Thankful Mini Album

Hello there We R fans, Wendy Antenucci here today sharing a mini book I created.  I have always wanted to take the time to do a 30 day of Thankfulness book with my kids, thanks to the Cinch this year we will be documenting what we are thankful for.

Thankful Mini Album by Wendy Antenucci for We R Memory Keepers

I knew for this project I wanted somewhere to write our thanks and I also wanted to include pictures of different items/people that we are thankful for.  I also knew since my kids were going to be helping that it needed to be a simple concept for all ages.  I began by choosing two 4×6 sentiment cards from the Wildflower collection and the High Five collection that best shared the vision of this book.

To share some written thoughts I chose to cut down the Typecast notepad to a 4×4 size.  On each note paper piece I included a sticker from the Wildflower collection to add some color and interest.  I also included a few 3×4 sentiment cards that would help focus our thanks for that day.

I used the 4×4 waterfall photo sleeves for my pictures; by turning the photo sleeve I was able to cinch the longer end into my book allowing photos to be added in easily as we progress through the book.

Designer tip: To keep a mini album do able for a family, keep it simple!  Add in a few stickers for interest/color, but keep most items flat so that the album is more durable for little hands.

Our little book is ready, so we are ready to focus on being Thankful together as a family!  Did you assemble a gratitude book this year?  Have you made a fun mini album lately?  Don’t forget to share what you create on the We R Memory Keepers FB, we’d love to see!

Wildflower Card Set

Hello again WeR fans! As Summer draws nearer for us in the southern hemisphere, so too do the birthday parties it seems! I’ve restocked my card supply using some pretty bits and pieces and a couple of tools, which you might already have in your stash.

cards_1

The beauty of these cards is that they don’t take forever to put together (although, I do find it quite difficult to narrow down ideas and just make a start with cards sometimes, hehe.)

cards_2

Let’s take a closer look at each of them…

Most of these cards use coloured card from a 12×12 DIY Party cardstock pad. This one has a gorgeous aqua base and over the top I’ve popped a bit of some Indian Summer, which I have been hoarding for a while!

I’ve cut some feather shapes using my Evolution Advanced with a WRMK metal feather die. Other embellishments are some Wildflower cardstock stickers. TIP: Get more from larger sticker shapes by cutting them in half to use on another project.

cards_3

cards_4

This one has some embossed vellum and ribbon detail. I’ve placed the embossing folder a little way down the vellum sheet to create a bit of contrast in the textures. It’s finished off with some hand cut butterflies from a sheet of Wildflower ‘Butterfly Garden’ and a Clearly Posh die cut shape for the title.

cards_5

TIP: I’ve applied my adhesive in tiny dots under the embossed pattern in the vellum so that it’s too visible.

cards_6

This shaker card uses a 4×6 waterfall sleeve and some DIY Party confetti which have been sealed with my Fuse Tool. I’ve popped some lettering on the top for my title which I created using my Mini Alphabet Punch Board.

cards_7

cards_8

Card number four is a breeze to put together: some embossed cardstock, a hand cut bloom and a simple phrase. Create your own if you have a typewriter!

cards_9

I’ve gone over areas with a glitter brush pen for a bit of sparkle.

cards_10

This thank you card has some simple paper layering using Love Notes ‘Valentine’ and Crush ‘Love Defined’. I’ve added some foil detail with my Heatwave tool and a stencil. Tiny floral detail comes in the form of some new font punches.

cards_11

Click here for a quick look at this fun tool in action.

cards_12

Finally, this card makes use of some dry and heat embossing. The title uses a ‘Happy Birthday’ Classic Phrase embossing strip, which has been run through my Evolution Advanced. These little embossing strips are fabulous for cards and come with guides printed on the folder so you know your pattern is going to be perfectly aligned.

cards_13

I then clear heat embossed the wording so it would stand out a bit more. TIP:  I used a Versamark pen to ensure the coverage was accurate.

cards_14

The white Ruler Studio frame I used on the card has been stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I really like the way this turned out. It gives it a vintage twist, which coordinates so well with those beautiful Wildflower illustrations.

cards_15

Really make an impact by pairing your cards with custom Envelope Punch Board envelopes too!

cards_16

Thanks so much for joining me today. Happy card making!

Chantalle

Template Studio Wedding Gift Bag

Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here today to share a beautiful wedding gift bag, that is handmade, using the Template Studio. Yes, that bag is handmade! I am so excited about how this project turned out! And I cannot wait to create more custom gift bags because it was so simple to do!

love gift bag Kimberly Crawford

After laying out the cutting mat on my table, I followed the direction cards included in the Template Studio Starter Kit. The directions and measurements for several different projects are kept on a loose-leaf ring for easy use while working.

love gift bag 2 Kimberly Crawford

The template guides have pegs on the end, that fit into the cutting mat surface, keeping the guides perfectly in place while cutting and scoring. I love how the cutting and scoring blades have small peg that fit into the rail of the guides. After following the directions and measurements for cutting and scoring, my bag was complete!

love gift bag 3 Kimberly Crawford

To add a special touch, I added handles to my wedding gift bag.

love gift bag 4 Kimberly Crawford

I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch two holes on each side of the bag. About 15” of ribbon was cut and fed through one hole. A knot was tied to the end and the excess ribbon was trimmed away. I repeated the same process by feeding the other end of the ribbon through the second hole and knotting it. To feed the ribbon more easily through the opening, I cut it at an angle.

love gift bag 5 Kimberly Crawford

These last two additions to my gift bag really made it special. The flower embellishment is from the Wildflower Collection and it has a touch of gold foiling on it. The chipboard gold word “love,” also from the Wildflower Collection, was placed over the top. It looks like a gift bag I bought at a boutique, but I made it!

