easily. This paper pack is thinner in weight, so I found that I could tear it without the water. I love the bit of distressing the tearing adds. It’s like white caps on the waves.

The layering of the papers also gave me a great place to tuck a photo and a decorative journaling card.

To add the effect of sand, I used the We R Memory Keepers Marker Airbrush. A brown marker, with the cap removed, was slid into the holder. The marker is secured in place with a small screw that you twist tight when the marker is in place. The end of the Airbrush is a bulb that is squeezed. When the bulb is released, air passes over the marker tip and leaves color behind on the paper. I found that a marker with a brush tip brought a nice amount of color. Not only did it add to the feel of sand being everywhere, but it also added more texture. A favorite element of mine to add to any paper crafting project.

To create the largest part of my layout, I used the We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board. Perfect for making titles. To add more dimension to the letters, they were adhered down with foam squares.

Holiday Gift Idea: Christmas Frame with the Basic Tools

Hello We R Memory Keepers fans! Soraya here to share with you a holiday gift idea using the basic tools: the Layer Guides, the Tear Guides and the Circle Clear Cut Punch! Let’s make this pretty frame with Christmas ornaments!

Holiday Gift Frame by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

First of all I used the Tear Guides to create different borders on several patterned papers. Then I placed them on a piece of cardstock to make a colorful waterfall! This tool is so easy and fun to use! The water pen is very handy and useful to tear the paper out.

Time to use the amazing Circle Clear Cut Punch to create the future ornaments! I punched seven circles.

Now using my Layer Guides, I created two big frames (white and pink) to finalize this decor!

To give a realistic look to my ornaments, I glued some false snowballs in each of them! Love how it turned, it really feels like the holidays! I used some black thread to “hang” them, then I passed it through the hole of the white cardstock.

Holiday Card with the Tear Guides

Happy Tuesday, We R fans, Laura here today! I am excited to be sharing this fun Christmas tree card you can make easily with the Tear Guides that are part of the new Basic Tools that have recently been released.

Tear Guide Christmas Tree Card by Laura Silva for We R Memory Keepers

I started by choosing some papers from the DCWV All About Christmas Stack. I love using papers from a paper pad because it is effortless to create a cohesive project that looks wonderful.

I alternated between the two sides of the zigzag tear guide, tearing some of the papers with the large zigzag and some with the small zigzag. Lay the tear guide on your paper, and then pull the paper at a 45 degree angle to the guide.

Go slow, and if you are using paper that is hard to tear, you can use the special water pen that comes with the guides. I found when tearing using the small side, it helped to have a little more paper to grab to get a cleaner edge.

Once I had torn each of the papers I wanted to use, I trimmed them all to about 1 ½ inch by 5 inch strips using my paper trimmer. I attached the torn layers using my Sticky Thumb adhesive.

Then, I used my paper trimmer to create a triangle shape with the attached strips of paper. This created my Christmas tree.

I used a coordinating paper to create a card base for my tree. I attached the tree to the card base using adhesive foam dots.

Since the patterned paper is only one sided, the inside of my card was white and blank. I used one of the sentiments I found in the paper pack and cut it out. I adhered it to one of the patterned papers I used for the tree on the front.

Then, using the ½” layer guide, I trimmed the patterned paper to create a perfect ½ inch border around the sentiment card. I repeated this process with a second sheet of patterned paper. Then, I attached the whole thing inside the card.

The tear guides make it easy to add some texture to your designs. There are three different guides that come in the pack – zigzag, wave, and deckle. These are so fun to use to add some dimension to your project.

Thanksgiving Garland

Hello crafty people! Soraya here to share with you some garland inspiration for your Thanksgiving celebration using two of the new We R Memory Keepers releases: the Square Punch Board and the Tear Guides! Those tools are fantastic, you will love them!

Thanksgiving Banner by Soraya Maes for We R Memory Keepers

To make this banner, I chose a seasonal color combo: orange, green and kraft! First of all, I used the Mini Alphabet Punch Board to create the word THANKFUL. Each letter has to be made from a 1.5 x 2.5 inch rectangle so I moved the guides to the right dimensions on the Square Punch board and made all my little cards like this! So easy!

Now that the letters are done, let’s go ahead and make the garland! I wanted to add some texture like lace and burlap. I also wanted to create lots of fringe: the Tear Guides were perfect for this! Thanks to the water pen I could easily moisten the cardstock before tearing it. This is how I was able to create the fringe.

Let’s assemble the banner now! First, fold all the stripes in two and use the crop-a-dile to make a hole on the top of them.

Then, make other stripes with lace and burlap and repeat the hole process before passing them all on a twine:

Time to decorate! I used the gorgeous and oh so cute diecuts from the fall collection by our sister brand, Pebbles.