It was a ton of fun to create my own custom wedding gift bag with the Template Studio! What special event do you have coming up that needs a special gift bag?

Father’s Day Gift Wrap

Hello, friends! Tessa Buys here with a project that you and the kids can put together in no time for Father’s Day:

WRMK Father's Day Gift Wrap Tessa Buys 1

First, I went shopping for the treats. As I was filling the shopping cart. I realized I had a color palette going and I stuck with it – blue, yellow, a little bit of red and silver. I also picked up a blue tub to hold everything.

WRMK Father's Day Gift Wrap Tessa Buys 2

Because my husband’s favorite color is green, I added that to the mix. I took green and silver fringe tape from the DIY Party collection and wrapped the tub. I also wrapped the neck of the root beer bottle.

WRMK Father's Day Gift Wrap Tessa Buys 3

Using patterns from the Wildflower and Flower Girl collections that coordinated with my treats, I made a banner. I tied the banner to skewers and then taped the skewers to the inside of the tub. I also added some silver stars to skewers and tucked them in between the treats.

Using more of the patterned paper and fringe tape, I created a prize ribbon and attached it to the front of the tub. Everything is taped in place so that when we’re done celebrating, we can save the decorations and use the tub for another purpose.

WRMK Father's Day Gift Wrap Tessa Buys 5

All in all, decorating the tub took about as long as going to the grocery store to grab the treats. It’s an easy and festive project, thanks to We R Memory Keepers! Enjoy creating (and enjoy those dads!).

Wildflower Wedding Layout

Hello, friends! Tessa Buys here. Weddings are one of my favorite topics to scrapbook, and We R Memory Keeper’s Wildflower collection made this page of my sister’s wedding even more fun to create:

WRMK wedding layout Tessa Buys 1

The Wildflower collection was a perfect fit for a photo filled with so many different flowers and colors. I was instantly drawn to the butterflies and decided to fussy-cut several as embellishments.

WRMK wedding layout Tessa Buys 3

For some added glamour, I used a Clearly Posh acetate sheet with gold foil dots as my background. In order to attach the acetate sheet to the white cardstock base, as well as the butterflies to the page, I used the new Staple Board.

WRMK wedding layout Tessa Buys 4

I loaded the small stapler with the copper-colored staples and began lining up the Staple Board with the center of each butterfly. With a little practice at lining everything up, it was a breeze to secure everything where I wanted it, no matter how far from the edge it was. I also placed some butterflies under the acetate to give the page a little depth.

Lastly, I added gold Thickers and some typed journaling to my photo.

From the gold foil to the beautiful butterflies, Clearly Posh and Wildflower made for a beautiful page! If you are putting together a wedding album, you can’t go wrong with such pretty products. And you must get the Staple Board! I can’t wait to use it again!

Wedding Gift Bags

Hello We R fans, and welcome to Wedding Week! With the beautiful warm weather here we know some of you are planning weddings this summer, or will be attending them. This week is all about wedding ideas, from gift wrap, to decor, to favor ideas and more. Get ready to pin some fun ideas to your wedding Pinterest board!

Hi! It’s Aly here today to share a decorative gift bag idea with you. These sweet little bags would work perfectly for smaller gifts, gift cards with treats, or favor bags for wedding guests. I used my Gift Bag Punch Board to make these, and then took them to the next level by punching the edges with my 2 Edge Punch.

Once I completed my gift bags, I added a ribbon closure, and some beautiful layered tags and ephemera pieces from the Wildflower collection. I love how the gold foil accents add some elegance to them.

Spring Mini Album

Hello there We R fans, Kimberly Crawford here with a spring mini album. I love taking photographs, but I am not always sure how to display them. Creating this simple and elegant mini album was the perfect answer!

spring mini album 9 Kimberly Crawford

This mini album, bound together with the Cinch will look lovely sitting on the coffee table, and my photos will now get out of a basket!

spring mini album Kimberly Crawford

For the front and back cover, I used the clear acetate sheets with gold foil. I love foil, and gold, and stripes! The word spring was created with chipboard stickers that were also gold foil.

spring mini album 2 Kimberly Crawford

Then I chose papers from the Wildflower Collection. The color was perfect, but the print was distracting. To tone it down, I painted gesso on each piece of patterned paper. While the papers were drying, I went through my stash of supplies and grabbed everything that I thought would look pretty in my album. I love mixing up my supplies like that!

spring mini album 3 Kimberly Crawford

Quotes are another favorite of mine, so I added a couple of handwritten flower quotes to the pages in my mini album.

spring mini album 4 Kimberly Crawford

To highlight the flower in this photo, I added a clear frame. To attach it to the page without the adhesive showing, I used a metal clip. While the clip holds the frame, the adhesive I added to the back of the clip holds it to the page.

spring mini album 5 Kimberly Crawford

On this page I layered a journaling card behind my photos. I also added a butterfly that was cut from a piece of patterned paper.

spring mini album 7 Kimberly Crawford

I continued using the same type of products on the last page. Those butterflies are the perfect embellishment! When it came time to assemble my album, the Cinch made it easy. All the pages, in their different mediums, were easily punched. I was also happy to be able to bind the pages together with gold wires.

What photos do you have in hiding that need to be displayed in a mini album?

Washi Tape Gift Wrap

Hello there We R fans, Kimberly Crawford here. Washi tape is one supply I can never have enough of! It’s easy to use, versatile, and comes in a rainbow of colors and patterns. Coming up with more ways to use washi tape is fantastic, and enables me to add more tape to my growing collection! Here are a couple of great ways to use washi tape to wrap gifts!

washi gifts Kimberly Crawford

Using my 1-2-3 Punch Board and a floral paper from the Wildflower collection, I created a small box. To decorate the box, I used washi tape like ribbon by wrapping it around the box.

washi gifts 4 Kimberly Crawford

Then I turned the washi tape into curly-q’s! I love the look of curling ribbon on packages and wondered if washi tape could create the same look. It can! Taking a length of washi tape, I folded it in half. To make it thinner, I cut it in half, length-wise. Each piece of washi tape was wrapped around the end of a paintbrush.

washi gifts 3 Kimberly Crawford

You could use a pencil for thicker spirals, or a toothpick for very tiny spirals. Holding the washi in place for a moment is all it takes. I cut several different lengths of washi tape and adhered the ends to the top of the box. I topped the pretty package off with an adorable pink Pleather Bow.

washi gifts 6 Kimberly Crawford

Using the 1-2-3 Punch Board and more of the same papers, I created two envelopes, perfect for holding gift cards. Around one envelope I wrapped two colors of washi tape.

washi gifts 5 Kimberly Crawford

Around the second envelope, I added a band of washi, but also a washi tape banner. Small pieces of washi tape were folded over a piece of twine. Once they were in place, I notched the bottoms with a pair of scissors. The banner tied easily around the envelope.

Did you happen to notice the fantastic washi tape dispenser in the background? If you think he’s cute, make sure and see the Scottie Dog version!

Have you used washi tape to wrap a gift?

2016 Scrapbook Calendar

Hello!  Jennie here with a year ending calendar that is just perfect for keeping for yourself or for gift giving.

2016 Cinch Scrapbook Calendar by Jennie McGarvey for We R Memory Keepers

I went into this thinking how the Wildflower collection would be perfect to work with.  It’s versatile, beautiful and not at all themed.  Perfect for the variety of photos I needed to use.  So, along with my Cinch, I was set!

jenniemcgarveycinch2

I had purchased an $1.00 calendar and cut it apart, only keeping the actual month view so I could adhere it to the calendar.

jenniemcgarveycinch3

Now, the fun.  I printed 12 photos, one for each month.  Then, I proceeded to make, for all intents and purposes, a scrapbook layout for each photo!  On the backside, I adhered the previous month.  That way when I bound the pages together, it would serve as a wall calendar!

jenniemcgarveycinch4

All I had to do was punch the holes, choose the binding and put it all together.  It really was that easy!

My name is Daniela Dobson and I live in Dallas, TX. I am married to Peter and we have a little boy, Alex, who is 7 years old.  I have been scrapbooking and stamping for over 15 years. I really enjoy challenges and strive to be innovative. I love recording every day moments, especially now, with my son.  I have always kept a record of my life through journaling and photos, and scrapbooking allows me to combine those two. I don’t want to forget the important and not so important moments. When I am not scrapbooking, you can find me volunteering at my son’s school. I enjoy cooking, running, reading, and watching TV.

Favorite WRMK Product: Crop-A-Dile Hole Punch & Eyelet Setter. I still remember when and where I bought it and I use it all the time.

Favorite Scrapbooking/paper craft tip: Don’t be afraid to use whatever you want on your projects. Mix things up, there are no rules.

I fell in love with the patterned paper with just the outline of the flowers, a blank canvas. I prepped the paper with clear gesso, which keeps the original, but gives the paper some texture and a layer so that you can add other media. I added blue and orange watercolor crayons to the background. I layered the tag, embellishments and stickers to complete the card.

The layout has some patterned paper as a base and under the photos, but I mostly layered tags, stickers and embellishments on the both sides of the photos. The colors of the Wildflower collection fit perfectly with our family Thanksgiving photos. The gold tied everything together. I even fussy cut some flowers from patterned paper for the corners.
